Thanks for the great show. You don't get all the credit, but here are some things I have done since I started watching that bear some of your influence: * Moved to an island in a part of my country that I always wanted to live. * Started attending the wooden boat show and met a bunch of wonderful people and boats. * Built my own small boat (a childhood dream) and went on camping adventures among the islands. * Volunteered in the local rural fire department and rescued people and put out fires. Also-- the fire boat!!!! * Starting fostering children again, after taking many years break from it. You guys are a big part of my inspiration. You have a sense of adventure, and find a way to do it now instead of pretending you are going to do it when you're 65. You also worked incredibly hard to get to the point of launching your adventure, and continue that effort to keep it going. I appreciate the way you raise your child-- based on your principles and what you think will produce a worthwhile little human rather than what other people think. I try to do the same thing with my kids, keeping in mind that each person's needs are different.
Riley, I am so proud of your response t Alayna's anxieties. You said she's a good mom/mum :-). As a mom, I can tell you to please keep supporting her efforts. So much changes in your chemistry and body after childbirth. We women are so often second guessed for our concerns. I have gone through this. It's also a great way to keep Alayna close. You are her ally. Alayna, I am so proud of the woman you have become. You are a very good mother, and have challenges that land-based parents never worry about. It's gonna get more hectic for a time as Lenny becomes more mobile. But your love for that little guy is your guide to remaining a great parent. Hats off to you both. You folk have helped inspire my wife and I to take a year off with our 13 and 11 year old to travel around our home country, New Zealand. We have access to an off-grid caravan and I work in the outdoor adventure industry, so we have decided it's high time that we take our kids on all the adventures I have had the privilege to take other families kids on over the past 20 years.
I was literally thinking at the beginning of this video that you're the ones that inspired me to travel through Asia with nothing but a backpack! I'm on day 6 of hopefully a 3 months trip... It's not sailing, it's not creating a business, but it's a dream I had for a long time I'm finally living!!!!
More people should spend time exploring the earth. I love traveling, but haven't done a lot in Asia yet outside of the standard Beijing, Singapore and Hong Kong. If you can go to Australia and New Zealand as your next stop, you won't regret it. NZ is like another planet, so beautiful. Have fun be safe and take it all in they'll be great memories for you.

I felt inspired by you both and wanted to buy a boat and begin sailing. After realizing it wasn't realistic for me I travelled to Canada, did a course, fell in love travelled north America, Europe and Australia got married, lived in a 4wd and roadtripped, bought a house and am currently renovating it with my beautiful Canadian wife in Melbourne Australia! You've inspired me to do more adventurous stuff. Sometimes I let fear control me and I become more afraid of what could happen doing new things. Now I try to take my kids to new places and do new things.We all went snorkeling last year. I even took them skiing and I'm scared of the snow. I feel like I'm teaching my kids that there's more to life than work and school. They absolutely love the family adventures, the ocean is their favorite mine too. Watching you guys makes me smile as I did before "Life" happend, When I was younger, I travelled quite extensively and had many experiences all over the world. At 47 years young now, My youngest is now 18 and almost out of school with plans to send her to university next year. I actually do not enjoy sailing but I love your videos. It is more about your "Lifestyle" (I know it is a lot of work) than it is sailing for me. I plan on packing up my 2004 Harley and hitting the road for some adventures in the very near future. I've always tried to be a healthy eater, but watching you cook makes me really pick and choose what I eat. You've inspired me to slow down every day and be thankful for what I have. Not only that, but appreciate the simple things in life a lot more, and live more simplistic. I'm less worrisome on getting 'all the chores done' if I get to spend that extra hour outside playing with the dogs. Or if a storm rolls in, I find time to slow down inside and recharge instead of complain about the weather. I now have written on my fridge: "Learn to set your OWN sail every single day"...... And it's something I really value and live by now. So thank you :)

Lenny's 'there's none left but I want more' cry has remind me and my wife Lisa of when we had our two kids (now 10 and 12). Hello mates from Canada eh ! Just wanted to pop on and say that I randomly came across your channel only a couple weeks ago and have been really diggin it ! I’ve been watching loads of tiny home channels as I am just about to start a tiny home on wheels build and stoked to be sharing the build on TH-cam (very new to the TH-cam life and no experience making videos yikes). Anyways at first I was skeptical of your channel just because I didn’t think I would relate or find boat life interesting bbuuut I would like you both to know that I find what you show is honest, genuine and quite hilarious at some points! The biggest take away is how you have inspired me and reminded me why I am taking the step to go tiny and live an alternative lifestyle both in my choice of home, all over the place lifestyle and career. Elayna, I too struggled with anxiety after the birth of my first son, starting when he was about 4 months old. 10 years later, still dealing with it, but have learned soo much and still learning more all the time! I love how real you have gotten in the last few episodes and think that a lot of us can relate! Loveeee watching little Lenny grow- he is so stinking cute. My daughter, wife, and I have become more aware of our food intake. We now look for more plant based food. And Dark Chocolate with coconut has become my personal favorite. We eat more fish, and have really have been creative with new foods. And we now have a paddle boat! We live on a lake!

I’ve been inspired by you guys to keep going when it gets difficult in my van. I still have a ways to go with my build and just got out of a major depression-that thankfully I was able to take some time off for. Some friends took me in and it really helped start the healing process. Now I’m back in the van full time and looking for work. I’m a creative, but super private and consider myself a student of my craft right now-instead of publishing anything now for income. Just creating and learning. Guys I've recently retired from the work force and will be traveling full time in my 5th wheel trailer throughout North America. This channel along, with several more, has inspired me and given me the confidence to do this life changing experience. I fell in love with the La Vagabonde channel when Lenny was born. I've dont have any kids of my own but the fact that his birth was shared to all the world to see was sooooooo beautiful. I have followed you both for years. I am constantly inspired by your intentional living. It feels like you have to be so intentional with everything you do living on a boat. Land life is comparably so much easier. I try to use this as a lesson to be more intentional, even in the smallest of things.

Also, I've got an inquiry in about the sailing school that works with the sail boat rental company you shared about in one of your recent videos. I'd REALLY like to learn to sail as I love the ocean, snorkeling, scuba diving, exploring new lands, meeting people from different cultures, and eating amazing seafood and other unusual food & drink from all over the world. Once I take the course (and pass of course), I'll be able to rent a boat from the rental company for some vacations at least. And if I REALLY love it, who knows?! I cant help but be impressed with what you guys are doing. living your dreams and seeing the world, doing what you love, cant ask for much more than that, and to do it with little Lenny aswell must be twice as challenging and yet you both seem so strong and determined. i have had 3 children myself so i know how difficult bringing a little one into the world can be, in a 'regular' enviroment, so to do it on board a sailing vessel with all the dangers and risks surrounding you is awesome. Started to follow you guys around the time when you switched from monohull to catamaran. You videos have been rather good and calming around times when work was quite stressful and full of BS (i still loved my job, just some people were real annoyance), huge thank you to both of you!!! Reason why your videos were good was the scenery and background music, time-to-time some little fun topics, stories and such. Life isn't always perfect, relationships aren't perfect because people will always learn to communicate till the end of their life, and that is fine. Take care of each other no matter what! :) This video made me wonder, not sure why it made me wonder just now and not sooner, what you two would have done if: -- a bit of story before the actual question comes -- Me and my wife have been thinking about getting our own kid for more than a year and finally decided to really go for it about half a year ago, once again your videos perhaps have helped me to get mentally ready for such responsibility (how you three manage your lives on a boat.. can't be much harder on land and in quite a bit colder weather, now can it?). But nothing prepared me for what came next ... when my wife told me that she had the ultrasound done ... oh man... nothing prepared me for that one ... and she told me that we are having... TWINS... She isn't tall girl, she is shorter type, we don't have any kids experience either... every family member (parents, brothers, sisters, ...) and friends are like "you two, and twins??? " :D . Car we have is .. sports car, it does not fit two kids that need baby seat... would have managed with one and the same car .. and some other minor preparations... quite a bit of life changes waiting a head, and it's fine because she is happy and i am happy, we'll manage somehow as we always have :) So from there I started to wonder and the question is: what would you have done if there would not be one Lenny but two: Would you still be sailing (I hope so) and making videos (I hope so), how different would your daily activities be (assuming that you would have continued the boat life)? Perhaps some other thoughts or so? Any way, i'm really happy for you the La Vagabonde family and may the wind be always at your back! And... oh boy.. or should I say "oh boys" as those two who we are expecting are boys... much work awaits us ahead, much to prepare for.. :D Oh and this as well: At some point of time we thought / planned to have two kids before we get 30.. well, those boys are just in schedule as one of us will be 30 one month after the due date :D

When I was growing up My dad would always go deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico to a place called Kino Bay. He would fish for grouper. We were pretty spoiled to eating great fish. Riley and Elayna got us off our butts, too. We had been cruising before, and had our sailboat we bought for that cruise, just sitting at the dock, mostly unused, for four years. I showed their videos to my wife, and said, "Let's get out there, again!" And, we did. Thanks, you guys!
Thanks for the great show. You don't get all the credit, but here are some things I have done since I started watching that bear some of your influence:
* Moved to an island in a part of my country that I always wanted to live.
* Started attending the wooden boat show and met a bunch of wonderful people and boats.
* Built my own small boat (a childhood dream) and went on camping adventures among the islands.
* Volunteered in the local rural fire department and rescued people and put out fires. Also-- the fire boat!!!!
* Starting fostering children again, after taking many years break from it.
You guys are a big part of my inspiration. You have a sense of adventure, and find a way to do it now instead of pretending you are going to do it when you're 65. You also worked incredibly hard to get to the point of launching your adventure, and continue that effort to keep it going. I appreciate the way you raise your child-- based on your principles and what you think will produce a worthwhile little human rather than what other people think. I try to do the same thing with my kids, keeping in mind that each person's needs are different.
Riley, I am so proud of your response t Alayna's anxieties. You said she's a good mom/mum :-). As a mom, I can tell you to please keep supporting her efforts. So much changes in your chemistry and body after childbirth. We women are so often second guessed for our concerns. I have gone through this. It's also a great way to keep Alayna close. You are her ally.
Alayna, I am so proud of the woman you have become. You are a very good mother, and have challenges that land-based parents never worry about. It's gonna get more hectic for a time as Lenny becomes more mobile. But your love for that little guy is your guide to remaining a great parent. Hats off to you both. We have access to an off-grid caravan and I work in the outdoor adventure industry, so we have decided it's high time that we take our kids on all the adventures I have had the privilege to take other families kids on over the past 20 years.
I was literally thinking at the beginning of this video that you're the ones that inspired me to travel through Asia with nothing but a backpack! I'm on day 6 of hopefully a 3 months trip... More people should spend time exploring the earth. I love traveling, but haven't done a lot in Asia yet outside of the standard Beijing, Singapore and Hong Kong. If you can go to Australia and New Zealand as your next stop, you won't regret it. NZ is like another planet, so beautiful. Have fun be safe and take it all in they'll be great memories for you.

I felt inspired by you both and wanted to buy a boat and begin sailing. After realizing it wasn't realistic for me I travelled to Canada, did a course, fell in love travelled north America, Europe and Australia got married, lived in a 4wd and roadtripped, bought a house and am currently renovating it with my beautiful Canadian wife in Melbourne Australia! We want to start a business sometime soon encouraging sustainability and simple living. Thanks guys! You really are an inspiration.

Watching you guys makes me smile as I did before "Life" happend, When I was younger, I travelled quite extensively and had many experiences all over the world. At 47 years young now, My youngest is now 18 and almost out of school with plans to send her to university next year. I actually do not enjoy sailing but I love your videos. It is more about your "Lifestyle" (I know it is a lot of work) than it is sailing for me. I plan on packing up my 2004 Harley and hitting the road for some adventures in the very near future. I've always tried to be a healthy eater, but watching you cook makes me really pick and choose what I eat. You've inspired me to slow down every day and be thankful for what I have. Not only that, but appreciate the simple things in life a lot more, and live more simplistic. I'm less worrisome on getting 'all the chores done' if I get to spend that extra hour outside playing with the dogs. Or if a storm rolls in, I find time to slow down inside and recharge instead of complain about the weather. I now have written on my fridge: "Learn to set your OWN sail every single day"...... And it's something I really value and live by now. So thank you :)

You guys inspired me to put everything on the line, leave my life in Sydney and risk it all to start a Permaculture Farm in Noosa! Lenny's 'there's none left but I want more' cry has remind me and my wife Lisa of when we had our two kids (now 10 and 12). Hello mates from Canada eh ! Just wanted to pop on and say that I randomly came across your channel only a couple weeks ago and have been really diggin it ! I’ve been watching loads of tiny home channels as I am just about to start a tiny home on wheels build and stoked to be sharing the build on TH-cam (very new to the TH-cam life and no experience making videos yikes). Anyways at first I was skeptical of your channel just because I didn’t think I would relate or find boat life interesting bbuuut I would like you both to know that I find what you show is honest, genuine and quite hilarious at some points! The biggest take away is how you have inspired me and reminded me why I am taking the step to go tiny and live an alternative lifestyle both in my choice of home, all over the place lifestyle and career. I too struggled with anxiety after the birth of my first son, starting when he was about 4 months old. 10 years later, still dealing with it, but have learned soo much and still learning more all the time! I love how real you have gotten in the last few episodes and think that a lot of us can relate! Loveeee watching little Lenny grow- he is so stinking cute. Even my husband and kids love watching your vlog with me, and my husband is a picky guy at times ;)

My daughter, wife, and I have become more aware of our food intake. We now look for more plant based food. And Dark Chocolate with coconut has become my personal favorite. We eat more fish, and have really have been creative with new foods. And we now have a paddle boat! We live on a lake!

I’ve been inspired by you guys to keep going when it gets difficult in my van. I still have a ways to go with my build and just got out of a major depression-that thankfully I was able to take some time off for. Some friends took me in and it really helped start the healing process. Now I’m back in the van full time and looking for work. I’m a creative, but super private and consider myself a student of my craft right now-instead of publishing anything now for income. Just creating and learning. Going insane some days repeating the same shit, as not having much built means a lot of chaos. Thanks Elayna for your video on anxiety and stress. Super relatable and encouraging.

Guys I've recently retired from the work force and will be traveling full time in my 5th wheel trailer throughout North America. This channel along, with several more, has inspired me and given me the confidence to do this life changing experience. I fell in love with the La Vagabonde channel when Lenny was born. I've dont have any kids of my own but the fact that his birth was shared to all the world to see was sooooooo beautiful. I have followed you both for years. I am constantly inspired by your intentional living. It feels like you have to be so intentional with everything you do living on a boat. Land life is comparably so much easier. I try to use this as a lesson to be more intentional, even in the smallest of things.

You've inspired me to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail in the USA (in the works). Also, I've got an inquiry in about the sailing school that works with the sail boat rental company you shared about in one of your recent videos. I'd REALLY like to learn to sail as I love the ocean, snorkeling, scuba diving, exploring new lands, meeting people from different cultures, and eating amazing seafood and other unusual food & drink from all over the world. Once I take the course (and pass of course), I'll be able to rent a boat from the rental company for some vacations at least. And if I REALLY love it, who knows?! I cant help but be impressed with what you guys are doing. living your dreams and seeing the world, doing what you love, cant ask for much more than that, and to do it with little Lenny aswell must be twice as challenging and yet you both seem so strong and determined. i have had 3 children myself so i know how difficult bringing a little one into the world can be, in a 'regular' enviroment, so to do it on board a sailing vessel with all the dangers and risks surrounding you is awesome. Started to follow you guys around the time when you switched from monohull to catamaran. You videos have been rather good and calming around times when work was quite stressful and full of BS (i still loved my job, just some people were real annoyance), huge thank you to both of you!!! Reason why your videos were good was the scenery and background music, time-to-time some little fun topics, stories and such.
Life isn't always perfect, relationships aren't perfect because people will always learn to communicate till the end of their life, and that is fine. Take care of each other no matter what! :)
This video made me wonder, not sure why it made me wonder just now and not sooner, what you two would have done if: -- a bit of story before the actual question comes -- Me and my wife have been thinking about getting our own kid for more than a year and finally decided to really go for it about half a year ago, once again your videos perhaps have helped me to get mentally ready for such responsibility (how you three manage your lives on a boat.. can't be much harder on land and in quite a bit colder weather, now can it?). But nothing prepared me for what came next ... when my wife told me that she had the ultrasound done ... oh man... nothing prepared me for that one ... and she told me that we are having... TWINS... She isn't tall girl, she is shorter type, we don't have any kids experience either... every family member (parents, brothers, sisters, ...) and friends are like "you two, and twins??? " :D . Car we have is .. sports car, it does not fit two kids that need baby seat... would have managed with one and the same car .. and some other minor preparations... quite a bit of life changes waiting a head, and it's fine because she is happy and i am happy, we'll manage somehow as we always have :) So from there I started to wonder and the question is: what would you have done if there would not be one Lenny but two: Would you still be sailing (I hope so) and making videos (I hope so), how different would your daily activities be (assuming that you would have continued the boat life)? Perhaps some other thoughts or so?
Any way, i'm really happy for you the La Vagabonde family and may the wind be always at your back!
And... oh boy.. or should I say "oh boys" as those two who we are expecting are boys... much work awaits us ahead, much to prepare for.. :D
Oh and this as well: At some point of time we thought / planned to have two kids before we get 30.. well, those boys are just in schedule as one of us will be 30 one month after the due date :D

Johnredcorn 1 it was a joke however i did look up flavored spoons, and omg there is pretty much any flavor you can imagine spoons. I believe it's to stir into like a hot chocolate or a coffee. But hard candy flavored spoons and different flavored chocolate spoons are a thing. Wow!!! Lol

Land locked in Germany. You've inspired me to learn how to ride a long board skate board. I've fallen more times than I care to admit and many scraps and bruises but no broken bones. It has been so much fun.
We live off grid on a remote Mesatop in the high desert and like to pretend we’re on a boat. We catch all the water off the roof and power the place w a 25 year old panel, propane and wood. So you three are a big inspiration for us up here with no water for a half a country. Keep writing both of you.

I love to watch your videos. The underwater fishing is so fun to watch and of course watching your sweet baby boy. You guys are great parents, thanks for sharing with us your family adventures! When I was growing up My dad would always go deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico to a place called Kino Bay. He would fish for grouper. We were pretty spoiled to eating great fish. You are making some great family memories.
