    Joe about your 99% online books you can simply write a book list about them in your website like Alex O'Connor. Alex in his website wrote all the names of book which he studied in his first term of first year in university

    Thanks for the bookshelf. Many of these I'm familiar with but some are new, so I have something to look up. Eventually, when I get rid of my old books many other books you have I'll be adding to my definitive collection. Need a few essential works on essential topics for reference/review.

    I don't own a single book. I read about a paragraph and start getting bored and skipping words, and then have to re-read over and over. Managed two degrees despite this flaw. Lol

    You bring palpability to the notion, you are what you read.
    The collection on display here, which is just a small fraction of what you actually read, is undoubtedly impressive and quite frankly, intimidating and it really begs the question, who are you making these videos for anyways, since the general public is not going to have same level of intellectual acumen, interest, curiosity or pedagogic background as you surely do, let alone speak the same language in an intelligible way without coming across as idiotic or snubbish for that matter.
    Still, appreciate the share. Not many people share materials of scholarly learning. You are a gift! Thanks

    Great tour.
    It will be great if you could creat another video in which you provide four books in each branch of philosophy that lead readers to read book that take them from beginners to advanced level.
    You stated, in this video, that your physical books represent one percent of your actual library. Therefore, your recommendations may touch upon on books you did not discuss in this video.

    btw have you read " *Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia* " ?If not you can try this book it's a great book for life from Japanese philosophy pov.

      Lol
      I’m usually this way. But also, I purposely edited this video so that it’s quite “clippy”, ie, with few breaks between clips of continuous talking. Basically I wanted to try out the “rapid fire” style, partly because I included lots of jokes and thought the style fitted the jokes better!🙂

    Yeah, my non physical book collection is definitely bigger than my physical book collection for...uh...reasons. It's always way easier though for me to read something in physical form rather than digital (except for like articles and such).

    Confessions was the book that converted me to Christianity initially then I unfortunately started going to a Calvinist church with no idea of the theological distinctions and distinctions of praxis between denominations 😂

    Leaving some recommendations for later...
    - Steinhart's 'More Precisely: the maths you need to do philosophy'
    - Kane's Introduction to Free Will (or maybe the Routledge introduction)
    I would get Pruss' infinity causation and paradox, but that's more expensive that your mother
    - The puzzle of existence.
    Also... Joe, you should read Barnes' and Lewis' 'A Fortunate Universe.' It is an intermediate level case for fine-tuning that goes over many different examples in a nicely visualised manner.

    Do you have any tips to improve my attention span... I love reading but in recent times i just can't seem to finish 2 pages... I used to finish a book in a day when but lately it seems impossible.. I think social media ect messed up my attention span and i really want it back lol... I listen to audiobooks and thats cool but i wanna go old school again... Btw love your videos from Cape Town 🇿🇦... Also come on you spurs

    Righteous. Have you ever spent time engaging with classical theism in its pagan modes--i.e. the writings of Plato; Plotinus; Proclus etc. and/or contemporary defenders of this tradition like Eric Perl and Lloyd Gerson?
    (OFC. Boethius and Augustine are also representatives of this tradition in a Christian mode. )

    by *Peter Adamson* it is a good book On Islamic philosophy and philosophers.

    ... The only reason I consider myself a religious person is because I can't fit consciousness into science.
