Very helpful video. I installed the rears last weekend and it was a great success. My only recommendation for change is at 19:05 - 19:30, those two steps I would reverse. Remove the tray after removing that first plastic plug simply because if the plug falls into that hole where the tray used to be, it might get trapped down there and be a huge pain to find.

Hi Konrad, apologies TH-cam is acting up and not allowing a direct reply; We've never had a reported warranty issue as the speakers are 100% plug n play. Your BMW dealership would have to be really really "tripping" to claim any warranty issue with these better-than-factory drivers (the factory drivers sometimes blow and fry the factory amp!). In a worst-case scenario (which has never happened) the drivers can be swapped back to factory as easily as they go in!
FYI - I have a 2015 BMW X1 (Ult Edition) and I did not have a rear tweeter as they showed in this video. Installation guide was still effective other than that. Was a bit bummed. The rear speaker they gave me fit, just no place for the tweeter.
Also, I managed to replace the rear speakers without taking out the top plastic panel. I just laid on a blanket in back and took it out from underneath once I got the side panels removed.
+Daniel Wabyick You can buy those rear plastic panels from the BMW Parts Dealers online. They're like $35-40 each depending on where you buy it and shipping costs. I installed them on my non-HK audio X1 and it has the same fit as the stock one, only difference was that it had one fewer screw slot so I ended up with two extra screws after installing both panels.
Do you happen to know the part numbers for those rear plastic panels? I have been searching on RealOEM and can't seem to find them.
Nice video. Questoin, I have a German Spec. 2010 X1 E84 d18 diesel engine with a shitty sound system. Will this kit fit as as well? If it does, how can I get this kit? Thx.

So the "speed volume" setting actually messes with the bass and lower mid range when you set it higher and the car speed is increased? I though it just increased the volume as the car speed increased.
does this in anyway affect the car warranty ?

What about the fron speaker under the windshield?
The E84 X1 vehicles actually do not come with a center dash midrange. (Not sure why we used the picture of a kit with a center dash speaker in the thumbnail picture). We have many other install videos that include the installation of the center dash speaker if you need to reference for another vehicle.
@@bavsound is it possible to add a mid dash speaker to an e84, which has no one?
