  • If you live in a building without an elevator, and want to get a heavy electric scooter, you CAN transport it up and down even steep stairs using the right technique, even if you are not so strong, or the scooter is very heavy. I use a Janobike X-20 electric scooter (copy of X-Tron X-20 / X20 electric scooter) for this video.

    Our stairs are turning so I have developed another method: I place my scooter parallel to the stairs. Then I lift the rear wheel only and place it on upper stair. Then I lift the front wheel and place it on the upper stair. I continue with the front wheel and place it to the upper stair one more time. I go back and I do the same thing for the rear wheel. I always operate step by step (one stair level at a time). No injuries, no damage so far. The straight portion of our stairs goes fast, the curved part requires a little bit more attention. 20 stairs x 2 to overcome for a journey but that is not that bad.

      Looks minimal but good point

    • @FlexitoolGuides
      @FlexitoolGuides  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think so, the stem is heavy tubing, and you are lifting it vertically, so there is no stress on any joint.

    • @FlexitoolGuides
      @FlexitoolGuides  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check my reply out above. The force of lifting is up the tube, no weight on the tube on its side. Plus this tube is extremely heavy, its not fragile. So, I don't think it's really a factor. Time will tell though... but after about 8 months of this, no issues. If I encounter any will report back! Regards!

    Those are short, low steps. Mine are higher. I'm thinking on how to solve this problem before I buy.

    • @FlexitoolGuides
      @FlexitoolGuides  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it looks like that, its the camera lens perspective, the stair tread height is normal. Maybe you can borrow one to test... it's the best way.

      @@FlexitoolGuides I'm running into this issue right now. My stairs are tall and not very long/wide, and the bottom of my deck scrapes the stairs with this method.
      I'm thinking of just using a shoulder strap to take some weight off my arms.

      Depending on the scooter/stairs you can also hold the brakes and just slowly let the scooter go down if you can hold it upright.

  • @soaringstars314
    @soaringstars314 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For those who are saying its too slow ironically youre wrong. Its actually faster if you have a high speed scooter that can go faster than you getting a lightweight scooter that will take longer to get there
    Only exception is when youre onlt commuting a few miles at most and you're taking multiple floors upstairs

    Thanks for the tip but this is quite slow technic. Why not just carry it up and down? I do that myself to the third floor.
    The only difference is that my electric scooter weights something like 35kg, so yours is little bit heavier.

    Here in Australia we ride much lighter scooters of a LEGAL 250watts

    • @FlexitoolGuides
      @FlexitoolGuides  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, the lighter ones are much easier. But these ones with the longer range, higher speeds etc have the really big batteries, and that is the main source of weight gain. Its like trying to take a big bag of cement up and down, every time.

    • @jeremyparton6422
      @jeremyparton6422 ปีที่แล้ว
