Assalamualaikum Soha, my brother performed Hajj this year. He is relatively young, in his early 30s. Alhumdulillah, his Hajj was challenging, even though we paid 8.5 lakh from Hyderabad to a private Hajj group. Firstly, the prices were ridiculous. Upon asking different people about their experiences there, they told a similar story: they paid less than we did.
Before Hajj, the rooms weren’t allotted properly. My brother hadn’t slept for two nights because someone else took his bed while he was away from the room. Additionally, the food was very average, and during Hajj, the Mina and Arafat tents were not very nice. We paid a significant amount of money to receive such poor service. When asked about the issues Hajjis were facing, the Muallim said, “Hajj is all about patience and perseverance.” It feels like they are extorting high amounts of money in the name of religion, and the service provided is mediocre.
It was very disappointing. Alhumdulillah, he is young and managed with whatever conditions he was in, but it is still not fair to pay such a high amount for inadequate service and dishonesty.
