Really beautiful job! That was a really clever way to add the changing table frame in such a way as to be able to remove it down the line when it's no longer needed. Hope the newcomer is healthy and happy! Thanks for sharing.
John, You did a GREAT JOB. Very professionally built. Looks like you have been building these for years. Also like the way you narrated in detail every step. I enjoy these types of videos. Very inspiring. I would give it 2 thumbs up if I could. lol
Hey John! Thank you so much for putting this video together. I built a wood workshop in my basement when COVID hit and my wife and I got a call for a little 3 week old who needed a home. So we needed a new changing table as we already have a 2 year old. This video was so well done and I was able to follow it pretty closely. I did make about 100 mistakes but I learned a ton. Thanks again. I will share some pics with you in IG.

Yep, love it. Great work man!!! I am building a little 4 drawer and your tips on mounting the drawers were exactly what I needed. Thanks! By the way, I love he way it looks. And the gray top was really nice. Kudos my friend. ~Rich
This was an awesome build. I’m just getting into woodworking and this makes me want to try and take on some bigger projects. Thanks for the inspiration.
@@JohnBuildsIt I didn't mean anything bad by it. Sorry if it sounded like that. We are all trying to make a buck or two online. Nothing wrong with that. I don't know if you sell the tools or just get a commission with an affiliated program or not, and if you do, it is GREAT. I have nothing against that. I would defectively buy it from your links. After all you are teaching us how to do the project for free. Now, do you know your links has your id number to specify where the person was redirected from. That's how you get pay with an affiliated program; but anyway, what I meant was that most of the videos I have seen, until this one, show a bunch of tools on a table, explains what you can do with it and how it works but then one have to go search on google a project already someone made to see it in action. With your video I see the tool in action, in a complete project and I have wonderful links (affiliated or not) you put on the description for me to go straight to it. In other words, you did the whole work for us. Like I said is a GREAT well made video to show off all the nice tools. They are amazing by the way. I can see clearly they make the job easier. I have a whole folder full of project but I don't work on them cause I have no idea what tools to use to make them perfect. I don't mind the hard work of working by hand but I'm tired of my crooked lines. While this video, for most people, is probably a great tutorial of how to build a dresser to me is the perfect TOOLS video. And I thank you again for sharing it with us.
Vicky Latorre I really appreciate that! I did assume you were alleging I got all my tools for free and now I’m a salesman for the companies haha sorry about that! There are a lot of negative comments like that here on TH-cam. These are affiliate links, and it’s only a few cents from each order, but it does add up and is certainly better than nothing! Again, thank you!
Holy CRAP Batman!!! That is a spectacular dresser! Router work made perfect sense as soon as you started. Tongue and groove is a great look. Subscribed!
This is a nice professional piece of work!!! Congrats on getting the drawer slides in place first time! I'm yet to have a go at them and have heard all stories of installing them wrong... kind of puts me off but you've given me faith!
This is really just a beautiful piece. Super impressed with how you kept everything square and I'm sure the labor of love. well done, and thanks for sharing.
Great build and video! Really appreciate the detail you included in the build. Makes it very easy to see how you actually put things together. I learned some good tips from watching!
Awesome job, I going to buy this plan to match the queen bed plans I purchased recently. Excellent!! So after looking the plans I purchased were a different dresser build. Do you have plans for this dresser build as I like this build a little better. Thanks
Please make plans for this project. I would gladly buy them. I have already purchased your other plans for the bedroom furniture. This would be a great addition to that collection.
Great build video!!! Building one now as well. Also, I have that same router table. I took the table off from the plastic legs and the table fits perfectly between the extension sliders of the rigid table saw and still allows the fence to slid right over-top of it.
No but I do have plans for one very similar! Same overall demensions. This one just has different drawer fronts and that center stile on the sides. Easy changes if you want to use the other plans and video as a guide!
Everything was very nicely done plus it is practical, but is this to watch only? Where are the plans? Can't find them , nothing in the description as mentioned 6:02
Direvo Sabostien yea just for entertainment. I haven’t quite learned how to make plans yet haha I just have paper and pencil plans. I plan on trying to make some and when I do I’ll put a link!
This is the best video I’ve seen in several days specifically searching and watching how to make a cabinet. I want to make a bath vanity/cabinet then just put the bowl on top. Do you think you could list the wood materials, please. I went and bought the ¾ Maple plywood and many of the other tools you listed but then I caught the ½ for the back. 🙏 thank you.
PlayGirl I used 1/4 plywood on the back, 1/2” mdf on the side panels, 1/2 plywood for the bottom panel in the dresser, and everything else was rough sawn poplar that I milled down to 3/4” thick like you would buy right from the store if you didn’t have a jointer and planer. I chose poplar because it’s harder than pine and paints really well. Thanks for watching!
How do you measure the actual drawer fronts. Obviously you measure the opening it’s going to cover, but how much do you take off the true measurement to allow space for the drawer front on each side. How do you achieve the gap you’re eventually going to use the card trick to split? Thanks! Love your work!
Beautiful Build! Just a thought for anyone making a changing table, best not to fully box in the pad, rather only make sides and then corners that taper down, leaving the top and bottom open for the kids head/feet. Basically, you should make the box the same shape as the pad itself, not full height all the way around. Not only does it let them hang out, as the kid gets more wiggly, it saves their head somewhat from smacking onto the hard corner of the box, should they try to flip over, flop back from sitting up, or try to squirm while you're changing. Anyways, awesome project!
This is a great video and will be very useful! I am looking to build a very similar dresser soon! So this really gives me some great insight! Thanks John!
I wanted to reach out to say I really appreciate your videos and your pdf plan purchase options which I've recently taken advantage of. Hi John, thanks for posting! Awesome job. Curious how the drawer slides are holding up and if you would still recommend? Looking on Amazon they have several negative comments about sticking or being broken when arrived. Thanks
Great Build. Looks great....Thanks for the video. You mentioned dimensions: 56 3/4” wide, 20 1/2” deep, and 34 3/4” tall. Is the 56 3/4” wide, 20 1/2” deep the dresser top or the dimensions of the dresser leg to leg? Just curious.

Typical is 1/8” reveal all around, so the hole opening minus 1/4” for the front size. I like to do 3/16” so there’s slightly less than 1/8

Hi, what nidle size you used on the paint sprayer 5500? Thanks
QUICK QUESTION: What is the entire dimension of the Table. I think I want to build one similar. How thick were the legs and how tall was the dresser?
What tool is that at 7:41. I’ve come across times I can’t screw in my pocket hole screw.
Right angle adapter. There’s a link for it up in the description 👍🏽
What your set up consist of for spray gun?. Compressor size, hose size anything else that would help. Thanks
Earlex 5500. Link is in the description if you want to check it out 👍🏽
I so wanted to build but these tools are so expensive that I thought of just buying it but then it's no fun in buying
but the built was nice and clean

maybe I missed it but did you have to put a clear coat over the milk paint?

Yea!
Do you have to thin the milk paint at all or is it good to spray as-is with that 2.0 nozzle?
Yea I thin it!
