I sold my original one because I wanted to "upgrade". Now 22 yrs later I found one on eBay almost new with only 940 clicks and got it right away. I love it and take it on trips and everything.
I’ve had a couple of D200’s but always sold them after a while for something I perceived to be ‘better’.. I’ve got one coming tomorrow (with only 9000 clicks!), this time I’m keeping it lol.
yes d200's good, i inherit them from my father incl. d60 d70s n d80, they all go w/ ccd sensors plus a ton of lenses, really love the sensor's colour rendering outcomes cheers
I still use a D200 for personal and professional work. I'm only upgrading next year for video. I'll still use the D200 for stills. Also the film look comes from JPEGs. There used to be a custom curve D200 users downloaded to help get that roll off film has. If you set the camera to high saturation, high contrast, -2 sharpness. +1 EV, 800 iso, High NR JPeg Large, Basic or Normal. That setup is the film look used by fashion magazines in the 80s & 90s by film photographers.
It's a great camera and the raw files are very easy to make into great images. I don't agree about the viewfinder though. Although it might be better than some other apsc dslrs it's still pretty small compared to a full frame viewfinder. Great image quality but, as you say, you ideally don't want to go above 800ISO.
I like it, it's a nice ultra-wide angle for older DSLRs. Although it has a some technical issues, like chromatic aberration, at a level which would not be acceptable for a modern lens.
I don't believe it is popular now. It is fine in good light but too many people are going mirrorless. And people are asking if the d850 is still good in 2024. People are crazy and don't know and just follow the herd. I am glad you still find joy in the d200.
Because it is decent camera. It's a simple and robust camera without all the carp that has been added to a stills camera just to satisfy Y.T ' crap content creators '. It does what a logical camera is supposed to do and records the scene very nicely.
@@mikaelrphoto Video to start with. All the unnecessary focus follow modes. Zillions of focus points. I am sure there are a lot more, if I were inclined to dig them up.
Mine got pit away for a few years, but recently pulled it out again. Vant figure out why everything seems very dark, seems to struggle with getting enough ecposure to keep the shuttter speed fast enough not to blur.
I still think the D200 did a better rendering of Colour, Contrast, than any Body after it, though the D850 and the Z9 are close. The only things I dislike about the D200, is the Limited ISO Range, and the Poor High ISO Performance, and the oddball way to Zoom in when viewing the Image on the Rear Monitor
Agree! I’m so sick of the “film look” claim all of these cameras are getting. Same with the CCD vs CMOS sensor crap. There’s nothing special about CCD either.

Interesting that they can still be found with such a low count!

Same story...😊
Thanks for the video and sample photos, nice camera!

Thanks for sharing your experience with great comments.... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Thanks for watching!
👍 Nice ! Would love to see some comparison shots between D200 and D700. I read the processing between both these cameras quite similar .
Thanks! In my experience they both have their own "look", but yeah it could be interesting to compare them!
Beautiful camera for wildlife when paired with my nikkor af 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6
You got some beautiful pictures! I also love this camera!!
Thanks!
Great review

Hello. How do you like Tokina 12-24?

I guess in general it's not so popular, but among vintage digital enthusiasts it's liked a lot. and about the D850, people are indeed crazy!

I'm curious, what unnecessary stuff has been added?

D200 is popular today due to the CCDs sensor, colour size....similar to Leica M9.
D200 or D300, what is your choice?

Nice camera,i also need but its is out of my budget.

There’s a reason many modern dedicated astrophotography cameras use CCDs still…………………………………………….ccd is still superior for certain subjects.
