    1st off - I called it that you were Canadian right off the bat 😊, your description of everything was perfectly Canadian, haha
    2nd - we went here in March of 2019 and I’ve wanted to go back ever since - your video finally convinced my wife to agree!!
    Thanks for such a great in-depth accurate and honest review of the whole resort!! 😊

    Nice video. I've been to Cuba before but not Cayo Santa Maria. Did you fly out of Pearson? I'm too old to stand around for 3 hours.

      Haha... I hear ya. Good luck with Pearson! We were lucky to avoid it.

    This was awesome!!! Thank you soooo much Andrea!!! I'm a snorkel lover too and really appreciate the whole walk through!! Can I ask you, how far is it from the airport? Thanks again!!

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola! The resort is 90 minutes from the airport. It's a good road and takes you through a couple of small towns and across a very long causeway. Lots to see on the way to the hotel. Glad you enjoyed the video. We borrowed fins from the hotel but brought our own mask and snorkel.

      @@andreawe Thank you Andrea for the response!!! Just back from Cuba and we ended up going to Iberostar Playa Pilar. It was fantastic! Not the best for snorkelling but we had a really nice time. Thanks again Amigo!

    Hi Andrea. awesome video. We are going there on Friday may 20th. How was the food?
    Any advise for gifts for the hotel workers?

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Marie, we really enjoyed breakfast at the outdoor restaurant and each of the 3 a la cartes. The buffet was ok but I find most buffets kind of meh. As for gifts, cash and medicine was what we were told. We left our Advil, Tylenol, and Sunscreen. All were greatly appreciated. Enjoy your trip!

    Hi Andrea
    Good video showing the hotel but you never mentioned anything about if you would return, or how the food wAs..if you have been to other resorts in area and how Angsana compared.
    Maybe I missed that..thanks ahain

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I would return for sure. As for food, we went with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the a la cartes and 24 hour grill the most. I can't speak about other hotels in the area as this was our first trip to Cayo Santa Maria. Enjoy your trip if you decide to go!

    Thank you for your video! Do you recommend buying Cuban pesos at the hotel? Or at home (Canada).

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I would just bring Canadian cash. We tipped $5 bills here and there. The serving staff were also happy when we offered to buy their loonies and twoonies off of them for bills. They can't do anything with our Canadian coins. As we didn't know how much we would spend on excursions, etc., we were happy to wait until we got there to exchange money. Also, most places took Canadian cash. If I was to go back, I would do the same and not worry about bringing local currency.

    Adult only resort and the music stops at 11 ? Is there some other area that people can continue partying longer ? Great video.

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am happy you liked the video. I didn't find another place that people went to party. This resort didn't have that kind of vibe. I found it was more laid back, quiet, restful. Maybe once they are back to full capacity, that will change... although the bar is open air and right under the rooms, so I wouldn't expect the nightlife to be too wild in the future either.

    is there wifi at this resort ?

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it was free wifi. They gave us 3 hours of access at a time then we went back to the main desk and asked for more when the time expired.

    Brutal beach! How many stars is this place. 2?

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There were different beaches on the resort. The one to the far left was the best. I didn't think it was brutal at all. It was quite lovely actually...

    FOOD COLD ALL THE TIME SAME FOOD FOR LUNCH AND DINNER DONT GO

    • @andreawe
      @andreawe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was not our experience with the a la cartes. I do agree the options at the buffet and grill were the same most days but when we ordered breakfast and lunch at the grill, our meals always came to the table warm and fresh.
