It's a lot like when mobile apps began with the Smartphones. Many incumbants websites put out mobile apps and some did largely benefit, like Facebook. However there were other companies that emerged that were mobile native, like Uber. We will probably see something similar in AI. Incumbants and native applications can both benefit.
great convo - only way the big guys will win is if they offer free because innovation of new companies is always better. process of attempting to be aquired will likly continue.
The problem is that many consider AI as some new platform that needs a new dedicated UI. In reality, it's just a tool. A more sofisticated database that spits probabilistic data as a result of a query. So, there is no unique new AI specific UI. Existing services with existing audiences with their own UIs will just integrate AI tools as a feature as part of existing proprietary UI for each particular service.
Every example showcases how AI augments design, art, and video - essentially devaluing and/or ripping off artists. No one needs that. How about a truly beneficial use case? Simplifying tax filing or advancing cancer care come to mind.
