Good stuff Andrew! Downswings are tough and I couldn’t imagine having to make a vlog about them. I ran terrible 2 weeks ago at Bellagio. Played for 2hrs at Ceasers before flying out and won $500. Confidence came back w me home and went on a 5 game W streak. The L was minimal so still feel good. I definitely put your logic into my game and it's improved even after playing for 14 years. Good to think outside my box. Thanks & Prayers for LV!

Andrew - Love the commentary at the end. We work in completely different industries, but apparently think in similar ways. I often advise my younger employees to "focus on the process" when we are running bad as a business. Additionally, just by being born in the US, they have beaten the odds and are way ahead. I'm in Martinsburg, WV and I read our paper today (The Martinsburg Journal) and I found out what happened in Vegas. Such a tragedy and as I read I came to learn a school teacher from my town was killed during the shooting and the paper did a write up about her...I think she was superintendent at this point...but she checked into the same room as the shooter. Her son and family went to dinner early and their lives were spared but unfortunately this upstanding citizen and innocent lady from my hometown lost her life...paper read "At Least 59 Killed In Las Vegas Shooting" I am praying for victims and their families.
Taking a stab at being a pro cash game grinder currently. Playing 1/2 (people aren't as rich here so it's a lot of money) low rake and casino doesn't allow tipping. Was made redundant and got a decent payout so have a roll at least. Let's see how we go, wish me luck!
Where are you from? In north Cal most 1/2 games are not taken very seriously. Most people just goof around. The 2-5 deep stack or 5/10 games is where the money starts to matter for most people here. On top of that tipping is the norm and rake is somewhat high, but not so bad. So I would guess if the 1/2 games in your area are taken seriously and you manage to beat them then you could very possibly beat the 2/5 games in Cali.
wavygr good job. If we did unlimited buy in here then it would scare a lot of the fish away and we don't have very many whales so it might be harder for me to make money. I have been making $300 a week from poker but because of the way taxes and welfare works here it's not taxed and I still receive a small amount of welfare as all business owners can for their first year

BTW, I was at the Bellagio playing poker the night of the shooting and twice we had throngs of people run by the room shouting that a shooter was in the building. Both times they were wrong...thankfully. People, including me, hid under the poker tables...it was mass pandemonium and I'll never forget the helplessness of not knowing what was really going on. Stay true to yourself and don't get caught up in all the negativity surrounding all of us these days. We have enough people spouting that crap and don't need another "expert" out there to tell us how bad we are as a people and how the USA sucks. Have you ever played with guy before? I think the limp caller with KK is pot controlling almost, knowing that he is almost guaranteed to see a cbet from one of you, then just might have a read on you that you dont have aces, if he has played with you before. PS how much do you pay/tip for the valet??
I love your Vlogs, and am so glad that you are safe. I am curious of you and your viewer's opinion on an issue. I am aware that you are primarily a cash game player and the majority opinion is that tournament play is usually -EV compared to cash games. With that being said, since my part of the country is lacking in cash game action, I play quite a few tournaments. The question is: When calculating your hourly win rate would you include an hour long dinner break into the equation (ideally jumping into a cash game for an hour would be optimal, but is not an option at the local venues)?
Personally I don't think dinner is relevant to calculations. I think you need to look at net profit over however many events and how long they take to play.

Have you ever played with guy before? I think the limp caller with KK is pot controlling almost, knowing that he is almost guaranteed to see a cbet from one of you, then just might have a read on you that you dont have aces, if he has played with you before.
PS how much do you pay/tip for the valet??

I love your Vlogs, and am so glad that you are safe. I am curious of you and your viewer's opinion on an issue. I am aware that you are primarily a cash game player and the majority opinion is that tournament play is usually -EV compared to cash games. With that being said, since my part of the country is lacking in cash game action, I play quite a few tournaments. The question is: When calculating your hourly win rate would you include an hour long dinner break into the equation (ideally jumping into a cash game for an hour would be optimal, but is not an option at the local venues)?
Personally I don't think dinner is relevant to calculations. I think you need to look at net profit over however many events and how long they take to play.
I think tournament players focus more on their ROI instead of their hourly winrate.
