    I absolutely love Bunn coffee makers. I’ve been drinking coffee out of them since the mid 90s. My grandparents had a bun B8 that lasted them about 25 years. I bought my parents a bunn B10 as a present and then my sister bought them another one after the first one bit the dust from being ran out of water. I myself have owned several of them, I’ve owned three industrials and a couple of home models, I am currently looking at a vintage bun B8 that apparently is like new. while they are a bit to get used to once you get used to them it all becomes second nature.

    I just got ours and will set it up right after finishing your video. But I did ask BUNN about energy consumption, here is their fast response. It's very informative.
    "The Speed Brew models have an 850W heater in them, but the brewer is not on all the time. The brewer itself comes on to recover the tank temperature after brewing. Once that tank is back to temperature, the 800W heater won’t turn back on until you brew again.
    A 34-watt blanket warmer attached to the tank is what holds the tank at temperature in between brews. The blanket warmer and maintains the tank at the desired brewing temperature and uses a fraction of the power that the 800W heater uses.
    The only other energy-using device in a Speed Brew is the decanter warmer, which has to be manually switched on and off.
    " This was the perfect primer for a new owner. I wanted a Made In The US coffee maker but noticed the carafe is made in China. And it says the label is "not removable" wonder how long it will actually last? Bummer.

    Thank you! I had given up on this thing and your explanation made sense as to why you had to do the steps in that manner!

    OK so you fill the Bunn up twice with 10 and 10 cups(then you plug it in for 15-20mins to get hot},Then you can use the Coffee maker by putting coffee in.
    At this point I will only want to use 7-8 cups each day and NOT 10 cups.
    1st time after I plug it in do I refill it with 8 cups of water and close the lid?And will 8 cups come out?And leave it alone till the next day for another 8 cups and so on?
    So after the 1st pot of coffee is done leave the machine alone till the next day and put 8 cups into the machine and close the lid?.....Thanks

    What’s the high altitude option or how does it really make the adjustment ?

    Hello
    If you leave the switch on and the water boils out will it shut down?

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes for sure and damage the heating element but it take like 5 days for the water to boil out so if you are not going to use it for a week turn it off

      To provide some clarification, boiling the coffee maker out of water won’t damage the element, but there is a thermal fuse that will blow to prevent the machine from catching on fire. Unfortunately if that fuse blows you either have to replace the fuse which bunn will not sell you, or you have to replace the machine. There are videos here on TH-cam that demonstrate how to replace the thermal fuse, but it does require some knowledge of electrical components and knowledge of using a soldering iron.
