This is just a brilliant song! I first saw John in 1977 at the Glasgow apollo when he was just starting out, he supported John Miles and totally upstaged him! I went out the next day and bought John's debut album and I'm pretty sure this track was on it! I still have it on vinyl. Can't believe 31 years have passed...........still sounds fab today!
Dancing different does not mean one can't dance.. its nice to know that everyone is unique and special in there own way.. what a boring world this would be.. if we all danced alike.. sang a like..or even thought alike...Johns music sounds just as good as it did all those years ago.and it is so wonderful that one does not have to have been born in that era ., to be able to enjoy and appreciate..if the music of today was this good.. then there would be alot of less hatred,.
Met John mellencamp a number of years ago in Myrtle Beach he was drivin around in a 58 white Impala.I think parts of this were filmed on the grand strand..
we went to his concert for this album...yeah still albums back then....joe louis arena....detroit, michigan...holding hands meant so much baby....btw...i think the violin player is his sister....but, don't quote me.....say yeah..yeah...yeah!!!!
LOVE MELLENCAMP! I'm "small town" from South Whitley, IN. (Population 1200) Always have and always will love John. I love that he's not afraid to speak his mind and always keeps it open, even in conservative Indiana. We need more like him!
Kevin was good leader I thought on the field and but I dont feel that they utlize him in the offense that needed more of soread offense. And 58 run or pass was basically the plays Of Mr.Ben Hubbard which won State Championship and later coached at My High School of Smoke Town New Miami High school after I graduated in 89 class of NMHS period .
Crude, but true - about Indiana, that is, not Mellencamp. I was born in a town in northern Indiana that forbade blacks to be in town after sundown until 1969.
Oh boy... I can stll taste the blood in my mouth.. once , running my mouth to the wrong guy, he had to put me in my place... but hey... the girl said she didn't have a boyfriend. ha ha... 17 has turned 33...
That is just so wrong. The 'N' bomb is definitely directed at black people, not matter how much you think it isn't. And saying that n=ignorant is actually kind of worse. And why are we even taling about this? I'm gettin caught up in all sorts of youtube drama lately...

I must say that a white women dancing with a african american male in those days was a bit of a shock. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH!!!!
Don't know about the instrument in the video but I heard he will blow a skin flute and a male pipe organ.
