Almost superhuman. At this point he was still relatively unknown and players haven't studied his game yet. After that they know his game better and now he has to work harder to get back up again.
I can't think of a more impressive performance by a player for a single tournament. There was some gear that LKY just flicked on to turbo and just left everyone in the dust. Unreal performance.

Reminds me of a young Lin Dan, no doubt great here but definitely not gonna be good nor possible for him in the long run. This type of exertion is usually a phase, hope he changes his playstyle to future proof himself. LZJ is a good example.

@@vidipsahoo4968 Perhaps he means that LZJ was like a one-off phase. I mean, OP is technically correct. LZJ's current record is not what it used to be. His highest was no.2, but he is currently standing at no.14. He did not even make top 10 this year.
@@vidipsahoo4968an all speed and power playstyle (like young lin dan) is not gonna last long due to ageing. You have to be CRAZY conditioned to keep that up. Better to start developing a more well-rounded game like lin dan did from 2010 onwards so your body doesn't get destroyed.

@@mrboast2826 LKY now also has to cope with extra mental pressure. Can be hard in the beginning. I hope he gets used to it.
@@mrboast2826 Either way he is World Champion and nobody can take that away... some of the greats like LCW never won the worlds so LKY will always be a contender now at tournaments just because of this one title

He was always an average player. Nothing special about him. Thats why he is representing SG,because malaysia already has lzj who is way more talented than he is. Yeah lky won the world champ,but he was just a lucky bastard being at the right place at the right time. Other players were not at their best after consecutive tours,led to fatique during world champ.
