You and your team are great. Love how approachable and relatable you guys are. Just signed up to the CSR resource and look forward to learning new skills. Thanks
Autistic level 2 student and long-term client here. What really helps with me is to learn that I can trust my counsellor to be warm and congruent and honest and just to be there for me, and to be ok with communicating in whatever way is most comfortable for me rather than expecting me to sit still in a chair and make good eye contact. If they ask what makes me feel comfortable like CounsellingTutor has said, that reassures me that it's ok for me to 'drop the mask' and helps me to trust the counsellor and allows me to open up more. And when a counsellor is 'with me' enough to start to understand my quirky little metaphors or my different ways of communicating feelings, rapport builds massively and that feels really valuable because a lot of the time neurotypical people expect us neurodivergent people to communicate on their terms. So when someone makes a real effort to tune in to me where I'm at, it means a lot. I hope this helps and that it's been ok.

Thank you for this video, much appreciated!
I agree. Thats how you build trust.
This looks like a good channel. Most duo presenters annoyingly constantly talk across each other!
How to build rapport with client that avoids eye contact such as neuro divergent?
Don't look listen , ask them what makes them feel comfortable
