Yeah, I still remembered there were time that newly acquaintances would converse in Hainan wei with my grandpa, and these acquaintances are(were) from other linguistics minorities of China. What the lyrics say is sad, but Mai Eng has the golden touch with music because she makes this song sounds so nice and rhythmically enjoyable to my ears :)

(that both of my dad'father and my mum'father ) 100 years ago (today 2020), when my dad was 6 years old (he was born in Thailand by Thai mother). My grandfather take him to Hainan. My grandfather said he wanted him to descend at Hainan (our surname/family is Jeam) Grandfather came back to Thailand leave my dad with his stepmother, he was look like alone and sad, Think of and miss his mother, sister, young brother in Thailand. But when long time..while 20 years that my dad stay alive and learn at Hainan, He was normal life, enjoy with his friend school, university, He had sense he's Chinese, he's Hainanese !!! 大约在1981年吧，麻坡海南会馆曾出过海南山歌卡带专辑，采用的音乐都是刘三姐的。当时的我超喜爱专辑里所有的歌，好几首都能朗朗上口。但事隔多年，卡带已经坏了，不知何人还拥有此专辑并保存完好？

許多年輕人都變成華語人了。
爸媽為了孩子起步快，從小就只跟孩子講華語或英語，就連爺爺奶奶也一樣要學華語跟小孩子溝通。殊不知要學華語，上了學，就一定學會。
方言的空間早被國內推行的講華語運動給擠壓變小。學校不准講，家裡不要講。什麼時候開始，講母語變成負面的行為？
華語是母語？但其實方言才是母語啊。講華語很不錯，不講方言才是錯。

我从小就在外公的咖啡店里长大。外公是海南人，从小就耳濡目染，加上母亲和阿姨们都说海南话，所以我自然而然的也学会说海南话。直到现在20多岁，我和母亲/外婆依然会用海南语对话。
