The TV remote uses IR to change the channel so having an IR transparent case makes sense so it has a better chance of hitting the TVs receiver when not pointed directly at it.
If you want to see in the dark just drink lots of carrot juice after a few hours turn off the light in the room, you'll be able to see in the dark. It worked for me, tried it...
I'm wondering if IR diodes are used when shooting a hot knife. I am also interested in which IR diodes are used. (Colorless, light blue ..) I’m interested in this because I used a different webcam but the results are much worse.
The filter you removed looks more like a UV filter (Ultra violet) some pinkish purple color. The IR filter is more like solid red. In any way, no matter what the range of that filter is, it make a incredible difference. I want to remove the filter out of an old SLR camera and replace it with a clear glass filter. Then I want to mount it on a telescope and see what kind of weird pictures we will get of the night sky. Just for interest, using a UV filter on a camera helps a lot to get a clearer picture. The sensor is sensitive to a little bit more UV than the human eye, and it cause a "washed out" look on the photos if it is not fitted with a UV filter, or a screw on UV filter is used on the lens. Thanks for this video, now I'm motivated again to get to that modification project on the SLR camera.
That's not true, NIR cut filters are cyan when looking through them, and has a reddish reflection; if you think about it, if a filter attenuates wavelengths close to red, how can it possibly look red-ish
2:40 that's what i do to check the status of the battery of the remote (when it's low of battery the light will be less intense than when you put new batteries into it).
I tried it with a very simple webcam and it didn't work. The IR filter in this case was round and it seemed that it had an additional function as some kind of pre-lense, because after having removed it the images became extremely blurred. CAN SOMEONE LET ME KNOW WHICH MODELS OF WEBCAMS WORK FOR THIS????
I did comment on that filter that looks more like a UV filter to me (Pinkish purple) IR will be red and it will cause that you will only see back and white. Your camera is very sensitive to the UV range, the other side of the spectrum than IR. That cause the blurred picture, more like a "washed out" picture, and no way to focus it by adjusting the lens. That is exactly why photographers screw on an extra UV filter on the front of their cameras, not only to protect the main lens from dust and scratches. About all SLR cameras (Single Lens Reflect) like Nikon, Canon, already have a UV filter directly over the sensor, but adding one in the front of the lens do no harm, and add to the protection of an expensive lens.
How many turns left to rock the lens without breaking? excellent! If I change the lens for a 3.6mm lens of the same size that it comes with, the one I want to change, which seems to be 12mm, would it work and the angle would change or would it stay the same at 12mm?
Interesting marvellous i wonder if you can see a short on a electronic board with it's electronic components ie resistors transistors surface mount capacitors and Etc. Thank you for your knowledge. And just remembered a long time ago a TV series the original MacGyver made a diy thermal imager and was saving people's lives in a dark abandoned military base.
i would consider buying the coil on ebay that I found ($52), but I am nervous enough about the whole duty fee thing importing into the US. I took the risk on the driver - but have never bought directly from China before. How much xtra did the coil and driver cost you:? (dont know if you are in US).
I think that is how night vision cameras work. for something crude like this where the lens might not be quite as sensitive to IR, then maybe it'll only be very visible if there's infrared light being emitted from somewhere, like say if your chicken coop has a ceramic heat emitter on at night
How much actual power does this draw? Could I use a boost xfmr (110v to 220v) of like 300va (I have 2 of these) ? Would be surprised if that small of an autoxfmr would work - would be like
I got a problem. Me and my dad took out the infrared filter (broke it sadly), and when I tested it on computer, it was the same thing. It didn't seem to detect anything more. The webcam I am using is called LifeCam VX-3000 (Microsoft). I'm almost certain that the filter was taken out. Could it be possible that the camera originally didn't detect a lot of the electromagnetic spectrum, or did we do something wrong?
@Electrical Projects [CreativeLab] , I got same camera (Trust Spotlight Pro Webcam w/ LED Lights) and I removed the IR filter but camera still shows same/ normal image/video, may I ask if you are using any specific software ?
No, that is different. Thermal camera sense the heat that the body emit, and very expensive. This is IR and pick up reflected light in the IR range. Somewhat of the same thing but not really. To go technical on that will be a long story. With a thermal camera you will see no real good picture, but just grading of heat differences.
Hi, unfortunately no. Humans and animals produce much longer waves, in order to detect that the sensor has to be made from completely different materials.
Hello need your help.. is't possible to capture a light projected horizontal to the camera? any light source a demo would be grateful. early response is much appreciated....
Hi. I need your help. I had underwater camera with was worked with white LED but somehow water destroy cam and I bought new part only camera . I didn't put attention that was IR light cam. Camera itself works but no lights. Like you understand under water I need the light. How I can convert IR to Led. Thanks in advance
Hi, Bro... Does Trust spot light Pro after removing filter can see in complet zero light or in complete dark...? I mean only in Invisible IR rays light... ? Plz reply Bro
What happened if light is totally off then what type of outcome is record by your camera...? Plz answer because i am interstated to build this type of thermal camera..
I don't know whether every camera has IR filter installed on its lens. Probably some cameras have a filter installed on its sensor, so it will be difficult if not impossible to remove such filter.
Ya right that’s why you slow the video down on the dark test with hot knife, and with remote you changed the casing or grabbed a different remote because your video isn’t syncing up
Very cool. I’m going to be using this modification. Thanks. At 0:39, “removing,” at 1:40, “wavelength,” respectfully, the “v” sounds are voiced “f” sounds, like humming while making an “f” sound. Regards. DP Henderson, NV, USA
Try to place a ring of wire with thickness of removed filter glas piece so the near sensor lens is at same distance as before. Or have you reinstalled it backwards?
I wonder if this could detect ghosts, I am looking for a ghosts detector schematic if you know of one. Some say they pick up magnetic field with store bought ones. Would be fantastic if you could make one to show us. Many people are trying to make them. I have a old 16 channel dvr with lots of cameras to try this one. My new high definition cameras replaced them but now they have 1080p out so when this dvr goes out I will upgrade. But the old 420 fps camera's are not being used so will try this project. If heat is required I don't think ghosts give off heat. But sounds like a fun project anyways. Thanks for all your video's.
I personally don't believe in ghosts, but even if I did, I don't know what to look for. There is a lot of spectrum to look for, starting with sound waves, and radio waves and ending with x-rays and other stuff, some equipment will be pretty cheap and some will be hugely expensive. I only heard that people use static electricity detectors for that. But I don't know much about ghosts detection.

Oh yeah damn wasn t thinking about that lol
Thanks mate
😢😅😅😅😅
so can we just take the IR filter out of our eyes so we can see it?
Interesting question :) I think we don't have such filters in eyes, I think our retina just is not sensitive to IR light.

Which camera is that cause that seems like it was very easy to remove the ir filter
Hi, it is Trust SpotLight Pro.
Electrical Projects [Creative Lab] thanks
Hey Man. I made my own IR Camera just like you show on this vídeo. Thank you very much!
I believe you can also put in a infrared only filter to block out visible light
Interesting !
I used two glass pieces at 90 degree angle from polarized glasses to block visible light
So happy to see the word "склад" on the bottle! I hope you're doing well

Hi, if it does not look like a lens then it is probably IR filter. IR filter looks like a piece of glass with reddish or greenish tint.
excellent video, can you make a video of some solution that absorbs IR light, just like this video, where you demo materials that absorb IR light

it is actually a near-ir rejecting filter. it rejects wavelengths longer than around 700 nm.

Try to put a filter for visible light and UV, you will see during night
can we use any desktop webcam for this hack....?
I think yes, you can use any webcam as long as it can fit in the housing.
Can I connect this camera to my iphone? If yes, then how do I do it?
Cool stuff 🙂
Can it see body heat?
No, it cannot. Body heat has a much longer wavelength, a regular camera matrix is not sensitive to it.
How to make a webcam with 840nm ir or 950nm ir see under ground I mean to penetrate ground
