- ET’s Lauren Zima spoke with Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison about what fans can expect after this week’s jam-packed ‘The Bachelorette,’ airing Tuesdays on ABC. Harrison opened up about Clare Crawley seemingly favoring Dale since the season premiere, and how this season’s events demonstrate there’s ‘no blueprint’ to this franchise. Well, his brand was already romance! Harrison tells us about partnering with Manly Bands and his new ring line for men.

She keeps talking about how she’s older so is so mature and knows what she wants... but she’s acting like a 13yr old. Run for the hills Dale!

What’s wrong to me is I agree with Chris...this isn’t just an experience for Clare like she thinks it is, this is also about the men finding love and she wasn’t being fair to them. If she didn’t want to get to know everyone she shouldn’t have came on the show.

Everyone is hating on Clare, but there were extenuating circumstances. She had MONTHS to check out all the men, and guaranteed (my opinion) she liked Dale the best, and this is BEFORE the show started getting taped. So what was she supposed to do? Tell them that she'd rather not be a part of it (break the contract)? Well, there's no way she could be positive that she had made the right choice without going through some episodes. So she went through some episodes. Sure, she wasn't right in leading the other men on.....which in fact, she didn't really do. She was absolutely 'love struck' from the beginning....after seeing him in person. I think most of us have been 'blind' at one time or another. Anyway, she's 39 years old, and to her way of thinking, this was her one real chance of a lifetime of love. I hope things turn out well for her.....and Dale.

What I wonder is WHY, if they didn’t want to drag out the Zach situation, did they allow him to get dressed and show up to the dinner? Why couldn’t Chris (if it had to be Chris doing this) go to his hotel room and tell him there?

They did it for the DRAMA of it all, which should also give everyone an indication of how heavily edited this show is to get a rise out of people. The more awkward, strange, weird and uncomfortable moments, the easier it is to create a narrative and a storyline. No one would be talking much about Zach if he was allowed to slip away after the pool incident, which was very uncomfortable but it didn't create a kind of sad scenario where he was being stood up on TV and that would allow people to somehow make Clare into the villain when Zach crossed a line. I am not saying that Zach is a bad person but consent can be withdrawn at any point in our interactions and just because someone had at one moment opened the door to it, does not make the other person entitled to keep pushing.

Clare became an "advance" bridezilla with giving herself that rose. She was saying, "I don't give a crap what anyone else thinks - this is all about me and anyone else's feelings can just go take a leap.

Very true that these “behind the curtain” scenes with Clare calling Dale her fiancé and then moments where she says she wants to wrap up the date with the other guys, etc. is actually very important for the audience to see exactly where her head is at. Before the season even started, they were communicating during quarantine. Already developed a relationship so she had to play that role for as long as she could but Yosef caught on pretty quick and called her out

Claira Kotyk exactly thats what annoys me about her more than anything. Talking about not wasting anyones time and shes wasting all of theirs. I didnt expect her to be so outright like this in what shes been saying and how shes been acting in the episodes. All the potential on the show and shes zeroed in without even knowing anything about this man except her huge attraction to him.

i love Chris Harrison and Lauren, both of them are keeping it real! I watched like 3 different recaps (Nick Viall's, Ashley I's, and Chatty Broads) and they were all waaaaay too defensive of Clare. To the point that it seemed ridiculous. There's a huge double standard. If this was a bachelor acting this way, everyone would be all over calling him a douche.
You should check out Bachelor Fantake! I feel like his takes aren't necessarily harsh towards Clare but he definitely doesn't make as many excuses for her as Chatty Broads did this past week (I haven't watched Nicks or Ashley I's). Also his videos are a lot shorter than the podcast format and he does some really funny editing stuff.

I'm assuming the trauma she's spent years healing is physical and/or sexual in nature. I get her sensitivity. Claire is a first class drama queen but I don't blame her for this one.

He was confused (and that’s valid because she went in to kiss him and stopped) and had good intentions I think, but definitely got very handsy and didn’t know when to back down. Sure pulling her towards him once might have been okay, but he kept trying and pulling at her and that triggered her and seemed aggressive to me! I honestly don’t blame her for being scared by it.

You're right - Zack didn't pull back - I think she just couldn't bring herself to kiss someone other than Dale, but truth be told, she shouldn't have gotten that close to a kiss. There are lots of ways to friend zone a guy you don't want that with.

I’m semi-new to this whole franchise, I just started watching halfway through Hannah Brown’s season but from what I saw from Hannah, the girls in paradise, and Peter’s girls...Clare is by far the most immature or unstable or something. She just should not have committed to this. I can hardly stand listening to her talk. And making the guys feel like shit every single day for the pettiest stuff just because she wants to trim the fat and get down to Dale as soon as possible is so wrong. I don’t think Zack was a bad guy at all, I think she 100% created that uncomfortable moment in the pool and then turned it around and made him feel like he traumatized her. Again, all because she whines and pouts any time she’s not with Dale. To go in for a kiss, stop, run away, and then make the guy feel like he triggered your PTSD and not even give him a chance to talk through what happened is insane. I know calling girls crazy isn’t really acceptable anymore but that was just fucking crazy. Those poor guys keep getting chewed out and shamed just so she can create an environment where Dale comes to comfort her. Zack deserved a conversation.
