    Just a thought, get rid of the garage door openers, take down the tracks, and put in a Jack Shaft opener. Very quiet, and opens up a bunch of headroom when door is open.

      Funny you should mention that... I am in the process of finding my first supercar and I may try to install a lift so I can stack my new car on top and keep the daily driver down low. Only bad thing is ceiling is 9ft.. supercar is just under 48” tall. Gotta do some math to see if it will work or it will be time to raise the ceiling. Thanks for the feedback.

    Hey love it love it love it. Just bought new house yesterday. Garage is a clean slate. I am big fan of OG, Rick@RAD and Pan. Questions- sooo many questions? You dropped in a mop sink/ washer but i did not see on the video the outgoing drains.? The deion water system from where? How long whole process and most importantly- Anything you do differently now? Thx for any info you could give. 🙏👍

    • @opticallycorrectdetails
      @opticallycorrectdetails  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotta love a blank slate... I assume you are asking about the floor drains... I did not put in a floor drain. I did a lot of water flow testing on the existing floor to see where the water went when I soaked the floor. fortunately for me the water flowed directly out the doors. I did find one small low spot right next to my mop sink but the water evaporates within 12 hours so it was not a standing water concern. The Swisstrax flooring is designed to allow the water to flow freely so no issues with the flooring holding up water. The Pressure washer system with DI tanks came from @obsessedgarage. I did do my own piping instead of the aluminum piping OG sells. My research showed that DI water and aluminum is not a good long term relationship. It took me about 5-6 months (during covid) to complete the garage. I think installing a mop sink was one of the best things I did... I love the flexibility of using the sink. I also love the Washer/Dryer combo unit for washing towels... it runs on 110 and doesn't need to be vented. takes about 2 hours to do a load (washes and dries in same unit). The wash curtain that I put in the garage is a no-brainer... it was only $390 and sections off my garage so when I am slinging water on the 2 car side... the car sitting in the single side doesn't get wet. I did have a mini split (with ceiling cassette) installed so it is heated and cooled... makes it nice when we get the extreme Indiana weather. I love talking about my garage and would love to help you out in anyway I can.... Let me know if you have anymore questions or concerns. Thanks for the feedback.

    How long is that vacuum hose? I want a longer one for my Ridgid 4-gallon but didn't want the expense of getting a reel. The little garden hose holder you're using appears to work well enough.

    • @opticallycorrectdetails

    • @opticallycorrectdetails
      @opticallycorrectdetails  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ashdash3833 my garage has enough slope where it all drains naturally to the big doors. Plus I have AC in garage so the moisture is never there for more than a few hours. Not sure how much a floor drain would cost.

    • @opticallycorrectdetails

      When I built the "water wall" I used OSB instead of drywall that way I didn't have to worry about finding studs when I mounted most of the items. So basically I just used wood screws. Hope that helps.

    Did you get your spotless from OG? Do you know if that’s prevost piping for your system?

    • @opticallycorrectdetails
      @opticallycorrectdetails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did get the spotless from OG. I did not get the piping he recommended. I used some blue pvc and shark bite fittings from Home Depot (online). Works great and was less than $125. I did some research and found that aluminum piping does not play well with deionized water.

    • @lmSteveo
      @lmSteveo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@opticallycorrectdetails thanks for the reply. I’ll do some research on pex pipe. What are you thoughts on the swisstrax? Did you get their tile cutter or did you just rent 1 at Home Depot? Did you seal the concrete floor before you added the titles?

    • @opticallycorrectdetails
      @opticallycorrectdetails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lmSteveo did not seal the garage floor. I did verify that the floor was properly sloped and drains out the doors for the most part. From my experience the biggest tile cutter you can rent is 12” wide and that’s too small for the Swisstrax. I used my battery powered 3” skill saw to cut the tiles. It kind of melts the cut edge but it pulls right off and gives you a pretty good straight edge. The tile cutter OG has is over $700.

    • @lmSteveo
