What if you have a large document and you just want to select a few pages (consecutive pages) somewhere in the middle of the document - any way to do that easily? Thank you - great tips!

Yes. Use F5 and F8 - here I am in a video doing this in Word. th-cam.com/video/jQtEURi7kF8/w-d-xo.html

My problem is that I usually only want to highlight a few words or only a part of a sentence, and it drives me nuts when the highlight then jumps to include words that I don't want. I end up running out of patience, just selecting what it gives me and then manually deleting what it covered that I didn't want to copy over, or rewriting what I didn't want to delete. I suspect there is some kind of "smart" selection feature at work here, because none of my other software does this. Is there any way I can get rid of this feature and have it select only what I mouse over?

on my touch portable touch screen, when using Microsoft word, I touch any where on a word the curser automatically appears to the end of the word instead of into the space between letters where
I actually touched it. where as with my mouse the curser appears exactly where I put it even in-between the letters in the middle of a word. I like that touch feature because you do not have to aim as precisely and then the curser ends up at the end of the word so your quickly ready to type. Question; Can I get my mouse to do that? Can I get my mouse top land the curser after the word instead of in the middle of the word (by accident) just like my touch screen does, is there some setting I can change on my mouse to do that. ??

Great video and thanks for sharing these quick techniques. Need you help with this annoying issue. When I click and highlight a document, the cursor doesn't highlight what I've selected and either highlights other words or moves random words around. I've searched TH-cam and the internet for a solution and got nothing. Please, Please, Please Help.

I know it’s weird but is there any way I can highlight a text with just a single click without having to hold the shift button or having to double click? It’ll be more convenient for me at my job

To select just _one_ word, click on the word, you don't have to highlight it, and then you can use Bold, Italics, Underline, etc. To select a sentence, hold CTRL and click and the sentence is selected.

Is there a way to unselect some words among a selected paragraph?
