The last look that Maelys gave her completely wrecked me like “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you, I love you”. The most tragic part of this story is the Dragons deaths because they’re innocent and being used to fight

I just wish they didn't rob her. In the book she was actually fighting 2v1 and took down sunfyre and aegon. It was such a bad ass death for a badass woman. The show completely robbed her and made her death meaningless

They definitely showed Aemond trying to kill his brother with his dragon and a sword at the end. Rhaenys and Meleys death just broke my heart. It seemed like every time they were going to fly away, Meley's would glance back at Rhaenys as if to say they couldn't run and this was the best chance to kill Vhagar and avoid more bloodshed. And that last glance from Meleys before she dies while gripped by Vhagar. 😭😭😭💔💔💔 They will be so missed! Also how cute and special were Rhaenys and Aegons moments with their dragons before they flew to battle? Just shows how incredible the dragon/rider bond is.
I think Aemond was just prepared for battle while looking for his brother of vhagar but he def hit him with the dracarys prior so they can go either way. They sure wanted us to know Cole thought so that's why he called out his name when he saw him like "stop!"
@@danielhughes5932 Aemond was trying to, at the *very least*, maim Aegon. I’m fairly sure he was actually trying to find a way to kill him. That is also why he didn’t ‘allow’ Vhagar to enter the fight when the signal was given. He wanted Meleys and Rhaenys to do their best to Aegon & Sunfyre, thus possibly killing his brother, while also wearing The Red Queen and her rider down at the same time. He would have been only too happy if they had killed the King and his mount. He would also get the benefit of looking like the hero when he rose up and slaughtered the ones who harmed the king. We can literally see Aemond say, “fuck it, I will just burn them all”, when he enters the fight and lets loose with Vhagar’s fiery breath, engulfing both smaller dragons and their riders. He wants Aegon out of the picture, so he can take the throne… just like he has always wanted.
nope u got it all wrong. vhagar needed to kill meleys with fire but couldnt do it becuase of sunfyre. sunfyre got in the way.the sword was for puting in sheath its clear. he was using it for def. having aegon idiot bedridden would now compliocate mak claim hard for greens now but didnt have any way.
The moment where Rhaenys and Meleys look at each other moments before they fall to their death.. Damn I've never seen a more emotional moment. You can see the emotion from the dragon on its face! Top class!
Sir, Allison wasn't at the small council because she was looking for the story of A Song of Fire and Ice. She spent the whole episode trying to find anything. This is why she had all the history books on her table AND why she was in Aegon's room looking for the books he had removed.

You forgot about a very important fact. Prince Baelon and Princess Alyssa were the parents of King Viserys and Daemon. Vhagar was once Baelon’s dragon and Meleys was once Alyssa’s dragon so for a period of time Vhagar and Meleys were probably quite close to each other
I think it’s a nice connection that Aegon’s dragon is named Sunfyre in the common tongue, but all the Rhaenyra’s dragons have names of Valyrian origin. Syrax, Meleys, Caraxes, Vermax etc
Catlyn wasn't protecting Jon, but Robb. And Rhaenys didn't hate Alyn. She was urging Corlys to raise him as royal. She was meant to be shown as better than Caitlyn.

I had a really hard time watching the dragons fighting this episode. Sometimes when the show is hard to watch, turning away helps. But that didnt even help during the battle because the dragons crying out still felt like listening to a dog whimpering. Basically, everything really felt like a huge gut punch and now im crying over multiple CGI dragons
I feel you man I felt so sad for sunfire. And even meleys she died like a champ. I really think at that point meleys should have retreated. Live to fight another day and even thought meleys was a battle ready dragon I feel like she wasn’t in her prime and she could of needed a bit more set up to be ready to go against vaghar

The blood on Daemon's hands wasn't Weirwood sap or anything real. It was a symbol of all the blood on his hands and it was meant to be Rhaenyra's blood. We know because he wakes up, sees the blood, looks away as the drapes are opened and then looks back at his hand and it's gone. The only weirwood juice we see was when Alys Rivers was mixing up his weirwood paste for his awakening.
It was so epic to see how the age and battle hardness of the dragons and their riders was so evident in that battle. Rhaenys and Meleys bodied Sunfire and would had bodied Vagar if both dragons were the same size. Ameon knows that Vagar's size carried him.
@@j19rmz Granny Vhagar probably learnt that during the Dornish war. The Dornish troops would hide in the sand and underground to avoid dragons, similar to how the Vietcong troops would hide in the trees and bushes to avoid American choppers.
It sucks but if she left, Aemond might have pursued anyway and brought the fight to Dragonstone… She knew she basically had to try to end it here, potentially save tens of thousands of lives and her family.

When Meleys gave her last glance to Rhaenys before she died hit me so hard😭. I have more pity for the dying dragons than the humans in this show. One of the saddest and heartbreaking episodes in GoT lore.
This was easily the best episode so far. I like that this series unlike the first embraces the more mystical elements of a song of ice and fire. There actually is tactics being used that aemond trap was so good. I like the subtly of aemond using high vocabulary in Valyrian while aegon uses basic vocabulary as a way of showing aemond always took his role seriously unlike aegon.
Vhagar the biggest living dragon is also somehow a ninja. The book ending was more fitting for Rhaenys and Meleys. She's more experienced with a faster dragon, but big ass Vhagar surprised both dragon and rider. Ridiculous

Its is totally viable that vhagar could hide in the woods they don't have dragon radar.... They cut down trees so the dragon could fit into the woods under the high leaves. Yes its big but it's not impossible to hide.

Rhaenys was honestly my favorite character, so her death was quite a hit. I had hoped she would be around for much longer. Why the hell she didn’t flee after injuring Vhagar is beyond me.
The fault of aegon not being suited to rule was aegons. Aemond was the second son of someone not thought to be a potential heir. He took the time to be a martial fighter and was willing to marry lord Baratheons daughters showing he knows how to make alliances. He’s not a good person in the slightest but he took his role seriously unlike aegon
I haven’t felt this way with any series or movie since the Dino battle in Jurassic world. This episode made me feel so emotional, excited , sad , and hyped! It’s been almost 10 years since anything has made me this way. This episode was epic ! By far the best episode in all GOT and house of the dragon!
Sunfyre and Meleys were two more unnecessary casualties tonight. Aegon had zero reason to be there nor blindly attack with Sunfyre. Meleys had made her mark and should have just flown home. Rhaeyns knew it too. Now here I am emotional over cgi dragons dying on a Sunday night. P.S. I’d love a “what if” Meleys wasn’t the only “Team Black” dragon present. If only Vermithor had been claimed by now…

And she is proactively trying to save her granddaughters and Rhaenyra. She knows she has to wound Vhagar or try to bring her down, if not she’ll triumph over the other dragons and kill her remaining family. It was do or die for her.
I took it as she saw Meleys was very injured so maybe couldnt do much more but try but she also seemed to fly back over the bay towards home but then vhagar came up over the castle
@@robsooooz i took it as....they couldnt have her die in the first clash like in the books because thats what everybody is expecting so have rhaenys separate after sunfyre goes down and now all the people who thought they knew what was going to happen dont... but they still need her character to end there so she has to turn back and die in a pointless attempt in a 1v1 vs vhagar in broad daylight with no surprise and on an injured meleys it didnt come off well, imo.

Cat did make the protection wheel for Jon but she didn’t honour her promise to the Seven, to raise Jon as if he was her own and have Ned legitimise him. Also Cat in the Books still hates Jon, refusing to have him be Robb’s heir. Edit: Rhaenys, on the other hand, was actually quite nice to Alyn, she clearly doesn’t like that Corlys cheated on her but she believes he should be honoured because he did save Corlys life.
Interesting detail about the execution scene. When Lord Darklyn tell Criston that he isn't worthy of the white cloak, he is a valid authority on the matter because there has been more knights from House Darkly than any other house. The 7 white shields on their sigil represents the 7 Darklyn knights who were members of the Kingsguard.
Really love the friendly fire from aegon and aemonds dragons really shows how dragon warfare sucks for everyone who doesnt have a dragons and even for those who do.
The shot where rhaenys locks her dragon seatbelt (?!) on malys is a sign that she is going to live by the code of the dragon riders and die with her dragon.
Shows the growth of the character. Hes ruthless now. Its about winning this war and claiming power. Aemond was the power at the table while planning this. Hes not who he was when lucerys was killed
Just going to make a quick note here at 7:07 I can’t remember who or what video mentioned this, but they mentioned that the three dogs and the black goat are also sigils of houses that have or will one day, inherit Harrenhal. Three dogs is the sigil of House Clegane. The Mountain is gifted Harrenhal (temporarily) in the future. Meanwhile another house, had the sigil of a black goat on their banners. I do love this vid, and exploration of lore. Well done!

Noticed a fun Easter Egg. It's one of those "blink and you'll miss it moments." At around the 29:12 minute mark of this episode, Daemon drinks whatever Alys Rivers made for him to sleep better at night. When Daemon comes to (regains consciousness) there's a cool rolling fade-in camera shot (a camera trick seen in Dune Part 1 -- The Gom Jabbar scene -- but in reverse). It's a great use of camera work to help enhance the character's moment of confusion, disjointedness or awakened from an almost dream like state. Overall, this episode was awesome! R.I.P. Princess Rhaenys -- The Queen who never was.
This may have been the best episode of the season. So layered in nuance. I knew how Raenys and Meleys came to their end, but still couldn't believe how deeply I felt. The way Meleys nuzzled her before they set out reminded of a loving relationship between a horse and their rider. I caught the feels. Great writing, directing and acting all at once.
The dragons bellowing overhead was just incredible, I think they got the awe like beauty, and complete terrifying feeling of death these creatures really give off 😮💨👏🏾🔥.
I suggest you people read the books Fire and Blood this succession started with Aenys I children Maelor and Aegon uncrowned wanted the crown but it was really the first born Rhaena crown. She should been Queen.
Did anyone else get the feeling that Larys and maybe the others understood High Valyrian? I would imagine if your rulers speak a language you’d want to learn it to be privy to conversation… it seemed as though Larys definitely understood, the maester might have, and the other two were going primarily on vibes and cadence to get the jist… I definitely won’t be shocked if we learn Larys speaks it later on..
Mate- 26:40 - the way they shot Rhaenys falling is also very reminiscent of that scene from Doctor Strangelove where Kong rides the bomb to his death. The shot of her falling with her nuclear metaphor is basically the opposite- composed and poised- whereas Slim Pickens is waving his hat around and goin "Yahoo!!"
Her death was so sad, you can tell she was not gonna come home from that battle. I think the fact that knowing Corlys has a bastard made her lose hope in life. When you see meleys after getting tangled with vhagar the first time, meleys wanted to retreat and looked back at rhaenys. The princess then turned her back to attack again. She was not coming home from the battle.
this is actually the best rationalization ive seen yet but still.... it does seem kinda selfish for a seasoned warrior to take the best weapon they had and do a "daylight charge across the minefield" for the first attack
Perhaps the reason why Rhaenys went back to attack was that she wanted to 'finish the job' this time. In previous episodes, Daemon somewhat blamed her for not burning Aegon when she had the chance.
The backstory is what makes this fight even more horrible and heart-breaking. Vhagar was the dragon of Rhaeny's uncle and her daughter. Not to mention, Meleyes and Vhagar were the dragons of the siblings and married couple, Alyssa and Baelon- so would have spent many years riding around together. One of the main points in this show is the idea that the god's hate kin-slaying more than anything. You have Targs killing each other but I think the Dragon's killing each other which is what leads to the removal of magic from the world and ofcourse, the eventual downfall of the Targs.
I'll believe Vhagar hiding behind the castle and cliffs a little more than I'll believe Dany Flying in open air not seeing the fleet behind some rocks. That seems the be Vhagars special finishing move. That exactly how he killed the little prince.
@@doro626 Rook's rest is small keep but being cliffside keep it's possible for Vhagar to cling on the side. But yeah Vhagar does seem to use sneak tactics repeatedly and notice how Aemond always does not have any armour on. It's gonna come into play in future.
@@doro626 you guys need to learn that being in the air doesnt mean you see all things. or else anti air wouldnt be a thing now would it? try it yourself. go buy a drone and stand in your front yard, now have your buddy stand in the back yard with a rifle. now fly over your house and after you get shot down...tell us if you even know where in the back yard he was hiding. you see the issue is, being in the air makes it easier for them to see you not you to see them.
Regarding the ashen soldier: There was also an incident in 1960s New Orleans, the Upstairs Lounge Fire, where one of the deceased was caught halfway in / halfway out of a window. His remains were so badly incinerated that the following day they infamously crumbled to ash and fell onto the sidewalk below, in full view of horrified onlookers. I wasn't there myself, but just reading about it has stuck in my mind for about twenty years.
The scene showing Vhagar listening to Aemond in the forest shows how he has leaned to control her and the dragons and riders he is about to kill won't be accidents.
i think vhagar just does what aemon wants which isnt exactly what aemon says. i think he wanted to kill lucerys so vhagar did. he may have said "oh no dont do that" but he did hate him, he did chase him on dragonback, and he did smile when it was done. vhagar isnt a politician, she just reads the riders actual intentions. at least thats how im interpenetrating it
@@suzukisixk7 To me the incident with Lucerys was showing us that even though Aemond has been with Vhagar for a number of years he still hadn't learned how to utilize/control such a seasoned/mature dragon. It showed that he didn't understand the responsibility. You can speak all the High Velaryon you want but if you don't truly take command the dragon will rely on it's own instincts.
It could be because of my recent rewatch of Jaws, but seeing the tips of Vhagar’s wings over the treetops felt kind of like a homage. I dismissed it, but then Rhaenys straps herself into her saddle when she starts going after Aemond and Vhagar… Like Quint!
Also I noticed how when Aemond was lying in wait, he was able to stop Vhagar from launching, showing hes in control. If you said it I'm sorry i missed it but great video!

I wonder how Caraxes will hold up against Vhagar since I feel like the long neck is a bit of a disadvantage for another dragon to grab, like what was done to Meleys.
Rhaenys did what she needed to be done. She missed her chance to burn during Aegon's coneration. She went down like a gangsta when she mortally wounded Vhagar and Sunfyre, so she knew what she was doing and martyred herself.😢
What I find most interesting about the Song of Ice and Fire (the secrecy and the fact that it was passed down from king to heir) is that it ended up not mattering at all that the person was actually on the throne by the time the threat came.

The way she snuck up on sunfire only to have the same thing done to her by VAGGAR 😔 The satisfaction on Aemonds face when Meleys & Rhaeyns went down pissed me off😡 Hold up tho, when Larys,,, lowdown ass was reading Alicent like 📕 had me gagging 😮😂 Then way Alicent said do what you’re good at “NOTHING” NGL I actually felt so bad for Aegon. Right after His bro just humiliated That shit broke him. All he wants is to be seen heard respected & most importantly loved by his mother. This show display so much of real life family dynamics…a mother’s love is so vital in a child’s life. When a boy is broken & unloved by his mother, he grows into a broken man who doesn’t know what love feels like.they only know pain. When you’re rejected by mon this is deeply internalized & is so detrimental on a child. This show is delaying the effects of childhood TRAUMA. And what happens when you don’t heal from it.
I think Rhaenys was also grieving that her man was not only unfaithful but hiding an heir in slums, her boy their son died. In her mind she had no one else. She come to go out n one final battle. So in her death he could bring his dragon seeds from hiding. Where they belonged. The queens sacrifice tactic move.

They definitely showed Aemond trying to kill his brother with his dragon and a sword at the end. Rhaenys and Meleys death just broke my heart. It seemed like every time they were going to fly away, Meley's would glance back at Rhaenys as if to say they couldn't run and this was the best chance to kill Vhagar and avoid more bloodshed. And that last glance from Meleys before she dies while gripped by Vhagar. 😭😭😭💔💔💔 They will be so missed! Also how cute and special were Rhaenys and Aegons moments with their dragons before they flew to battle? Just shows how incredible the dragon/rider bond is.
I think Aemond was just prepared for battle while looking for his brother of vhagar but he def hit him with the dracarys prior so they can go either way. They sure wanted us to know Cole thought so that's why he called out his name when he saw him like "stop!"
No, at the end Aemond was going to put Sunfyre out of his misery. And he should have.

That is also why he didn’t ‘allow’ Vhagar to enter the fight when the signal was given. He wanted Meleys and Rhaenys to do their best to Aegon & Sunfyre, thus possibly killing his brother, while also wearing The Red Queen and her rider down at the same time. He would have been only too happy if they had killed the King and his mount. He would also get the benefit of looking like the hero when he rose up and slaughtered the ones who harmed the king. We can literally see Aemond say, “fuck it, I will just burn them all”, when he enters the fight and lets loose with Vhagar’s fiery breath, engulfing both smaller dragons and their riders. He wants Aegon out of the picture, so he can take the throne… just like he has always wanted.
nope u got it all wrong. vhagar needed to kill meleys with fire but couldnt do it becuase of sunfyre. sunfyre got in the way.the sword was for puting in sheath its clear. he was using it for def. having aegon idiot bedridden would now compliocate mak claim hard for greens now but didnt have any way.

You forgot about a very important fact. Prince Baelon and Princess Alyssa were the parents of King Viserys and Daemon. Vhagar was once Baelon’s dragon and Meleys was once Alyssa’s dragon so for a period of time Vhagar and Meleys were probably quite close to each other
I think it’s a nice connection that Aegon’s dragon is named Sunfyre in the common tongue, but all the Rhaenyra’s dragons have names of Valyrian origin. Syrax, Meleys, Caraxes, Vermax etc

I had a really hard time watching the dragons fighting this episode. Sometimes when the show is hard to watch, turning away helps. But that didnt even help during the battle because the dragons crying out still felt like listening to a dog whimpering. Basically, everything really felt like a huge gut punch and now im crying over multiple CGI dragons
I feel you man I felt so sad for sunfire. And even meleys she died like a champ. I really think at that point meleys should have retreated. Live to fight another day and even thought meleys was a battle ready dragon I feel like she wasn’t in her prime and she could of needed a bit more set up to be ready to go against vaghar

The blood on Daemon's hands wasn't Weirwood sap or anything real. It was a symbol of all the blood on his hands and it was meant to be Rhaenyra's blood. We know because he wakes up, sees the blood, looks away as the drapes are opened and then looks back at his hand and it's gone. The only weirwood juice we see was when Alys Rivers was mixing up his weirwood paste for his awakening.

It was so epic to see how the age and battle hardness of the dragons and their riders was so evident in that battle. Rhaenys and Meleys bodied Sunfire and would had bodied Vagar if both dragons were the same size. Ameon knows that Vagar's size carried him.
The fact that Vhaegar seemingly had stealth capabilites was why he won.
Yeah its crazy how twice Vagar has snuck up on dragons. His size shouldn’t allow for him to be that quiet and that fast.

When Meleys gave her last glance to Rhaenys before she died hit me so hard😭. I have more pity for the dying dragons than the humans in this show. One of the saddest and heartbreaking episodes in GoT lore.
This was easily the best episode so far. I like that this series unlike the first embraces the more mystical elements of a song of ice and fire. There actually is tactics being used that aemond trap was so good. I like the subtly of aemond using high vocabulary in Valyrian while aegon uses basic vocabulary as a way of showing aemond always took his role seriously unlike aegon.
Vhagar the biggest living dragon is also somehow a ninja. The book ending was more fitting for Rhaenys and Meleys. She's more experienced with a faster dragon, but big ass Vhagar surprised both dragon and rider. Ridiculous

Rhaenys was honestly my favorite character, so her death was quite a hit. I had hoped she would be around for much longer. Why the hell she didn’t flee after injuring Vhagar is beyond me.

The fault of aegon not being suited to rule was aegons. Aemond was the second son of someone not thought to be a potential heir. He took the time to be a martial fighter and was willing to marry lord Baratheons daughters showing he knows how to make alliances. He’s not a good person in the slightest but he took his role seriously unlike aegon
I haven’t felt this way with any series or movie since the Dino battle in Jurassic world. This episode made me feel so emotional, excited , sad , and hyped! It’s been almost 10 years since anything has made me this way. This episode was epic ! By far the best episode in all GOT and house of the dragon!

Sunfyre and Meleys were two more unnecessary casualties tonight. Aegon had zero reason to be there nor blindly attack with Sunfyre. Meleys had made her mark and should have just flown home. Rhaeyns knew it too.
Now here I am emotional over cgi dragons dying on a Sunday night.
P.S. I’d love a “what if” Meleys wasn’t the only “Team Black” dragon present. If only Vermithor had been claimed by now…

I feel like rhaenys purposely died or accepted her fate because she knew her death would unite the blacks more than ever now and make them stronger.
And she is proactively trying to save her granddaughters and Rhaenyra. She knows she has to wound Vhagar or try to bring her down, if not she’ll triumph over the other dragons and kill her remaining family. It was do or die for her.

Cat did make the protection wheel for Jon but she didn’t honour her promise to the Seven, to raise Jon as if he was her own and have Ned legitimise him. Also Cat in the Books still hates Jon, refusing to have him be Robb’s heir.
Edit: Rhaenys, on the other hand, was actually quite nice to Alyn, she clearly doesn’t like that Corlys cheated on her but she believes he should be honoured because he did save Corlys life.

When Lord Darklyn tell Criston that he isn't worthy of the white cloak, he is a valid authority on the matter because there has been more knights from House Darkly than any other house. The 7 white shields on their sigil represents the 7 Darklyn knights who were members of the Kingsguard.
Really love the friendly fire from aegon and aemonds dragons really shows how dragon warfare sucks for everyone who doesnt have a dragons and even for those who do.

Just going to make a quick note here at 7:07 I can’t remember who or what video mentioned this, but they mentioned that the three dogs and the black goat are also sigils of houses that have or will one day, inherit Harrenhal. Three dogs is the sigil of House Clegane. The Mountain is gifted Harrenhal (temporarily) in the future. Meanwhile another house, had the sigil of a black goat on their banners. I do love this vid, and exploration of lore. Well done!

Noticed a fun Easter Egg. It's one of those "blink and you'll miss it moments." At around the 29:12 minute mark of this episode, Daemon drinks whatever Alys Rivers made for him to sleep better at night. When Daemon comes to (regains consciousness) there's a cool rolling fade-in camera shot (a camera trick seen in Dune Part 1 -- The Gom Jabbar scene -- but in reverse). It's a great use of camera work to help enhance the character's moment of confusion, disjointedness or awakened from an almost dream like state. Overall, this episode was awesome!

This may have been the best episode of the season. So layered in nuance. I knew how Raenys and Meleys came to their end, but still couldn't believe how deeply I felt. The way Meleys nuzzled her before they set out reminded of a loving relationship between a horse and their rider. I caught the feels. Great writing, directing and acting all at once.
The dragons bellowing overhead was just incredible, I think they got the awe like beauty, and complete terrifying feeling of death these creatures really give off 😮💨👏🏾🔥.

Mate- 26:40 - the way they shot Rhaenys falling is also very reminiscent of that scene from Doctor Strangelove where Kong rides the bomb to his death. The shot of her falling with her nuclear metaphor is basically the opposite- composed and poised- whereas Slim Pickens is waving his hat around and goin "Yahoo!!"
Her death was so sad, you can tell she was not gonna come home from that battle. I think the fact that knowing Corlys has a bastard made her lose hope in life. When you see meleys after getting tangled with vhagar the first time, meleys wanted to retreat and looked back at rhaenys. The princess then turned her back to attack again. She was not coming home from the battle.

Perhaps the reason why Rhaenys went back to attack was that she wanted to 'finish the job' this time. In previous episodes, Daemon somewhat blamed her for not burning Aegon when she had the chance.

The backstory is what makes this fight even more horrible and heart-breaking. Vhagar was the dragon of Rhaeny's uncle and her daughter. Not to mention, Meleyes and Vhagar were the dragons of the siblings and married couple, Alyssa and Baelon- so would have spent many years riding around together.
One of the main points in this show is the idea that the god's hate kin-slaying more than anything. You have Targs killing each other but I think the Dragon's killing each other which is what leads to the removal of magic from the world and ofcourse, the eventual downfall of the Targs.

@@doro626 Rook's rest is small keep but being cliffside keep it's possible for Vhagar to cling on the side. But yeah Vhagar does seem to use sneak tactics repeatedly and notice how Aemond always does not have any armour on. It's gonna come into play in future.

try it yourself. go buy a drone and stand in your front yard, now have your buddy stand in the back yard with a rifle. now fly over your house and after you get shot down...tell us if you even know where in the back yard he was hiding.
you see the issue is, being in the air makes it easier for them to see you not you to see them.

The scene showing Vhagar listening to Aemond in the forest shows how he has leaned to control her and the dragons and riders he is about to kill won't be accidents.
i think vhagar just does what aemon wants which isnt exactly what aemon says.
i think he wanted to kill lucerys so vhagar did. he may have said "oh no dont do that" but he did hate him, he did chase him on dragonback, and he did smile when it was done.
vhagar isnt a politician, she just reads the riders actual intentions.

@@suzukisixk7 To me the incident with Lucerys was showing us that even though Aemond has been with Vhagar for a number of years he still hadn't learned how to utilize/control such a seasoned/mature dragon. It showed that he didn't understand the responsibility. You can speak all the High Velaryon you want but if you don't truly take command the dragon will rely on it's own instincts.

It could be because of my recent rewatch of Jaws, but seeing the tips of Vhagar’s wings over the treetops felt kind of like a homage. I dismissed it, but then Rhaenys straps herself into her saddle when she starts going after Aemond and Vhagar… Like Quint!
Also I noticed how when Aemond was lying in wait, he was able to stop Vhagar from launching, showing hes in control. If you said it I'm sorry i missed it but great video!

Rhaenys did what she needed to be done. She missed her chance to burn during Aegon's coneration. She went down like a gangsta when she mortally wounded Vhagar and Sunfyre, so she knew what she was doing and martyred herself.😢

This show display so much of real life family dynamics…a mother’s love is so vital in a child’s life. When a boy is broken & unloved by his mother, he grows into a broken man who doesn’t know what love feels like.they only know pain. When you’re rejected by mon this is deeply internalized & is so detrimental on a child.
This show is delaying the effects of childhood TRAUMA. And what happens when you don’t heal from it.
I think Rhaenys was also grieving that her man was not only unfaithful but hiding an heir in slums, her boy their son died. In her mind she had no one else. She come to go out n one final battle. So in her death he could bring his dragon seeds from hiding. Where they belonged. The queens sacrifice tactic move.
She still had granddaughters and accept the Ser Strong children as own grandchildren.
I knew it was coming and I still got sad as fuck
