[HD] POWERED BY GAS - A new home for the Anglian gas buses | Plymouth City Bus

- The city of Plymouth has been blessed with a major upgrade to its bus services as its main operator, Plymouth City Bus, acquires 13 Ex Anglian CNG gas powered MAN EcoCity buses which are all beautifully wrapped in Caetano bodywork, very nice machines indeed. 1 of the buses is not road worthy as it suffered a brutal rear ended shunt from a lorry resulting in a complete write-off of the vehicle, however Plymouth City Bus still acquired it as the crimpled bus can be used for parts if need be.
I was lucky enough to be the first ever passenger in Plymouth to experience the new vehicles alongside a good friend of mine and enthusaist, Chris Kirby.
Details of their assigned service will be released as soon as I get authorisation to do so. Currently Plymouth City Bus's plans for the new buses are classified.

Having driven these buses quite regularly for the last three years I was very sorry to see them go. A quiet and comfortable drive made a day on one of these a fairly pleasant experience. Nothings perfect though - not very good in the dark - poor lights and bad reflections from the windscreen made night time driving on unlit country roads quite difficult. Hopefully you'll do another video of them when they are in their new livery. Also to correct one point - WX62 HGG was written off after being hit by a National Express coach, not a lorry as suggested above.

I saw a few in their new livery today in Milehouse Depot.

TheIrish RoadSurfer But if I would be asked "Gas buses or Darts?" then I would go Gas Buses over Darts. The Darts are OK but the CNG fuelled buses are kind of more unique and cleaner than the Euro 2 Darts.
Elevating Europe They're 96% more efficient that your typical diesel powered bus so i've heard. The company saves around £10,000-20,000 a year, per bus, on fuel savings. They're extremely clean buses in terms of emissions!

Alex Everitt Yep absolutely, a few are already finished, I literally just got in the door from work at the depot and i've seen one that is fully finished and it looks amazing, so watch this channel for updates! :-)
I'm going to Plymouth on 29th December for New Year so i will be happy to see them and get some pictures for my flickr

I rarely used Anglian, but when I did I hoped it wouldn't be an 'EcoShitty' ;) They sounded horrible, but it's probably something to do with maintenance... I hope Plymouth will look after them lmao
