What Fallout game would sell the best in your opinion? Does location matter? A) Fallout in New York B) Fallout in Miami C) Fallout in Los Angeles D) Fallout in Seattle E) Fallout in a new country F) Fallout Remake(s) G) Location is irrelevant
New York would work and would help solve a lot of bethesdas own plot holes, Miami would be absolutely sick, imagine mutated crocodiles and a florida man perk, Los Angeles would be good and would help build lore of the ncr and would tie into the tv show but bethesda never makes west coast fallout games so i doubt that they would do it, A new country wouldnt work beacuse w already have fallout london, plus new lore and new everyhting would need to be created from the start leading to massive plot holes, A remake of new vegas, or fallout 3 would be the best thing to do as we wait for fallout 5, and shouldnt be too hard as modders have already done this basically, and i think location is relevant as it will decide what creatures spawn, what enemies, what culture, what lore and so many other variables rely on location. Edit: I forgot seattle imao, I think seattle would be the most likely west coast game, as bethesda already worked on anchorage dlc, but i feel it would be more similar to the frontier in terms of climate and weapons and enemies, and i think its unlikely they would make it.
It's really baffling how Microsoft is just letting Bethesda do absolutely nothing with the IP beyond releasing a broken next gen update for Fallout 4 and messing around with 76, surely other devs could do something, ANYTHING lol
I must be in the minority. The next gen update didnt break anything for me. Yes, I couldnt use FO4SE for a week or two, but other than that, it really did nothing...except make me realize that you can indeed go lower than rock bottom when it comes to expectations.
I remember way back when the fake Fallout 4 announcement had the entire community hyped up. It seemed like 5 years was an endless amount of time between New Vegas and Fallout 4, it seemed unacceptable even. I can't believe it's been nearly 10 years since the last mainline single player Fallout release. Borderline embarrassing at this point.
76 is not beans friend and it's been a running breathing thing for quite awhile now. They do need to get a fresh team on it if they are going to move forward though because Todd is busy playing TV producer. And the other talent i all up in the next D&D chapter. Skyrim etc etc etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I was your age when Skyrim came out, just starting my senior year of high school, now I’m in my 30s and barely have time for gaming. By now I’ve accepted that -when- if Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, I’ll probably be too old to get into it
It’s not just fallout it’s every single triple AAA franchise. They’re taking 10x longer in between releases With that 10x extra time and ever improving technology you’d expect the games to be 10x more improved than before but the games aren’t even improved, let alone 10x.
Duke Nukem used that excuse and the final product still ended up garbage. Just use the engine u got and add to it s needed. 76 still looks fine and plays well for the most part.
@zachsaccount323 we will see. We’re betting on the trend that rockstar has never released a bad game VS the trend of every game being bad since rockstars last release. Also rockstar just like everyone else is taking 10x longer in between games so it’s hope we’re banking on. And right now Rockstar is my last hope.
Step 1. Fire Emil and Todd Step 2. Hire some damn writers (Chris Avellone, anyone?) Step 3. Form a specific fallout studio. Phil spencer needs to man up and tell todd the IP is going to another stuido. Period.
Does that make them the most money, or would that mean the resulting games would be more to your and my liking? What do the people around Bethesda want, to make you and me happy? Or to make tons of money instead? I only see it going downhill further from this point, as it has been for the past 15? years.
@@sussyman9034 Little Todd "Pinocchio" Howard is a double-edged sword for marketing. "It just works" isn't a joke for no reason; Todd overpresents, overpromises and consistently disappoints. Even if a more consistent and competent studio took the reins, he'd somehow find a way to sabotage the marketing with his patent-pending smoke and mirrors.
I think they barely have any idea or concept on what Fallout 5 should be and are distracting us with table scraps (games wise). Like you said, they should try the New Vegas formula again and give it to a reliable 3rd party and (hoepfully) something good comes out of it :D
Yea at this point I would be much more excited for a new take. Comes with risk but perhaps a smaller hungrier studio would treat it w care, knowing their reputation is at stake.
to put it bluntly, we suffer from this Fallout draught, because people HAVE and continue to support Fallout 76. they are milking the players that hang around in that community, and it makes me physically ill to boot.
The primary reasons why we're in a Fallout drought are: 1. Releasing Fallout 76 in a half- completed state; 2. The decision- carried out in Fallout 76- to change from a serious storyline interspersed with humor to a humorous storyline interspersed with seriousness; 3. The decision to make the creation engine available to the public for Fallout 4, followed by the release of the multi- player Fallout 76 using that same game engine- which resulted in members of the player base hacking Fallout 76 to death. 4. The dud of Starfield. 5. By far the most significant reason was Bethesda Games Studios' change of emphasis to micro- transacting. This has effectively ruined the Fallout genre. There's little chance that Bethesda will take the time and make the effort required to produce a quality game with a manageable level of bugs, a solid storyline, 80,000 or so lines of dialogue, and cutting edge graphics. The great minds behind Fallout 3 are no longer employed by Bethesda. The sole chance that the public has of getting anything like FO3 or FONV is a company other than Bethesda producing it.
even Fallout 3 had a lot of downfalls. I wish they would just take away the IP as a whole from BGS and give it to a newer studio that’s willing to make a good rpgs like the original Fallout games.
its because they expected 76 to be the game every fan would flock to and consume every drip feed of content that game puts out for years to come. In reality the majority of FO fans want a fallout 5, not a live service online game.
idk why but i always remember fallout 76 as 2019 or 2020 release. I think the main thing is that, Bethesda still makes money from the old games being sold and the Online games makes them a good ammountof cash so why bother putting effort and money into making something new then just perpetually update these online games. I mean hello remember the TES teaser they showed? When was that like 2019 ? It's been nearly a decade and at this point we desperatly need a new fallout game, a good game at that. Edit: I also think New Vegas also has an affect on the new Fallout game since well Fallout 4 came out and it was the most dumb down roleplaying options ever and everyone compared it to New Vegas. Bethesda probably doesn't have the skill to make dialogue and options as engaging as New Vegas so thats probably why they haven't done anything with the franchise. I mean look at Starfield.
It's for the best with fallout to be on ice over seeing A writer that does not understand fallout overall, emil pagliarulo is a complete clown when writing for bethesda (and yes i think he should be fired) & Todd Howard.... yea no he gets the boot and that most likely will not happen due to him most likely going to "retire" in a couple of years. At this point i say bring back the writer of New Vegas or Fallout II or find a writer that UNDERSTANDS fallout of a whole and the true meaning, overall also i say let microsoft yoink the Fallout IP from bethesda and just form a new studio to work on fallout franchise at least 100% of the time (Like the coalition that works on gears of war)
@@nvRanger At this Point i say let BGS die and a new gaming studio somewhat takes it's place, BGS was good while it lasted now it's a issue and that issue needs to be starved out of money, if i were Microsoft i would form new studios for the Fallout IP and Elder Scrolls IP both studios work on 1 game at a time and each game release 2 to 5 years (5 years is the max).
Even mod players are in a drought alot of fallout 4 modders left for starshit and alot were too prideful to admit that game is absolute dogass so we lost a good chunk of fallout 4 and new vegas modders (fallout 3 modding is dead)
To be fair, I'm more scared of new games coming out that never seeing a new one again. Bethesda especially has been on a downward trend and i liked Fallout 4.
Yea Fallout 4 was not what I was looking for from Fallout, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy parts of it and play it. Can’t say the same for 76 and starfield
@theboatmserfgsd I agree the TV show had very lazy writing and boring storyline that didn’t seem at all faithful to the originals despite being set in california.
Bethesda doesn't deserve Fallout anymore. Honestly I don't even know if we should get a new Fallout game when you look at what Bethesda has recently done. They just don't understand Fallout and probably never really have.
I like to add that due to this long hiatus of the series, we have had LARGE mods for the Fallout games go from start to finish. The community almost treats them like their own games. I am specifying Fallout London With how the community has had to fill in the space with their own stuff due to the lack of games being released.
Yea and I love that, but it leaves console players with nothing. They'll never be getting the Skyblivions, Skywinds, F4NV's, or FOLON's. Many PC players won't bother with the little bit of extra hassel to play those as well.
Best awnser i cam give is i think there afraid of veing shown up again. Fnv was better then 3 and 4 was modern but at best like 6.5/10. If they release a bad fallout game now its going to be a big nail in the coffin.
There was a point where people wanted BGS to succeed, they wanted to like their games. Now people are ready to be at their throats because they have burned all their good faith and trust with the fan base.
I haven't played everything, but from my experience, and the overall sentiment from others, the pattern goes a little something like: Morrowind > Oblivion > Fallout 3 > Skyrim > Fallout 4 > Fallout 76 > Starfield. The tide is finally turning, Starfield was not tolerated like the last few games, but still some say it was not bad or even good. Once we receive a terrible Elder Scrolls 6, there will be no more excuses. This game has to be their best, bar none. But that 20+ year pattern above says it all.
Yea that’s what I have gathered as well. I have heard Morrowind is their best in many ways. Even if that pattern isn’t exact for everyone, 76 and Starfield are new lows.
Fallout is one of my favourite game of all time. Fallout 1 and 2, standalone mods like Nevada and Sonora, 3D series from 3 to NV and 4 but looking at what's going on with my beloved franchise - im just buried it. Like yeah i can sometimes replay Fallout 1 or 2, but after 76 and Starfield, it's best to just forgot about this series just not to be disappointed rly
Hot take: The gaming industry is so full of paint by numbers DEI bs that the fact that the franchise has been on ice is a net positive. Once the industry has whole moves on from trying kowtow to people that don't even play games, then good games can come back. I will be happy when this happens and am willing to wait until that time.
if new vegas released in this day and age, it would still be touted as a masterpiece despite satisfying DEI standards in the gaming industry. There are many gay characters in the game and it still can be good. it’s not so much DEI that has an effect as it is lazy writing, bad storytelling, not to mention corporate greed has had a huge impact on the industry.
I don't care what happens to fallout anymore. The casual dum dum hordes demand quirky 50s legocolors slop set to big bopper, they want trash collector sims with soft, pillowy combat and hotwheels power armors. Fallout isn't for anyone who cares about the story anymore, it's just a brand and backdrop for Bethesda to copy modders and other superior gamedevs in a slapdash effort to pretend they're a competent AAA studio. Fallout is dead to me. 4 was the shot, 76 was the final nail, and the show is the burial. Fallout 4 has been cemented as the series core identity and Bethesda will never let us go back nor move on to something better.
This is the best summary of modern Fallout that I’ve ever read. It’s sad to see the state of the franchise ever since they stopped trying to make a good RPG and now it seems like BGS is actively wanting Fallout and TES to fail in favor of just making actually decent games again.
ESO is fun and it worked and that’s why they tried doing it with fallout but they fail miserably. There’s actually interesting dialogue and quests in ESO Also the dungeons are fun as well as exploring Tamriel
Couldn't agree more. This year alone I've put 700 hours into FO4 and FNV combined. I love the series so much and it's a shame they are doing fuck all with it. If Bethesda really can't spare devs to start work on a new title then now would be a perfect time to hand it off to a third party
@@Temp0ral_ I think a lot of us are just floating between those two games. I do enjoy returning to them but it’s starting to feel sillier with each new 300+ mod play through.
The problem is that bethesda has a monopoly on these type of games, nobody makes TES/Fallot competitors so they're not really affected by the long waits since they're always making loads of cash passively or when they release a new game. I also think you're underestimating how much money ESO and F76 are pulling monthly, it was reported around september that ESO had a monthly revenue of 15 million dollars so it can be inferred that F76 is pulling similar numbers due to similar player size. Also, regarding your point about Microsoft interfering with the IPs, you should keep an eye on how the Oblivion remaster pans out, the leaks suggest that the whole project is handled by another studio and if it's successful it could mean that MS might make bethesda share the IPs. Then again, it could also fall flat on its face if Skybivion is much more successful and we'll be back to where we are right now.
I don’t disagree that those games pull money, but like I said, idk how much sp releases interfere with those games. I think different kinds of players play mmos and online games like that than those who enjoy the sp experiences. Remakes included
We cant even say Bethesda takes time because they release quality games anymore. FO4 is basically a FPS set in the Fallout universe. FO76 is just an insult.
I was almost certain that they would lend the IP to Obsidian for New Vegas 2 when Microsoft bought both of the companies. I'm getting the feeling that not even that is gonna happen.
@@DarthJulia Obsidian ain't what they used to be. Most of the pure talent that brought us the likes of New Vegas is simply gone, replaced with folks whose priorities don't emphasize the quality of their games. Really, we need a new studio with some of the old Interplay, Obsidian and even Bethesda talent to pick up the license, but the likelihood of that happening is lower than Gabe Newell walking on-stage at a games showcase and saying "Three".
They wanted to do space rpg they shouldn’t have because they can’t compete in that market and they know elder scrolls is their bread and butter which they should have been put out the next one just give fallout to obsidian or someone else shit the studio who did bg3 said they were in talks to make a spin off for them
there shouldn’t be this stupid “cycle” in the first place. BGS shouldn’t have two totally separate IPs waiting just because they’re too stingy with the IPs
Feeling out bethesdas ideas is hard. it seems they doesn't understand we Are in a drought. they think fallout 76 and the fallout tv show are the stand in that Makes fallout seamless. It is kinda infuriating. Like they dont care. You kinda understand more than most. Given the random merch drops they seem to think they are giving enough content and fallout stuff. like the fallout 4 Update. You get the idea.
Yea I barely even remember the Fallout 4 update. Wasn’t it free as well? It’s not like people watch a show like Fallout on repeat for years either. I’d imagine most watch it once and stop.
We're in an age where the fans cannot rely on big AAA corps to delivet their fav games anymore and have to take matter into our own hands. Look how many big Fallout campaign mods are on the making.
London is the only one that has actually come out maybe sim settlements 2 if you count it nothing else is ever really coming out theres always gunna be abuncha "dlc sized" mods in perpetual development hell
1) A fallout mmo would be cool if it also included Super Mutants and Ghouls as playable classes, and didn't retcon a lot of the groundwork interplay did 2) look into who chairs over Bethesda, their previous positions, and what they did to the companies before leaving for Bethesda, and it'll all make sense 3) we're more likely to get a fallout remaster/remake for 3 than any other new game
1) the last thing we need is an MMO since 76 keeps making money and only further starved the attention of another singleplayer game. 3) I doubt there will ever be any remakes since bethesda has never made any remakes of remasters for any of their games
So many different genres of games could also be made. Maybe a Fallout Tactics 2... a remake of 1 and 2. A Fallout horror/survival game where you are being hunted by a Deathclaw. A Fallout RTS game in the style of Age of Empires...
absolutely, the series has so much potential. Tactics 2, xcomm style or something would be great. Remake 1 and 2 in similar engines to the modern wasteland games., easy money, easy fun for players.
Give Olympus, Sonora, Nevada, and Resurrection a playthrough if you're really starved for fallout and content. Give atom rpg a try after that. There is fallout and fallout like content out there for you to play. Love it or hate it but 76 is making money and has a healthy playerbase. As far as suits are concerned that's enough. I get that YOU want a new fallout game but all you can do is just wait. I gave several options to scratch the itch for the time being.
one thing people might've forget is that the company rushed to include a battle royale/arena type of game mode mid development. Again! something the fans didn't want. This only reinforces the obvious, Bethesda wanted an endless cash grab. When the trailer for 76 dropped I was excited, then I found out it was always online no npc multiplayer with battle royale I laughed and decided right there that wasn't buying
Here's the thing about Bethesda -- they are a tiny studio that punches WAY above their weight. They aren't a massive behemoth like EA or Ubisoft. They are based out of a tiny building in Rockville, MD. They've mostly just been publishing games by smaller developers because they don't have the capacity to crank out their biggest IPs with any regularity. On the other hand, since New Vegas, they've been really stingy about getting other studios involved with their big IPs. Personally, I think they are a little jealous over the love FNV has in the community. Why Phil Spencer hasn't forced them to hand over Fallout to Obsidian or inXile just to have current product for the XBox Series X is baffling. But he's really the only one that can make something happen here.
yea, I think they have been rapdily expanding with new studios though. BGS has an extra studio working on 76 I believe. I would love inXile to get a shot at a Fallout or TES game at this point.
They gonna do TES6 first bc they deserve it more than fallout with the lack of content for them. I feel 76 and the show are gonna be all we have to keep going
I hear what you are saying. I think something else should be considered here. Fallout first debuted in 1997. So it was being worked on for some years before that. If the folks behind that were in their mid twenties at that time, they would be in their mid fifties today. I think it would be fair to say they have had some success and probably want to enjoy being semi-retired and spend time doing their hobbies and being with their families. And the people who took over are clearly from the micro-transaction era. Thats why there hasn’t been a new fallout game. Also, these games aren’t being developed during all of the time in between games. So all this time in between games it isn’t like they are working on anything compared to say the way rockstar works on GTA or IF AND treyarch work on COD. Unfortunately the games development industry doesn’t work the way it sounds like you might imagine it does.
Maybe they're taking longer so that way they can extract as much potential ideas from modders and gives them enough time to implement all those ideas into their game and they don't even have to pay them free content that's probably what they're thinking the suits the bean counters
3rd. Iced while it was between interplay and BGS. Then the fallout 4 wait. Now here we are again. I love TES too, which is definitely in a worse state at the moment.
Can we have a new game please? We don’t need remakes of games we still play because a new one hasn’t come out yet. Seriously my kids play these games that came out before they were born. They don’t want them remade, nor do. We want NEW GAMES!!!
I don’t disagree with the sentiment but I wouldn’t mind a hold over remake release in between new releases. If Fallout 5 is still 3+ years off, a 3rd party studio could work on the remake.
I know their focus is FPS but feel someone like Nightdive Studio could handle a remake of at least Fallout 3. That people with their track record feels they give a shit for the game they have made remasters or ports to modern platforms.
Betheda just doesnt deserve Fallout at this point. Theyre half assing the games and making all the money off of them and its not even an IP they created.
Yea that makes it even worse. They made TES so they might as well destroy it if they want (not that I'm happy about it). Fallout stings a little worse because we know what it could be in the hands of other developers.
the demand for Fallout is insanely high, why not let Obsidian make another great game??? Remake, sequel, or something new entirely, who cares, just let Obsidian make another game
Fallout was one and done, but like all profit creating endeavors - more are needed. Then it rested until studios with more financial power and less creativity took it to use as a second IP featuring their game engine designed to allow easy modification like previous Elder Scroll titles. As popularity rose, so did the corporate greed as they reached new player fans through increased exposure to the game design - by allowing another studio to contract a sequel. Here we see how creativity was king. Afterwards Greed takes the wheel again and like anything existing alongside greed - it's just a matter of time till it's only a skeleton.
I completely agree man. You would think with Microsoft’s recourses they could pump out games like cod. Plus the writing material is abundant, fallout 1 and 2. Not to mention the much deserved and desired remasters of 3 and NV
@ I would prefer the remakes of all past games to be complete overhauls while keeping the same storylines and classical magic. Basically modernized fallout 4 gameplay with OG elements
I got starfield on sale a couple weeks ago. After 24 hours invested honestly it’s not a bad game, I did mod it almost immediately though to fix things I already seen were a problem though lol
At this point, given how bethesda is fumbling everything I almost dont want another fallout or elder scrolls. I am scared that they are gonna mess it up & further ruin IP's that we all know & love.
Fallout 76 launch was bad I do get that but have you ever played the game now it's nothing like when it launch so please people need to stop bashing it. I do want a new single player fallout maybe with co op so you can play with your friend but.
Its starshits fault if that abyssmal dogshit never existed we would be seeing more than 46 seconds of elder scrolls 6 and movement towards fallout 5 or a spinoff fallout
Fallout drought? All I hear about is fallout these days from Bethesda. Fallout 76, Fallout TV show, fallout day, fallout london, fallout this and that. It's us Elder Scrolls fans who are really getting nothing. I mean nothing for over ten years. Fallout can wait another ten years for all i care, all i want is TES 6.
@@bloodgroundgaming7871 what @Brams2777 notes is important, though. Things like FOLON and Fallout day are fan efforts that speak to the strength of the community built around Fallout, not the current state of Bethesda’s efforts. I completely agree w you on TES though.
@@bloodgroundgaming7871feels bad for both but atleast folon came out, beyond skyrim devs just scrap and restart their projects like every 6 months so es7 would be out by the time we get anything beyond bruma
ngl after starEfield as a whole, fallout 4 writing and 76 stability made complelty hard to be excited for anything bethesda related, 6 whaen ES6 was announced i was hype, now im just in a ¨meh¨ state bc i know the game will be near to unplayable (maybe stability, maybe gameplay, maybe writing) for months.
Yea it seems like the hype for ES6 has been capped by their poor releases as of late despite having no direct connection to the elder scrolls. People should be skeptical
To be fair, they did a good job saving 76 from the dirt it stood in. Now that the main map has more to it, they need to add more maps to it. If it were me, I'd make the next fallout similar to GTA. The main game is offline, but you can switch to online to play with friends. If your online and offline character is the same, the switch to online would act as a "flashback" transition so you can play with your friends prior to the events of the main campaign. (For a neutral map not affected by the choices you make in the main story. Which would cause issues in an online game. Think like playing the courier before he gets shot.) I would make it so it slowly unveils the whole U.S. and possibly Little America with each major update. The main reason: So the areas can be polished before release as if you release one gigantic map in one go, it could be underdeveloped. I have some ideas on how to explain some oversights in the previous games.
Fallout is my favorite gaming franchise of all time and I really just have no reason to be excited for it at all right now. I feel like Ill be 30 before the next main line Fallout comes out I'm 22 rn. Fallout 76 is fun every now and again but it doesn't scratch the same itch the Older Fallouts have and the Fallout TV show was alright I guess but it wasn't anything especially incredible in my eyes.
Honestly I don't trust Obsidian with Fallout anymore. Yeah they have great people in charge to make a great Fallout (Tim Cain, Josh Sawyer, Leonard Boyarsky) but unfortunately most of Obsidian's team...will probably amplify issues people have with both Fallout and the Outer Worlds, except instead of crappy kindergarten level writing it's ham-fisted contemporary neoliberal political tropes (I'm sorry I had to state the crap about the Woke agenda, but unfortunately even JE Sawyer has gone deep in this cookie jar, and not forgetting that the Outer Worlds theme is the now overdone-to-death "capitalist company baaaaad" trope) That's not taking into account all the best people that worked on FNV are long gone now (and Chris Avellone absolutely HATES Feargus Urqhart and would refuse to work with Obsidian until the latter is gone) The best hope for a third-party Fallout is inXile. They have an excellent track record, are more interested in creating real RPGs, and don't seem that interested in ESG scores or neoliberal politics. Not to mention Chris Avellone would be more than happy to work on Fallout away from Feargus, and has worked with inXile on Wasteland 2. Not to mention we'd get a new perspective on the universe with fresh ideas, and concepts. Hell maybe even the Obsidian OGs could still work on this theoretical Fallout as advisors. Though at best we'll probably get part of Obsidian and part of inXile working on this theoretical project (since both studios are already juggling other projects) And whilst I do think Todd and Emil's egos play into it (after all Todd is more interested in making games essentially theme parks, and Emil is a shit narrative lead and designer) it's probably why Bethesda never will give Obsidian the keys again (that and their unstable track record)
I would like to see Obsidian perform to a higher standard than what was shown in outer worlds and I definitely wouldn’t mind an experienced rpg studio like inXile w Chris Av take the reins.
The drought is crazy but I was disappointed by Fallout 4 and I definitely didn't care for Fallout 76. Without serious changes, Fallout 5 would almost certainly miss the mark. Still, if I could dream for just a moment, I think an ideal location for the next game would be Miami. It would still carry the distinct 1920s to 1950s Americana associated with Fallout but now flavored with a Cuban/general Latino flair and it's a unique tropical location different to the northeast and the central desert. The nearby Keys and Bayou could be taken advantage of for DLC or even just part of the main game as well. Mutated alligators or manatee could be interesting...
What Fallout game would sell the best in your opinion? Does location matter?
A) Fallout in New York
B) Fallout in Miami
C) Fallout in Los Angeles
D) Fallout in Seattle
E) Fallout in a new country
F) Fallout Remake(s)
G) Location is irrelevant
Fallout Chicago
Fallout L.A but it's all of California and parts of surrounding states

They’re taking 10x longer in between releases
With that 10x extra time and ever improving technology you’d expect the games to be 10x more improved than before but the games aren’t even improved, let alone 10x.
Fallout 5 on ps6 or 7 at best will look like a ps4 game but will have a million glitches.

Rockstar is the only gaming company that has the credibility to keep doing this
@zachsaccount323 we will see. We’re betting on the trend that rockstar has never released a bad game VS the trend of every game being bad since rockstars last release.
Also rockstar just like everyone else is taking 10x longer in between games so it’s hope we’re banking on.
And right now Rockstar is my last hope.
Step 1. Fire Emil and Todd
Step 2. Hire some damn writers (Chris Avellone, anyone?)
Step 3.
I only see it going downhill further from this point, as it has been for the past 15? years.

@nvRanger we need to write Microsoft to put Bethesda in line or offhand fallout to another studio who will treat the IP better.

Yup, the game no one asked for
all that for the slopfest Starfield....

@@connorsmith1005 16 times the detail... and all of it just works.
The primary reasons why we're in a Fallout drought are:
1. Releasing Fallout 76 in a half- completed state;
2. The decision- carried out in Fallout 76- to change from a serious storyline interspersed with humor to a humorous storyline interspersed with seriousness;
What weapon mods are you using?

Im gonna be honest I don't wanna see Bethesda do anything with this series ever again with how much it's been mistreated.
They’re definitely on a bad streak of things. If they switch up their writing team, I’d be more intrigued.

Yea, TES is in a worse state. Sad to see for both
at least they got Morrowind, Daggerfall, Oblivion and Skyrim to enjoy.
@@ytmld true but fallout 3 fallout new vegas and fallout 4 are all enjoyable in their own ways so its pretty even
its because they expected 76 to be the game every fan would flock to and consume every drip feed of content that game puts out for years to come. In reality the majority of FO fans want a fallout 5, not a live service online game.
And it won’t have the shelf life of their past games without mods…
@@nvRanger most definitely
idk why but i always remember fallout 76 as 2019 or 2020 release.
Aren't whoever makes the Final Fantasy games up to chapter 3000 or so? Same thing I think.
I would be more interested in a new dev at this point as well. Depends on who it is ofc, but BGS isn’t filling many people with hope

The new fallout show is terrible we don’t need that writing in a new game
@theboatmserfgsd I agree the TV show had very lazy writing and boring storyline that didn’t seem at all faithful to the originals despite being set in california.
Bethesda doesn't deserve Fallout anymore. Honestly I don't even know if we should get a new Fallout game when you look at what Bethesda has recently done. They just don't understand Fallout and probably never really have.
Yea they need new team to properly handle Fallout. There are fan made mods with a deeper understanding of the series, unsurprisingly I suppose.
With Todd's age getting up there in the numbers too, I'm starting to get concerns he may have dementia or sumn
he’s only 50 dude lmao he’s just out of touch that’s all it’s nothing dementia related
The answer is Bethesda I’m pretty sure they view the mobile game as a main fallout offering which is insane
That is insane if they think Shelter and Blades mean anything to their established player base.
I haven't played everything, but from my experience, and the overall sentiment from others, the pattern goes a little something like:
Morrowind > Oblivion > Fallout 3 > Skyrim > Fallout 4 > Fallout 76 > Starfield.
Probably the most healthy approach. Either that or just enjoy modding the old games
Y’all are so fucking close to getting it but your dislike of certain people gets in the way it’s sad
I just picked up the Spiderman Remastered for PC and was reminded what a good game looks like.
if new vegas released in this day and age, it would still be touted as a masterpiece despite satisfying DEI standards in the gaming industry. There are many gay characters in the game and it still can be good. it’s not so much DEI that has an effect as it is lazy writing, bad storytelling, not to mention corporate greed has had a huge impact on the industry.
Idc i want a new fallout to release cuz i just want new concept arts because its always a billion times better than the actual game
Fallout does have amazing concept art. I could look at the concepts for cities all day.
Because Todd hates you and Bethesda stopped caring about making good games 13 years ago

@nvRanger agreed lol
1) A fallout mmo would be cool if it also included Super Mutants and Ghouls as playable classes, and didn't retcon a lot of the groundwork interplay did
2) look into who chairs over Bethesda, their previous positions, and what they did to the companies before leaving for Bethesda, and it'll all make sense
3) we're more likely to get a fallout remaster/remake for 3 than any other new game
When the trailer for 76 dropped I was excited, then I found out it was always online no npc multiplayer with battle royale I laughed and decided right there that wasn't buying
you made a good choice not to buy, I wsh enough of us did so they wouldn't be sitting on that game until today
At least you guys in the fallout fanbase still get content, it’s been 13 years since we’ve got a game in the Elder Scrolls series
Absolutely true, ESO has killed that series in its tracks. We might just be getting Skyrim every 5 years.
Because Fallout 76
People don't realize it, but a live service means no more sequels.
Yea, sad reality in the direction they took. Same with ESO.
They gonna do TES6 first bc they deserve it more than fallout with the lack of content for them. I feel 76 and the show are gonna be all we have to keep going
Fallout is never going to be the same after adam adamowitz's passing.
No great concept art - no great game.
Not optimistic of Fallout anyways, next fallout is Brotherhood vs Enclave again, or at the very least Brotherhood will be a big major faction again...
I'd bet you're right. Next cover will probably have the BoS or Enclave on the cover too. They mill those factions like they milk the series.

Had to look them up. I see they remade system shock. Would be cool to see. Definitely don’t need Bethesda/Obsidian to do the remakes themselves.

@nvRanger well i mean as far as a company you can trust to try hard & care
Absolutely, they don’t deal in mediocrity
First of it's not 7 years it will be close to 17 it takes at least 7 to 8 to make them now
Fallout was one and done, but like all profit creating endeavors - more are needed.
There’s so much potential and BGS doesn’t have the lock on it they used to. They could even remake 1, 2, & Tactics similar to wasteland 2/3.

I got starfield on sale a couple weeks ago. After 24 hours invested honestly it’s not a bad game, I did mod it almost immediately though to fix things I already seen were a problem though lol
Bethesda will keep producing Fallout 76 and Starfields until they dissolve as a company due to incompetence
if that happens, hopefully a solid studio picks up their IPs

it's honestly unacceptable.
ngl after starEfield as a whole, fallout 4 writing and 76 stability made complelty hard to be excited for anything bethesda related, 6 whaen ES6 was announced i was hype, now im just in a ¨meh¨ state bc i know the game will be near to unplayable (maybe stability, maybe gameplay, maybe writing) for months.
I have some ideas on how to explain some oversights in the previous games.
atleast 76 gives you the currency for free
Fallout is my favorite gaming franchise of all time and I really just have no reason to be excited for it at all right now. I feel like Ill be 30 before the next main line Fallout comes out I'm 22 rn. Fallout 76 is fun every now and again but it doesn't scratch the same itch the Older Fallouts have and the Fallout TV show was alright I guess but it wasn't anything especially incredible in my eyes.
I hear ya. The series needs a fresh take. New dev, new region, new factions even.
Honestly I don't trust Obsidian with Fallout anymore. Yeah they have great people in charge to make a great Fallout (Tim Cain, Josh Sawyer, Leonard Boyarsky) but unfortunately most of Obsidian's team...will probably amplify issues people have with both Fallout and the Outer Worlds, except instead of crappy kindergarten level writing it's ham-fisted contemporary neoliberal political tropes (I'm sorry I had to state the crap about the Woke agenda, but unfortunately even JE Sawyer has gone deep in this cookie jar, and not forgetting that the Outer Worlds theme is the now overdone-to-death "capitalist company baaaaad" trope) That's not taking into account all the best people that worked on FNV are long gone now (and Chris Avellone absolutely HATES Feargus Urqhart and would refuse to work with Obsidian until the latter is gone)
The best hope for a third-party Fallout is inXile. Though at best we'll probably get part of Obsidian and part of inXile working on this theoretical project (since both studios are already juggling other projects)
And whilst I do think Todd and Emil's egos play into it (after all Todd is more interested in making games essentially theme parks, and Emil is a shit narrative lead and designer) it's probably why Bethesda never will give Obsidian the keys again (that and their unstable track record)
I would like to see Obsidian perform to a higher standard than what was shown in outer worlds and I definitely wouldn’t mind an experienced rpg studio like inXile w Chris Av take the reins.
Apostrophes don't make words plural, but good vid
Thanks, my bad
@@nvRanger Holy heck you fixed it, bravo
Easy lil adjustment in photoshop
9, nine years
The drought is crazy but I was disappointed by Fallout 4 and I definitely didn't care for Fallout 76.
Agreed, I think it’s time to get away from the east coast/west coast. Especially if it’s a new developer. Florida has a lot to offer.
im afraid there will actually be a fallout before the next fallout :{
lmao
We're not in 2008 anymore, they don't give a fuck about quality anymore, and they made 76 cause it's easier to monetize an online game.
yea I guess its also easier to prey upon children with access to their parents credit cards too
