Oh my. This really is a little slice of heaven. Tara (my BCC) has gone to bed, but tomorrow I'll play this for her. She'll go nuts. I'm LMAO. I actually have tears in my eyes - it is hysterical madness.
A house full of 3 yrs olds for the rest of your life. What an awesome person to commit herself to these beautiful birds.😀 i want to add an Amazon to my flock.
I would be in heaven. First time since I was around 4 years old, that I don't have a bird in my home. This just made me realize how much I miss that interaction.
Last count, about 3 weeks ago, was 356. Now there are about 370! No, they are not all in the house. The ones we are babysitting or pets are in the living room. (Some people leave their parrots here to be babysat and don't ever come back to get them!)
Lol! I had this video private for months and just made it public. When Gracie, Corkie, Avis and Frostie hear this, they start going nuts too! They are all four at my house now and no longer down there at Birds of Paradise! I guess I'll let this play and see what happens! Lol!
Frostie is by far the most humerous! Avis comes in 2nd. It's because they both dance. It's a ZOO alright in the "living room"! When I let them all out, I have to watch them very closely. Gracie, AKA TUBO, goes around from cage to cage eating everybodies food, for one thing! She will hold a spoon in her foot and eat out of it! I'll have to get that on tape soon! I'm glad you enjoy my videos! :-)
Ruby is red and purple. She is an eclectus. The males are all bright green. People used to think the male and female electus were different species altogether. There is no DNA sexing needed with them! Search Google images for eclectus and you'll see what I mean. You should see her in the sun! What stunning colors. And, their body feathers are "hairy" and very unusual. They are very sweet birds.
I don't live there anymore but go to visit. When I first moved back home, I told a friend: "I feel really strange! It's so deathly quiet. Something feels so wrong! I feel like I'm not in my body!" It suddenly dawned on me, after returning to visit, that Ted's 200 plus parrots are REALLY noisy and that is what the strange feeling was: LACK OF NOISE!
The whole point behind the harness and leash is to prevent them from flying away and I'm sure the first attempt at flying would teach them that when the harness is on they aren't going anywhere. I'm sure the bird would be a bit disappointed with the results of the attempted flight but at least they won't end up in a tree and then off somewhere and get lost. I knew someone whose Macaw flew high up in a ecalyptus tree and would never come down and finally starved to death.
We were babysitting Ruby. She is an Eclectus. The male Eclectus is totally green! For a long time, people thought they were two different species when in fact they weren't! Glad you enjoyed!
I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Timneh Grey parrots are very good talkers and make great pets and I'm certain your life will be much happier with your wonderful pet! (Make certain you are getting receipts from the breeder in the event things don't work out as you anticipated!) Make sure to make some videos to share with me and your other friends here at TH-cam!
They are quite a handful and a joy at the same time. I spend MUCH time in "The Living Room" and am constantly picking up toys, changing water dishes, collecting toys that got poop to soak in water with a touch of bleach, etc. They each come down off the top of their cages........ at one time or another, thankfully not all at once! I keep the cage doors open so they can sit on top or stay inside, their choice. I'm getting ready to make a new video cuz Precious went to go visit Henry! Contd.
That was at a friend's house before I bought Frostie and was given Avis, Gracie and Corkie who all live with me now. Yes, they are pretty funny when they talk!
They were being babysat by my bachelor friend who gave me Gracie The Yellow Naped Amazon, Corkie The Yellow Collered Mini Macaw and Avis The Blue Crown Conure because their owners didn't want them. I intentionally brought Kenya The Double Yellow Headed Amazon into the living room to get them all going!
That is at my friend Ted's house. Yes, that was before I got Frostie. He was babysitting most of those birds. I intentionally brought Kenya inside to get them all going for the video. After being there with all that noise, it's really strange when I leave because it is so quiet!
Have you seen Avis talk yet? Go to my channel and click on the Avis The Blue Crown Conure play list. There is a video of him taking a bath in a fountain and talking that you'll love!
I love this. I just lost my Blue and Gold Macaw and I miss her so bad. No bad though. the breeder has another bird for me...an Amazon this time. Can't wait to get her. I would love to work with those birds. YOU GOT'TA LOVE 'EM!
Ah I see it looked like it was so loud in thare haha! Poor Frostie Ran out the door! Lol! I guess this is when you too were not bonded lol. He did not like Listing from you lol!
We've had Corkie and Gracie for over three years and Frostie for almost two years! We had Bird Bird for 8 months then the owner called one day and said she'd be here in 20 minutes because she'd sold him and didn't give Ted one dime! Yes, people do leave their birds here. I cried when Bird Bird left. I was so MAD at the owner that I left so I wasn't here when she came to get him. A friend of ours was going to buy Bird Bird where he'd have had a lovely home! She just hadn't said anything!
@mangolefty It was quite a zoo, alright! I brought Kenya, the double yellow head Amazon into the room to get them all going! Lol! That was at Ted's place where Frostie was being babysat.
Frostie does that now too! The minute he's on the floor he's usually off an running! He likes to go hopping like at the end of "Frostie's Outdoor Adventure".
It's NOT always like that! I brought Kenya in from outside to stir up a racket on purpose! Lol! She was the one on the stand. We rescued her about 1 1/2 months ago just a week after we rescued a male Magnum Double Yellow Headed Amazon so they are outside in a huge cage together. Buster, the male, is totally wild but he now comes down to get a peanut from me! When we first got him, he cried and cried for his mate! It was so neat when the man called about 7 days later wanting us to rescue Kenya!
I have two blue and gold macaw videos. Just search my channel for Tiki. She's gorgeous but isn't mine. She lives where this video was shot. She wasn't there at the time I made this video.
@jrsmalls Only four of these parrots are mine and this was shot before I took them home with me at Birds of Paradise. Ted, the owner, gave me Gracie, Corkie and Avis and I bought Frostie.
Whenever I play this video, which I had private for many, many months because I was getting so many comments on my Frostie videos and couldn't keep up with answering them all, Gracie and Corkie start going nuts! Lol! Watch "Corkie The Yellow Collared Macaw: Singing With Karla". Corkie is a crackup!
I just let his flight feathers grow out and saw him fly for the first time last night. I think he stunned himself. Something startled him and he jumped up in the air like he always does then realized he got some air and continued flying for about 4 feet. I don't know if his former owners trimmed his flight feathers or not. I do know that Ted did so he never flew the two years he had him.
Wow I guess that makes sense..poor bird so they just left it thare? They did even get a fire truck or crane to help him get down! They just left him....boy you should be careful what if Frostie gets free from your grasp...
Kenya, The Double Yellow Headed Amazon, that was on the perch, talks up a storm! She is starting to get her feathers back. She looked quite different when we picked her up. Her cage mate died and I'm sure she was very depressed because her former owner was not able to care for her anymore due to having a stroke. She is VERY happy with Buster The Magnum Double Yellow Headed Amazon! When I bring her in, he calls and calls for her and is thrilled when I take her back to him! Buster is GORGEOUS~!!!!
I just wanted to let you know that my blue front amazon watches this video EVERY night after supper. If I don't play it, she starts yapping at me to do so. So you're going to get lots of hits on it even though it's 2020 now...lol
(They are both GREYS) and they keep talking to each other, saying, "What did you do?" or "Come over here!" etc. Of course they'll probably stop the moment I set up the tripod and hit the movie button!
When Frostie's video first came out, I was getting so many comments on all my videos I made a bunch of them private because I couldn't keep up with replying. This is one of them. That's why there aren't many views. When I play this video, Corkie, Avis and Gracie usually start up with their talking. Frostie doesn't talk much. He's pretty quiet.
@OnePickieChickie this video makes my bird flip out at around 6 mins. why????? not sure, we had fun watching!!!!!!! when your amazon is puffed up, our female amazon goes nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@tina2793 That was down at Birds of Paradise where all those birds were being babysat! I know own three of those featured and it's not like that at my house!
This happened when I lived in Santa Barbara and was working for a multi millionaire. The macaw belonged to his son. Man I hated that bird. All it did was scream all day long and drove me crazy! I had no experience with birds at that time and was afraid of them. The tree was very tall and the fire department wouldn't come out. It just boiled down to waiting for the bird to come down but it never did. Sending someone up the tree would have frightened it into flying to another tree.
They are NOT "like that" all of the time. I brought Kenya in from outside to get them all going! Parrots can be very noisy. I don't live there anymore but moved back home. It wasn't until I left that I realized how much racket they make! When I go back to visit, I find the chatter to be rather annoying at times! I now appreciate the peace and quiet of home! Yes, I love the birds but being around so many in the winter time when you're stuck in the house is a bit much!
I have a photo of a Nanday Conure in Karla Larsson's Parrot Pictures TH-cam slide show holding a piece of an apple. Do you have a picture of your conure you can send me? The guy I got Frostie from breeds Nandays, amongst many other parrots.
Why are they kept inside all the time? You can't keep different species of birds together and assume that they will all keep each other sane. They have different languages and backgrounds. They need the company of thier own kind or of many well trained humans - preferrably with strong ears. I've kept parrots since I was a kid and I can tell you, I'm a bit deaf.
OMG the owner has managed to train all of them. Great job owner. But was also LIKE being in a lunatic asylum. Nevertheless it was fun. I can't help asking you trained all of them.?
I am suspecting the reason your bird has a band is because the breeder had it DNA sexed before selling it because they wanted to either keep the females for breeding purposes or they had a customer who wanted to buy females. Generally, pet stores wouldn't have the records you are interested in because they get their birds from a person who drives all over tarnation buying birds from breeders like Ted then takes them to the various pet stores.
The band means nothing to me. You can feel the pelvic bones at the vent area. If the are touching or almost touching: male. If there is a large gap: female. I don't know how long you've had your bird, but most pet birds sold are males as the breeders hang onto the females to use as breeders. If you were told your bird was a male, this means the person who sold the bird to the pet store had the birds sexed. There would be no reason to lie and say your bird is a male.
Yes! Isn't that something! She always arches her head up like that when she does that! Lol! She goes NUTS in the evening!
Such beautiful birds they are and very clever too
That was hillarious. I love parrots.
Wow that DLH is gorgeous!!!
It's like zoo ,very nice & tame birds.
I would be in heaven. First time since I was around 4 years old, that I don't have a bird in my home. This just made me realize how much I miss that interaction.

Noisy noisy but lovely
I love them all! Music to my ears!

I like the macaw; he's so wacky

I'm going to see how it goes. I should buy a harness for him with a leash. I want to be able to take him outside when the weather warms up.
(They are both GREYS) and they keep talking to each other, saying, "What did you do?" or "Come over here!" etc. Of course they'll probably stop the moment I set up the tripod and hit the movie button!
My kitty cats are going crazy watching this .
