Damn those damage numbers are crazy, cloud is definitely back to the lightning god. I think one important thing people miss when looking at the damage comparison between just hitting your damage attack and “wasting” a turn on a 2 turn buff is that you don’t start out a fight with max attack stance, so your initial attack is doing far less damage anyway and you’re better off buffing. I just ran a quick test against Levi with cloud having not patk buff, Levi down to 1 tier of lightning resist up when attacked, and got the following results. 63k - Murasame first hit (no max stance) 114k - Murasame second hit (max stance) 117k - Murasame third hit (max stance) Vs. 23k - locke sword first hit (no max stance) 147k - Murasame first hit (max stance) 144k - Murasame second hit (max stance) In that brief example, the second setup I’m only at a 7k damage loss by the first actual attack compared to the first scenario, and the damage more than makes up for that first “wasted” turn with every additional hit I’m able to get off after that. If I’m able to get off 5 hits with that mid tier buff, I’m 100k damage over the non buffed setup. Obviously that only applies to the opening setup of the fight, but with how many fights force you to get into an inopportune setup with your stance gauge while trying to block attacks and forcing you to either waste atb waiting for the stance gauge to fill back up or do a hit outside of max attack stance, it’s very likely you’ll have another opportunity to get the buff off in a fight while not at max stance anyway.
100% a great 2nd weapon for Clouds elemental builds, a lot of people just see the buff and think oh thats not much i'd rather just attack twice but when you add into consideration the multipliers from buffs and debuffs it does a lot more than what the text implies, great showcase
@@GellyBake Thank you. I’m really impressed with the damage output. Even more so cause earlier I as assisting someone with building for Levi earlier and reference my original clear for 6 months ago. I’m surprised that from back then where I was barely clearing the bar to now Levi going done in 3 Major hits.
Thank you for this test Jro. It fortifies my thoughts about this weapon. So T2 buff gives 25% and T3 40% dmg increase. Going by the numbers and considering you have to buff once and can then do 5 hits (ideally) buffed: (With Aerith buffing PATK) 1x 103.733 5x 743.562 = 3.821.543 dmg If you instead hit 6 times without buffing: 6 x 601103 = 3.606.618 dmg Which is about 6% less dmg. I mean at the end of the day it is 6% more dmg. It will also hit very hard on any boss that has a vulnerability phase. And if you, in the future, could manage to give Cloud buff duration, without having to sacrific any other dmg boosting stats, then that 6% will simply go up and up the longer he doesn't has to rebuff. However, considering we already have Aerith with Ice imperil and Ice buff (Citric Wand), we are surely to see more ways to buff elemental potency, rendering the C.Ability of this weapon questionable. (Maybe having Cloud buff first, for the long duration and Aerith pushing the buff to T3? But even then, you could put something better in Clouds off-hand like Glavenus Sword) The R.Abilities are also not that easy to include in his elemtal builds without having to drop another vital dmg stat. (at the moment) So, Appli did a fine job on providing a neat upgrade and make it look like it's a must have. At least that's my opinion, but maybe I am missing something afterall.
@@L1Slayer honestly it sounds spot on. With cloud ice I would feel it’s better to go with cloud ice sword + glavenus , aerith with terra + critic. You get all the debuff and buff just lose 1 teir of pdef down but you get matk up to supplement your shiva. If you want to go a step further you could also add Lucia with nightjar and that will give you everything you need for max dmg without sacrificing survivability.
Yeah I won't be having 12k PATK any time soon, lmao. Does seem win-more to me. I don't think its a DPS gain to use the sword over 2 Thunderstrikes vs sword + 1 Thunderstrike.

not to mention if you ever have to use a summon with the 3 tier elemental buff. Boosts the dmg on summon very high.
Thanks for the video.
@@AJML343 very welcome my friend
Aerith’s weapon was the mist impressive part of this showcase. Thank you.
@@joshuafitzpatrick7714 oh really, mind telling me why
Great showcase as always 🥳. I'm glad that I got OB6 of this weapon. Its make Cloud great again 😂
@@Asgeroth13 indeed it is a good weapon.
I know the next guild battle is magic but I would like to see this kind of setup on tested on an enemy with massive health
I might actually do a mock with physical lightning just to see. It might be fun honestly.
