Black mascara is probably about her ex record label not letting her release her songs. She was always under pressure to release upbeat songs, usually featuring dj’s and they should be first place on the charts or she they wouldn’t let her release her album. She’s now going independent and she finally after 7 years around, put her album out there. Her style was never those songs that’s why kinda ironically Black mascara is the only upbeat song on the album. She’s an ARTIST! 🤩
i’m pretty sure black mascara is about her boyfriend who spiked her drink i heard that, the lyrics do say “look what you done to me my baby, look what you done to me my lover” so i doubt it’s about the label
