@@athul46 a lot of his picking workouts do string skipping. I was working through alternate picking lessons from Bernth and then went to do a string skipping lesson exercise from another TH-cam channel (Ben Eller, I think) and discovered I no longer had an issue with string skipping before I even started it, thanks to Bernth’s 🤣

@@athul46 th-cam.com/video/2n6qPXwKfvc/w-d-xo.html block 5 is a good practice, he does another one as well, I’ll see if I can find it.

If you haven't already, definitely check out his Patreon offerings. Even the lowest level is an absolute bargain for what he provides! With his exercises, I have *finally* built a daily practice routine that I really enjoy. And btw, this is a plug from a truly random person. Bernth has NO idea who I am! 😄 Anyway, welcome to an excellent shred community! 🍻

Bernth, Thank you so much for sharing these cool Rhythmus. I am very excited to incorporate them into my own Rhythmus practice. I know that my Rhythmus will never be as Rhythmustastic as your Rhythmus but as they say "Any Rhythmus better than no Rhythmus."

  • @jasonday8334

I play with a guitarist who is generally really good, but sometimes really struggles with his Rhythmus! I need to get him to watch this. 😁 Of course, I need to practice my own Rhythmus as well! 😃

Wow, those first 2 riff exercises sounds like they would make a sick song. First riff reminded me a bit off Gojira with the groovy feel and muted hits, and second riff reminded me off Mastodon with the odd timing. First riff could make an awesome verse that kicks into the second riff once as it transitions into some atmospherical big chorus. Those breaks in the second half off the second exercise makes room for so many vocal ideas. Great video as always!

Could you please do a video on thumb position when shredding. When I try and play fast I feel like my thumb is getting in the way. When I try to play the minor scale fast my thumb stays in the same spot on the neck and if I try to move it while playing it messes me up.

I f**k up timing when I tried to sing so I never learned to play and sing at the same time. The first one I learn was "Say You Won't Let Go” it's probably because it's plucking instead of strumming and that's what makes it so hard for me. I need to chill 🙃🤷🏻

I’ve been focusing on my rhythmus lately so this is perfectly timed (no pun intended). When you said to practice starting on the 2 or 4 is that playing the same as if I started on the 1 just at different time, or starting at the 2 in the exercise dropping the first beat? I’m not sure I get the point of this if it’s the first one. What should I be focusing on there?
