I own an 1830's old stable / Inn in Warren Me and it is my understanding that they would traditionally build the barn and ell first so the builders would have a place to live and work building the house.
You are so blessed to be in agreement in living a farm lifestyle and a very remote area. I owned a remote old farm in NY but my husband died and I’m 79 so living remote by myself is kind of out of the question. But I see even more possibilities of this property my sons now own. If you can afford it and agree go for it. Be happy and enjoy. Don’t forget to include and invite Jesus in all your blessings. An avid follower Sharon
Yes!!! It's absolutely gorgeous! I would have the hardest time not plopping myself down on the ground and declaring myself unwilling to budge until it was mine!
Hello my friend! Ohh wow, just coming up to the property is amazing! Its gorgeous from the outside for sure! And you are 100% right.. if its the place God has for you & your family & all the fur family.. nothing can stop his divine plan!😊 Love the kitchen & that window view! The dining room has stunning windows! That bath with marble tile floors is so pretty! The cast iron tub is just like the one that was in the house i grew up in! I love the bedroom with the brick chimney coming thru! That's just such a cool detail..oh the decorating i could around that!😁 All the trim work & closet spaces are awesome! Obsessed with the upstairs bath!❤and another cute room with the chimney! The old part of the house & barn is truly amazing!😮 The roses are so pretty! So much land! The raised beds, the hoop house(which i call a green house) , the area with the pergola, so many spaces for a garden(s)! I would just love it there! It looks like a perfect place for your family & all the fur family, with lots of room & room to grow. If its what you guys really want.. or are trying to buy & haven't already, I'll def say a prayer for you all! Thanks for taking us along, I truly enjoyed the tour! Have A blessed weekend!😊
I'm a fellow Mainer and antique home lover. 30 years ago I built an antique Cape replica. I designed it myself and built it. My guide for it was the book Big House, Little House, Back House, Barn. I bet you are familiar with it. If not you will LOVE it. It's all about the connected farms in New England. I can't recommend it strongly enough.
@davemorrissette9914 Yes, a wonderful book & often sold in New England museum gift shops. Used it as a reference not only for my own (former) house but at work at an historic house museum.
You are so lucky to find that seclusion. I begged my fiance for a house in Parsonsfield that was SO far removed from everybody. But the house was in terrible shape. We ended up with a late 1700s cape off a main road, but we fell in love with the house immediately. It was the right trade off
Beautiful farm! I would live there in a heartbeat. Great energy and the barn swing sealed the deal. 😀 You don’t have to go outside in a blizzard to get to the barn. Perfect set up. I hope you got it! 😍
Some plant nurseries or tree farms would buy those spruce babies. Always have a forester out to access property and see if you can harvest and maintain your new forest. Saw one video where after having the forester oversee the work, the owner got 40,000 dollars before taxes. Pulp mills etc need fuel. Lumber yards.
You have to have the forester there, to oversee, because lumber mills will take trees they’re not supposed to. You might have owls or Eagles with nests in them.
If no one over bid you I am sure you purchased it. It has everythi9ng plus and you can live in it comfortably while you renovate the out buildings. It is beautiful! If the price is right and you do not mind being so secluded it is a dream come true. All the best with your decision. Me, I would not hesitate to buy it before someone else scooped it up. All your belongings will fit perfectly inside the house. The animals have homes also which is indeed a plus. It is so historic and what a wonderful place for a Bed & Breakfast. :) My prayers are with you. You are set up for self reliance with the large green house s), garden beds etc.
It's a beautiful farm and home. Will be looking forward to next video to see what your Dad says about the structures and if you guys decide to go with less acreage than you'd hoped for in exchange for the solitude. I can envision you guys and your animals very happy there.❤
The house with its chopped up rooms would drive me crazy. They are to small but the land ,barn is fabulous.i hope someone will get it that falls in love with it. And that would be u all.
Well, it says that it is under contract and you said many people were looking at it the day you went. So, maybe you! It certainly has many good qualities. I love the barn and el.
Don't know if you purchased it, as didn't hear much feedback from Mathew! Its like this house stopped in time and awaiting new owners/new life! Much more sound structured house than the last one you toured. Whatever you decide, it will be right. Thank you for letting us tag along.
Beautiful and yes I would go for it. Yes a slick kitchen, however, I prefer what you have currently for an old property like this. I like the lay out externally but the rooms seem a bit higgledy piggledy. Yes be comfortable but it can be done with a touch to the past. Much better condition with still lots of scope to work your magic and put your touch on it. Plenty of room for the animals as well, is it enough for what you ideally want.
Yes and the people were not above sleeping in the hay loft.My father’s generation still has control of the family farm that’s been in my family & was built by previous generations in 1803. The 1st winter they lived in essentially a lean to the 2nd winter they had the barn and began building the house by the 3rd but it took 6 years to complete.as they also had to tend to livestock and grow the gardens to feed themselves. My story is typical of how much of Maine was originally settled even if the original families have moved on & are no longer there to tell the story of the homes beginning.
If they weren't asking too much, I think y'all would offer for this one. But the Lords will. He knows what is best for every one of us. Love from a sister in Christ.
From just the video, this looks like a good property, but with less land than you have now. ...maybe this one has a little more in pasture. (?) No creepiness at this place! 👍
this is a nice place, but is it big enough for what you want to use it for ? to me yes it would work, but I don't have a recuse I just have 4 mules. and two big dogs. but I love West Virginia so I am staying put.. if you don't buy it then good luck in that you will soon find for your 4-ever home.
My wife and I live in a house built in 1771. It is very original but still with basic but well disguised modern convenience. It seems to me, for modern comfort today, we have scarred ancient architecture. We used to love the original series, “This Old House”, unfortunately on that series too, convenience replaced simplicity. The city came to the country. I do ‘get it’ and perhaps sound harsh, just find it hurtful to see such a beautiful old homestead cancered.
God great dreams do come true thank you for reviving an awakening my dream into more of my vision the rose gardens are so beautiful and glorious the gardens so amazing mydream an wish comin more into a vision reality then was a fairy tale vision if that makes since I love love the property kinda property I always forseen on laggiù

The people who buy your house will be so lucky. When you buy this house, you will be so lucky.
So sympathetically restored and renovated BUT leaving all the character, lovely decor that's in it so suitable. I LOVE IT!

Wonderful property, so much potential! The 1769 barn is in spectacular condition! Best wishes from your Maine neighbor, northern coast.
Awesome place.
This is absolutely stunning. I love it. I’ve not seen the next video. I hope you got this one. It’s breath taking.
So well maintained and so gorgeous - looks like it has all that you need and more.
I love that the house is so secluded there is no need for curtains. This is a stunning property!
Beautiful farm! I would live there in a heartbeat. Great energy and the barn swing sealed the deal. 😀 You don’t have to go outside in a blizzard to get to the barn. Perfect set up. I hope you got it! 😍
Its a WINNER!!!!

Maine is a beautiful state.

Just y’all, God, and Nature! Gods Will Be Done❤🙏🏼
The house with its chopped up rooms would drive me crazy. They are to small but the land ,barn is fabulous.i hope someone will get it that falls in love with it. And that would be u all.
That's the way old farmhouses were made, not supposed to be modern
Well, it says that it is under contract and you said many people were looking at it the day you went. So, maybe you! It certainly has many good qualities. I love the barn and el.
Bedrooms are small but I really like it. Not sure about the 3 mile dirt roads to get there though in the winter. 😊🇨🇦
Love this one!

Looks like a traditional BHLHBHB (Big House, Little House, Back House, Barn - as old New Englanders use to say - look forward to the tour
Oh yes, that’s a good quote to remember. I love that you said it.

I love this place!
Oh my gosh, you have to get it.
Love it! It's the dream house ❤
Hmm, will you have go plow and maintain some of the road in?
In early years of farming, the barn was built first, due to the need to have protection for the animals for them to live .

What a magnificent home and land…..it’s a dream!(whilst living in very hot Singapore)
If they weren't asking too much, I think y'all would offer for this one. But the Lords will. He knows what is best for every one of us. Love from a sister in Christ.
I hope you were able to buy it!!!
From just the video, this looks like a good property, but with less land than you have now. ...maybe this one has a little more in pasture. (?) No creepiness at this place! 👍
I'm hoping this will be your house. It's a treasure.
Love it ❤
It’s your right❗️
Oh if you’re lucky it is great!!

My friends are selling an old Farmhouse built 1870 with beautiful red barn in Avon, MA
Well if you didn't buy it it must be because it was over your heads. Because in is aĺmost perfect . Not many of these places left. ❤
Does it come with the cute puppy on the sofa?
I hope you bought it

Oh I LOVE it but maybe too modern for ya'll?
Nothing ventured, nothing gained; but this place is so move in ready that the price is likely to be extremely steep.
Much Better . Bid on it
Buy it it’s the one
😍
So I looked it up and it has 17 acres
Didn’t you want a bigger place so you could have hayfields?
How’s the one look?
Talking about the barn when camera cannot leave living room!
Where are the corgis?
Is this zuckermans farm? EBWHITE vibes in the best way possible
No way ..way to little work left to do 😊
It’s beautiful. Too bad the woodwork was painted over.
God great dreams do come true thank you for reviving an awakening my dream into more of my vision the rose gardens are so beautiful and glorious the gardens so amazing mydream an wish comin more into a vision reality then was a fairy tale vision if that makes since I love love the property kinda property I always forseen on laggiù

nice laminate floors in the kitchen
White barn milking parlor...
Lovely property but the barn doesn't seem large enough for all your animals threw a maine winter
How much????
I don’t think a heat pump would keep you warm in a Maine winter….
Actually it can.
People up there are using them and they are working. Big article in the NYT about this recently. Plus people have wood stoves.
I'm new to making TH-cam content as well, and wanted to stop and say I love your video!!! ❤ You gained a new subscriber! 🥰🩷 PS I am so in love with this home! 😍😍😍😍
