They are siphoners which are witches born without their own magic but with the ability to absorb or “siphon” it from other magical creatures, objects, and things. Because they technically born without magic, when they turn into vampires they are still able to siphon and practice it. It’s another one of nature’s loopholes.

I find interesting to see that there's always some parallels with how Lizzie is like Kai and Liv, while Josie is like Jo and Lucas. But I really miss Liv as she was truly one of my favorites and hopefully the twins don't have to set free Kai or find any other hidden Gemini secrets.
Yeah I see what u mean. She kinda is. She has some of Liv's insecurities about being wanted and her behaviour in pushing people away and not letting them get close to her emotionally. And then she's got all of Kai's crazy. But the show is now making it like she's destined to turn like her uncle, like the crazy runs in the family, when it was really only kai. Liv was a little unstable at times but nowhere near kai's level. Nd her paranoia stemmed from her fear of either having to die or kill her brother. But she and Lucas never had the same dynamic as jo and kai or josie and lizzie. There was never really a dominant twin and a docile one with them. Despite her always claiming Lucas was stronger, he never exerted his will over her or bullied her. They were closer to each other, more protective of each other and Lucas always supported her and even told her she had more power in her than she knew. So I don't get why they r making it like history is destined to repeat itself, with a crazy out of control twin when kai was really the only instance of that and the Gemini coven never had any problems b4 with crazy rogue twins

The difference between Kai & Lizzie and other half of twins is that they’re siphoner. Their higher-level craziness may have something to do with that.
I feel like Josie is the real evil one deep down cause she suppresses everything until she explodes and that’s something that evil people do in this series

Every time I watch this scene I can't stop crying. I have a big brother and mom says everyone says to me the second I born I adored my brother. Even as a newborn baby everytime I see my big brother I would start smiling and never cries while he holding me. I am 26 years old now and I still adore my brother. I love him even his flaws. I can't stop crying while watching this because the second I am thinking world without my brother I shatter. Become too sad even thinking it for a second. I hope&pray he and my parents live very long, healthy and happy life. Family is everything.

They have their mother's witch genes, and their father's human genes, they don't have any of Caroline's genes, since she didn't help make them. Hope Mikaelson is the only one who's a born hybrid, tribrid actually. And the only reason she exists, is because her dad Niklaus Mikaelson had the werewolf gene when he got turned into an Original vampire. Notice how Hayley is the only one that Niklaus got pregnant. That only happened because his werewolf gene got triggered AFTER he was turned into a vampire, so his body wasn't fully "dead" anymore, since werewolves are alive. Otherwise we'd have a lot of other "Hope Mikaelsons" running around, because it's not like he was celibate until he met Hayley. The other werewolves have to die AFTER their curse is triggered to become a hybrid, meaning they cannot procreate, since their body is fully "dead" in case you want to question that. Josie and Lizzie are not in any way related to Caroline, so they have none of her genes, so they are neither vampire nor human because of her - that credit goes to Jo and Alaric. Even if u don't understand the supernatural rules of the show (which u should educate urself on b4 commenting), basic high school biology would teach u that a surrogate has no biological influence on the baby they carry. And blood does not cross the placenta during pregnancy. So no caroline's vampire blood is not in their veins. And even if it was (which is still not possible), it would've eventually left their system as they weren't actually born of a vampire and human. Their conception was between 2 humans. I think the show has put in clues of “foreshadowing”. Lizzie’s mental health and family history for one, there will defined be something huge surrounding that. And emphasizing how much Lizzie is just like Caroline, like mother like daughter I think she will end up a vampire.
“One of the witches who was passing through told you the story of the Gemini...” For some reason, I like to believe that the witch Alaric is talking about is Valerie Tulle from TVD season 7, but she’s not technically a witch, she’s a vampire-witch hybrid or also known as a ‘Heretic’ I mean she was part of the Gemini coven, who else could have known, for one thing I’d like for Valerie to appear on Legacies, particularly to help Alaric and Caroline with providing a possible solution to stop Josie and Lizzie from doing the merge; other than turning them both into hybrids like her (Heretics) and I like to think Caroline’s searching for her in her travels. Though it’s possible other witches and covens know about the Gemini coven and the merge because Hope makes a call to her aunt Freya near the end of the season for information about the merge.
So Alaric said, one of the witches who told Lizzie about the merge in this timeline. The question is, will it be the same witch that gonna tell Lizzie about the merge in her current timeline?
I think there’s more to the Gemini coven that we have yet to learn. They’re clearly playing a huge role in one if not more plots in the show. It’s interesting because I didn’t think the twins HAD to merge considering Jo was living about her life while Kai was in the prison world. But now it seems that the merge is a MUST!? Is the only reason Jo could live because there was another set of Gemini twins currently living ? (I know her dad was still the leader but the coven did let her leave after all expecting no merge from her) What happens if the twins do not merge? How does the magic work in this coven and whyyyy are they the only coven that spawn siphoner witches?? If you think about the merge itself it’s technically siphoning, except your entire twin. Hmmmmm 🤔 Also the magic in the coven is very strange if you think about it, produces siphoners, necessary twin merge, the entire coven’s life is connected to the leader?! What happens to the Gemini magic without a leader!? It’s questions like these that tie into TVD or TO that got me hooked on this show. I’m working past all the other weird creatures that kind of ruin this universe for me lol.
I don’t think their the only coven that have siphonen witches, I haven’t finished tvd buuuut I do know the Heretics were imprisoned by the Gemini coven and the way it was said sounded like they weren’t from the coven but idk I’m on season 7 right now. I do think if they don’t merge the power of their coven might go away? Or die? Also Lucas an Liv weren’t siphoners and they were Gemini twins, the merge is a spell it doesn’t need to be siphoners. I think they kind of found a loop hole in tvd unintentionally where Jo gave her magic to Kai because he was getting sick after merging with Lucas but that is a very specific circumstance. I think Liz and Jose are the only ones left of the coven so whatever happens will only happen to them. But Caroline is looking for more information so we’ll probably get an answer next season hopefully

Correct me if I'm wrong but if they free Kai and since he's still technically the coven's leader, wouldn't the twins not have to merge? I mean the point of the whole twin merge thing is because the current leader is dead or soon to be, but since Kai is a vampire wouldn't that negate all needs for a new leader? I know it probably still wouldn't work with Kai killing Jo and stuff but still, I think even Jo would want that, for her twin daughters to live freely ya know.
Kai is in the prisonworld and even if he would come out his ressurection doesn't mean he is the gemini coven leader again. The whole coven died because of him the twins only survived because they were in Caroline

Umm I’m pretty sure that as soon as he died he was no longer the leader but I do think they are going to bring him back on the show. I know they are trying to get him to come on at least.

And yes I do believe they were purist too and did not like to include outsiders into the coven. Liv, Jo, Lucas and kai's dad certainly seemed that way. However, I disagree with the whole "that's why so many turn crazy part". There's actually no preexisting proof from TVD that crazy ran in their coven or that many of them were unstable. Kai was really the only 1 and his stemmed from the way his parents treated him like an outcast because he had no real magic, and Geminis prided themselves on being powerful witches. But other than kai (and now lizzie) no1 else in the family was just randomly crazy for no reason. Jo was sane and liv and Lucas were pretty stable. I think the show is only now pushing this twist of having lizzie be unstable like kai, as a form of retconning what they originally did, and a way to bring kai back in for a bit. Because if u watch back the episodes they clearly tell u why kai turned out the way he did, and he wasnt just psychotic for no reason, he knew about the merger and he knew how his parents felt about him. But with lizzie, she knows none of this and basically has no good reason to be experiencing random blackouts and episodes as she was practically sheltered as a child. So either there's something deeper wrong with her. Or the show is just now introducing this new dynamic/idea and doing a bit of retconning to draw on the TVD link. Because crazy doesn't really "run in the family" per say. Kai was the only 1 and like I said, he had a reason to be.

As long as the twins are alive they carry on the Gemini coven, which is why they were magically transported into Caroline to preserve the coven. (As a safety in case something like Kai did happens ie someone trying to destroy the coven. When they get older and have kids they will be carrying on the Gemini coven.

They are the coven lol! They will carry on the Gemini coven when one of them has kids. That is why as the last of the Gemini they were transported into Caroline to continue the coven and protect it.
I think they can't skip the merge without both of them dying because they are the only Geminis left. If there were other members, another set of twins can do the merge. Remember, Jo and Kai's parents kept on having children until another set of twins was born so that they can do the merge instead. In Josie and Lizzie's case, there is no other option.

They have their mother's witch genes, and their father's human genes, they don't have any of Caroline's genes, since she didn't help make them. Hope Mikaelson is the only one who's a born hybrid, tribrid actually. And the only reason she exists, is because her dad Niklaus Mikaelson had the werewolf gene when he got turned into an Original vampire. Notice how Hayley is the only one that Niklaus got pregnant. That only happened because his werewolf gene got triggered AFTER he was turned into a vampire, so his body wasn't fully "dead" anymore, since werewolves are alive. Otherwise we'd have a lot of other "Hope Mikaelsons" running around, because it's not like he was celibate until he met Hayley. The other werewolves have to die AFTER their curse is triggered to become a hybrid, meaning they cannot procreate, since their body is fully "dead" in case you want to question that. Josie and Lizzie are not in any way related to Caroline, so they have none of her genes, so they are neither vampire nor human because of her - that credit goes to Jo and Alaric. If you don't understand why they aren't half-vampire, half-witch like Hope after I've explained this to you, I will just assume you have no brain, because I'm wasting no more time typing stuff like this to you.

Even if u don't understand the supernatural rules of the show (which u should educate urself on b4 commenting), basic high school biology would teach u that a surrogate has no biological influence on the baby they carry. And blood does not cross the placenta during pregnancy. So no caroline's vampire blood is not in their veins. And even if it was (which is still not possible), it would've eventually left their system as they weren't actually born of a vampire and human. Their conception was between 2 humans. So they can't retain vampire blood or magic in their system. Basic common sense and deduction could help her figure that out but she's acting like she's slow to comprehend
I think the show has put in clues of “foreshadowing”. Lizzie’s mental health and family history for one, there will defined be something huge surrounding that. And emphasizing how much Lizzie is just like Caroline, like mother like daughter I think she will end up a vampire.

For some reason, I like to believe that the witch Alaric is talking about is Valerie Tulle from TVD season 7, but she’s not technically a witch, she’s a vampire-witch hybrid or also known as a ‘Heretic’ I mean she was part of the Gemini coven, who else could have known, for one thing I’d like for Valerie to appear on Legacies, particularly to help Alaric and Caroline with providing a possible solution to stop Josie and Lizzie from doing the merge; other than turning them both into hybrids like her (Heretics) and I like to think Caroline’s searching for her in her travels.
Though it’s possible other witches and covens know about the Gemini coven and the merge because Hope makes a call to her aunt Freya near the end of the season for information about the merge.

I think there’s more to the Gemini coven that we have yet to learn. They’re clearly playing a huge role in one if not more plots in the show.
It’s interesting because I didn’t think the twins HAD to merge considering Jo was living about her life while Kai was in the prison world. But now it seems that the merge is a MUST!?
Is the only reason Jo could live because there was another set of Gemini twins currently living ? (I know her dad was still the leader but the coven did let her leave after all expecting no merge from her) What happens if the twins do not merge? How does the magic work in this coven and whyyyy are they the only coven that spawn siphoner witches?? If you think about the merge itself it’s technically siphoning, except your entire twin. Hmmmmm 🤔 Also the magic in the coven is very strange if you think about it, produces siphoners, necessary twin merge, the entire coven’s life is connected to the leader?! What happens to the Gemini magic without a leader!? It’s questions like these that tie into TVD or TO that got me hooked on this show. I’m working past all the other weird creatures that kind of ruin this universe for me lol.

I don’t think their the only coven that have siphonen witches, I haven’t finished tvd buuuut I do know the Heretics were imprisoned by the Gemini coven and the way it was said sounded like they weren’t from the coven but idk I’m on season 7 right now. I do think if they don’t merge the power of their coven might go away? Or die? Also Lucas an Liv weren’t siphoners and they were Gemini twins, the merge is a spell it doesn’t need to be siphoners. I think they kind of found a loop hole in tvd unintentionally where Jo gave her magic to Kai because he was getting sick after merging with Lucas but that is a very specific circumstance. I think Liz and Jose are the only ones left of the coven so whatever happens will only happen to them. But Caroline is looking for more information so we’ll probably get an answer next season hopefully

And yes I do believe they were purist too and did not like to include outsiders into the coven. Liv, Jo, Lucas and kai's dad certainly seemed that way.
However, I disagree with the whole "that's why so many turn crazy part". There's actually no preexisting proof from TVD that crazy ran in their coven or that many of them were unstable. Kai was really the only 1 and his stemmed from the way his parents treated him like an outcast because he had no real magic, and Geminis prided themselves on being powerful witches. But other than kai (and now lizzie) no1 else in the family was just randomly crazy for no reason. Jo was sane and liv and Lucas were pretty stable.
I think the show is only now pushing this twist of having lizzie be unstable like kai, as a form of retconning what they originally did, and a way to bring kai back in for a bit. Because if u watch back the episodes they clearly tell u why kai turned out the way he did, and he wasnt just psychotic for no reason, he knew about the merger and he knew how his parents felt about him. But with lizzie, she knows none of this and basically has no good reason to be experiencing random blackouts and episodes as she was practically sheltered as a child. So either there's something deeper wrong with her. Or the show is just now introducing this new dynamic/idea and doing a bit of retconning to draw on the TVD link. Because crazy doesn't really "run in the family" per say. Kai was the only 1 and like I said, he had a reason to be.

He just said that Josie died and that directly or not Lizzie is responsible, anything could have happened she could have had one of her episodes and accidentally made a knife fly into Josie’s heart or she could have used other time of magic to kill Josie because she was afraid the Josie will ‘win’ so to speak! I genuinely believe that Josie is stronger and would have survived the merge!!!!

They are the coven lol! They will carry on the Gemini coven when one of them has kids. That is why as the last of the Gemini they were transported into Caroline to continue the coven and protect it.
I think they can't skip the merge without both of them dying because they are the only Geminis left. If there were other members, another set of twins can do the merge. Remember, Jo and Kai's parents kept on having children until another set of twins was born so that they can do the merge instead. In Josie and Lizzie's case, there is no other option.
