The Balmy Drum is a family of tongue drums or tongue pans that's been available for a while now online, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to expand my reviews to include these unique and interesting instruments.
Balmy sent me their biggest drum: the 14", 15-note "Grand Harmony," which they describe as "your soul's best companion," "a spiritual therapist," and "a magical sound meditation for your soul." The websites also kind of oversell how much it will change the lives of you and your children.
It's perpetually on sale, along with its two smaller companions, on both Balmy websites:
thebalmydrum.com
balmydrum.com
It's also often up on Amazon in Canada and the US (sold out as of this video's publication, but keep checking):
Amazon Canada: amzn.to/452CPur
Amazon USA: amzn.to/3DTEu9C

Excellent review.
Really nice sound quality - richer than the smaller ones.
This video is very informative and interesting about the prices.
That is crazy dude! I just got my 14 inch 15 note 4 60 bucks and it's awesome has the same rope trim I got an awesome emerald green color ❤
If you read the tuning page, the only instruction is DO NOT try to tune it. So, no, it can't be tuned.
Yup. Seeing this video 7 months later... Balmy is STILL on sale 🙂 So yeah. A bit dodgy on the marketing, but from what i hear in the sound demo, worth the price point.
It is quite a good drum.
@@woodsnstrings good to know. i'm considering tongue drum instead of full handpan. i don't have the budget yet 🙂
On the fence about buying one for my musical 4 year old
You might look at one of their smaller models to start with.
I want to get one for my husband, who has Dementia. Balmy look good on their website, but l want to be careful as so expensive.
I just got one. Not worth the price. There are similar and cheaper brands than Balmy
We have absolutely loved ours, it sounds beautiful, very forgiving to play and it draws in children and adults alike - just so relaxing and we have found it really worth it - we gotthe large one

That's just sad.
