I felt a continuous wave of happiness, sadness and longing when I first watched the final in-game cutscene, but it didn't bring me to tears like Gondou did. Sometimes I wish to have Gundou's capacity to be able to understand a game's story presentation in a deeply emotional level. Being able to have such feelings and attachments towards "a mere game" to the point of crying is such a gift. I was sort of moved to tears a little when I saw that Zhongli and Hutao celebrating together, but I couldn't make sense of why I felt that way. Gundou sensei's explanation for her being moved to tears in that scene cleared it up for me. Yeah. Zhongli finally is with the humans he treasured so much. There's no distance between them anymore. Him and Liyue are not just the idol and worshippers - They are family. And yes, Azdaha too. Even though I enjoy whipping him every week, him being offered the wine is a bittersweet feeling too. Gundou sensei is really good at putting these feelings to words. She's not just entertaining to watch but she's also the most immersed Genshin player I've seen.
8 months later now in almost November, and this event's cutscene still brings me joy, and even more happiness with Gundou-Sensei's reaction. The next Lantern Rite is closer than I thought and I'm excited for it.
