-- I love the Snowdog. It needs a bit more development though; such as a proper EFI motor and more modern track / boogie wheel tech to include modest suspension for smoother cornering.
I see it's chain drive... IDK. Usually snow machine do better with CVT.. It sounds under powered. I think it needs some refinement but could be useful for a winter trap line runner or late season hunting buggy around snow covered fields etc.
it's a 4 stroke so itll always sound underpowered...the 4 stroke guys will love hearing that lol. its chain drive but has a cvt...its a great machine and very tough but it's not meant to be s snowmobile.
It looks like there is no chain case , just an open chain and sprockets as can be seen at 0:53. Seems like a lot of crud could get in there or a rock or stump could damage it easily. Any thoughts or experience with this type of setup?
You just can't imagine how cheap these things cost in Russia, incredibly cheaper in average 3-4 times cheaper. From 1 to 2 thousand dollars only, while snowmobiles (brp , polaris, arctic cat, yamaha) are more expensive than in Canada and the USA.
Snowmachines have gone through the roof in price these days. I only buy used and try to do so in the spring when demand is low and so are prices. I wont be buying another one until after these ridiculous covid prices go down, though.
So if I could design a Snow-E-Dog, which could also be called a Snow Bolt, or a Snikachu, at a low price point. Essentially a plug and play mod to the existing platform; could you guys make it happen?
That thing needs a fan-cooled 340 Two stroke option It would rip with 30 HP that 4 stroke is like sounds like wet farts and is seems a little underpowered.
I would imagine hard to get stuck, nothing to "hang up on" like on a snowmachine belly pan, and you can easily step off and take weight off. But I would imagine it is slow in deep poweder, it seems to have a tendency to plow infront of it quite well. Would almost like to have seen a more slim front that would deflect snow going over it to the sides.
PowerModz thx i know that there is nothing to get hang up on to but I was wondering if the track would spin or the engine would lack of power like when you had to step of but in deeper snow like I have In my area
Ape Havoc but you can put this in the trunk of your Outback and take off. Great for someone who doesn't have alot of storage at their place but still wants to spend time in the woods. I have a cabin that I need a snowmachines to access in the winter. I am seriously considering ditching my conventional machines for this. No more 140 mile trip with an old trailer over treacherous passes. Just throw it in my trunk and run. Would be great for me because I just need transpo. Not looking to rip things up (not that there is anything wrong with that). 😎
Most of the uses I can think of for this could be done by a 4 wheeler, so I'm not sure why you're comparing it to a sport snowmobile. The other reply has a good point though, it seems ease of hauling might be a major plus side.
My dad built a homade version of this and I can tell you these will go where a 4 wheeler wouldn't dream especially in the fall driving over floating bog
I don't get this thing. Get a snowmobile, and if a trailer is the issue like some have stated, the price for this thing will buy you a used 4x4 half ton truck. I just don't get it.
Now i want to buy a sick sled with a blown engine and hack the front off and make this with sick tech under it slow but unstoppable tank ice fish hauler and tight woods ripper
@@PowerModzOfficial Haha so true. I'm from north eastern Minnesota and we live fish and snowmobile regularly I've just never seen one of those bad boys before haha
meh - we've not been able to snowmobile so we have to do something - and this powermodz machine costs me a lot of money out of my pocket - so if you want me to keep making videos I need to make money.
Sorry bro, It's not just you... Everybody that I like watching on TH-cam are really into selling merch now... Usually what you do on TH-cam should be out of free time... I guess everybody is trying to make a living out of TH-cam now. I miss the Old Skool TH-camrs !
Dang that snow dog boogies for what it is. Can't get over the staring sound. Just like a good old craftsman lawn tractor. This thing is neat
This would be epic for getting to great locations for Backcountry skiing.
Reminds me of my dad's 65 Foxtrac - not fast, but it was the machine that rescued the rest of us when we broke down.
I might sell the rev
Traded the minivan strait up I get 70 miles to a gallon on this hog lol! now I want one
Do a mod snowdog and put a 800 2 stroke in it
Raise it, put a proper mat with 3" lugs on there, really go rippin!
"Never seen anybody sidehill a snowdog before!" Ive never even seen anybody ride a snowdog let alone sidehill em.😂😂

Come down to West Yellowstone Montana. Amazing boondocking.

I'm amazed that you're able to stand up in the plastic sled. I would have thought it would have been very slick and hard to maintain your stance.
its tough is boon docking

its tight to the side not really an issue.
It’s no different that the open chain of a dirtbike or atv. They hold up just fine.

And , now I need one
Yep thats what I need. I'm in North west Ohio where do I go to get one, who do I call, what do I have to do? I need reverse.
Check snowdog.com for a USA dealer
@@PowerModzOfficial yeah! I found one about 60 miles away.
Can you plow a driveway with one of those?
I dont think it'd work that well.
I’m thinking you drag race the elan and the dog
Is the sled slippery? If so I guess you could load it up with grip tape.
How much for that one used once you are all done beating it up? Would you deliver to Washington? 😋
How did you fix the loss of power? Was it a throttle cable issue or how do you adjust the belt?
Adjusted the belt
How does it do in 18-36" of powder?
Did Snowdog also make one of there with an electric motor? I recall seeing a youtube video on them. Or maybe it was a different company.
I think that's a different company.
Love your vids !

Im not sure id have time!
I remember having a ride on a bolens and a red diablo too

Lol. Sounds like wet farts.
i baught a motorfist redline jacket any idea the shipping time?

Can this do deep snow....I mean, deep snow.... lol like where the machine gets buried..
Affordable beats walking 🚶♂️
hey lou, hook some weight up to that thing and max it out... show me what it can do
Can you do a Yamaha ovation build
Is it tough to stand on the sled?
no - ive down about 200kms in a weekend.
PowerModz you had to be sore, ha
How hard is it to get that stuck?

I would love to see a deep-snow capability test against the Elan 250 single.
I imagine you just step off and walk beside it. The whole unit is a track.
Video coming...I did some stuck testing.
PowerModz thx i know that there is nothing to get hang up on to but I was wondering if the track would spin or the engine would lack of power like when you had to step of but in deeper snow like I have In my area
How much does that cost
about 5k all in.
@@PowerModzOfficial wow. Here in russia it is 1200usd
Needs a jaws exhaust system
Cool rig
I have the same one and it it is a blast to ride it
When do we see a big bore conversion on this? 🤣🤣
the Russians in Siberia are everywhere! because the snowmobile is expensive and it will travel everywhere even in the spring)))
Actually looks like it does its job well
Love mine!
I don't understand these things. why would you 5k for a snow dog? for 5k you can get a mint 800 rev with low km.

This is designed for purpose. Sure in this video he's rippin like its a sled, you can't nimble a 800 like this!! Not a chance
Keep going snowdog
Louie ,pick on someone your own size
hahaha!, wtf! I love that thing! I need one!
Needs more power.....like allot more. Pretty pricey too .
you wouldn't want more power - it would get stuck too fast.
Now i want to buy a sick sled with a blown engine and hack the front off and make this with sick tech under it slow but unstoppable tank ice fish hauler and tight woods ripper
Try to sidehill with that thing!
i paid for WinRar o
what a waste of money. $5k for that ? I think not
Y Z I think it’s unique, i like it
Just ripping lads...
How fun?
tons of fun!
Already breaking it lol
Those snow dogs are expensive as @#$%
Not really - try buying a new sled
No crap
👏👍
Turbo it.
