And the fact that at the end, when they were all sleeping on the same bed, rei was sound asleep and looking relaxed while miri was grabbing his hair. That was just adorable.
God this is so wholesome, I absolutely love it. A cold and hardened assassin, warming up his heart to a little girl that entered his and his partner's life.
This series is a great mix of action but also such adorable sweet moments. Miri acts like a true child, but is bringing lightness to the dark lives the fathers r living. The series deserves more attention, and Miri needs to be protected at all costs lol
He grew up with a rough childhood, so it’s not surprising. He was so cold and disconnected. If Kazuki Hadn’t entered his life and act as his moral compass I don’t think he would’ve gotten attached to Miri. Those two saved Rei and gave him his soul back. This truly is a great series.
I need a scene this season where all three of them(Kazuki, Rei, & Miri) are in some crazy situation like a gunfight and the three are casually talking about like what should we do for dinner.
I don't think the mother really hates miri as she said, because miri is a happy child with good memories of her mom, and if her mom hated her and treated her bad, miri would not have those memories or be so confident. I think the mom just has gotten to a point where her life is no good and she has no way to get out of that situation( she has an abusive boyfriend, she is possibly become alcoholic, and she is clearly depressed), and that is not a situation in which she can properly take care of her daughter, so she just wanted to get Miri out of that at least. Not saying she is not to blame, of course, but i really suspect is not that simple as she just hating her daughter. I really hope maybe they will explore more about the mom, even if i want miri to stay with her new dads.
@@Total.drama.fan.forever no one is saying is an excuse. What i am saying is that i think is more complicated than the mother simply hating her and that she clearly wasn't an abusive mother or always bad, or miri would not have such a bright and confident personality. I would like to learn more about the mother and what happened for her to decide to sent miri away after four years. Even if i still want miri to stay with rei and kazuki, i think it could be interesting for the mom to eventually recover and be again in miri's life in a positive way, even if rei and kazuki remain as the ones mainly raising her.
@@Thatscrazybro1l i don't think believing that in itself is disgusting, an unwanted child can def ruin the life of someone who is not ready to be parent. Of course is not the child's fault, but is also more complicated that simply saying the parent is disgusting . as far as we know, she never actually took it out in the child and abused her. And for four years miri grew up as a very happy and confident child who has happy memories of her mother singing to her and telling her stories and things like the " spell to make the fear go away", etc. So what we know from what miri says is that her mother did an effort to take care of her for those four years, even if she maybe really hated being a mother, she tried. And what we see of the mom now is that she is clearly in a very bad place and can barely even care for herself. Miri certainly deserves parents who are happy to have her and raise her, of course, which is why i want her to stay with kazuki and rei. But the situation with her mother is much more complicated than the mom simply being a bad person and is not like if she told miri directly those things or was directly mean towards miri.
Something tells me when this kid inevitably gets kidnapped by their enemies, (as happens in all animes) Emo-dad Rei will make Liam Neason in Taken look tame...
I don't know what is going on but I believe his father didn't save him when he needed him the most and he doesn't want to be like that,so he chose to save his daughter.. To be better... Or maybe I'm talking nonsense since I haven't watched this anime..
His dad treated him like hired muscle and nothing more. She isn't even related to him biologically. She tells him a papa is someone who saves you when you are in trouble, and that is all that is really important.
@@cassie6146 or, or , hear me out. He does that BUT, miri is so pure that she melts her grandpa too and the guy ends up admitting he regrets not being a better dad and he loves his son and then we just have wholesome grandpa who spoils his granddaughter too.
miri is adorable. i hope we get more wholesome episodes and not anything sad. when her mom was talking about wanting to hit her because she would laugh and smile. i just wanted to punch the mom.
No. He denied being her guardian (not the same as parent, more like uncle or godfather or something like that) and denied he’s minding his friend’s kid. He called himself her papa. That’s a big deal for two reasons - one being that Miri had been advised prior there are times she should not address Rei or Kazuki as her papas, as that could get them in trouble and endanger her. Kazuki had to tell her cases like “if it is people like the child protection volunteers in the park, it’s fine”. The second is that Rei had been denying he’s her papa, because he doesn’t easily feel emotional attachment thanks to his past. But Miri’s earlier words got through to him and he knew he could no longer deny it - he and Kazuki really are her papas.
Usually when there's that kind of development the girl refuses to call "papa" the foster parent, that's a red flag you should immediately recognize. And yes, I know at least 2 other anime that did that.
Kirishima grew up loved, even after joining the Yakuza, considering all of Aoi’s scolding was more like a big brother chewing out his little brother for causing chaos again. He had some idea of how to show affection because he knew it. Rei and Miri are giving each other much needed affection, Miri helping him nurture his inner-child, and in the scene where the three share the bed, she causes him to feel so secure he is out like a light. She reminds him what it means to be a papa (“Papa is the one who protects you”) and he realises he can be that for her, even if he still needs to keep finding his heart or his smile. They’re both very different characters but are great caregivers in their own ways, and in turn, Yaeka and Miri help them feel that love is absolutely reciprocated, so they are definitely doing something right.

Episode 2: It's just Rei
Episode 3: Don't talk to me or my daughter ever again.

I am glad Rei went back for Miri and accepts being Miri’s other papa. I get a feeling he is slowly opening up to her.

Just love how the cops stand there awkwardly thinking 'Well, that was oddly overdramatic''
Friends kid, No.
"I'M HER PAPA!"
That hit hard, Papa Rei to the rescue.
So cute how she jumps into his arms ❤️
Yeah, when that happens even in the real life it's a little gratificating 🙂

Feels bad for his dad leaving him but now he can be her papa
I liked how this episode took the time to develop relationships after the more action packed first two episodes.

so cute, he really said that’s my kid

Rei better than my papa who's been "out for a cigarette" for 15 years.
When literal contract killers are better dads XD
I hope we'll get to see Rei smile eventually. ;u;
Rei smiling will either look adorable, or incredibly scary XD
We did, remember the smile spell
In episodes 4 and 5 😭
Hard to believe he was willing to shoot through her to hit his target just a couple of episodes ago
