  • On the third day of our unexpected cruise stop in Belgium, we deliberately saved Ghent, which many internet users have hailed as the most beautiful town, for last. Let's see if it truly lives up to its reputation as a fairyland. We explored the city on foot, starting with Sint-Niklaaskerk (St. Nicholas' Church) and The Post (formerly the post office), as we crossed St. Michael's Bridge. Aside from trying the local specialty, Cuberdon (Ghent sugar), we also indulged in the famous fries at Frites Atelier Gent. We then encountered Gravensteen (the Counts' Castle) and visited the Old Fish Market (Tourist Information Center) to pick up a tourist map.
