with these distances, the 5 or more likely 6, *could be a contender for a replacement 4 iron for those with more difficult to hit "I" series irons or cavity backs/ blades. would be nice to compare vs. say a crossover or I series 4i. thanks for the video - the iron set as a whole is very clear in who would/ should buy these: those looking for more height and distance and Ping has always kept this group of players in mind with their "G" series clubs. kudos to Ping
Yeah say that but when I went for a fitting the TM stealth wiped the floor with distance forgiveness and feel over the ping plus they was cheaper and my opinion looked much better🤷🏻♂️ my personal opinion there the worst feeling clubs out of the lot and I tried every game improvement iron last year.
Hi James it's taken a while but I would just like to thank you for the entertaining content you have provided my husband has not missed 1 blog since the start of lock down Good luck for the future for you and your family .
On the sound...one more thing to consider is that (generalisation incoming) the people buying these could well have slower swing speed than you...AND they may well be playing a softer ball than your TP5X (from memory). Agreed that people in the market for these know what they're getting. And agree that Ping in general aren't a "shouty" brand - they tend not to cry wolf too much, so when they say something, I tend to give them benefit of the doubt.
Ever since my parents got me a set of ping eye 2s in my junior golf days, that high offset, big iron/face look when addressing the ball is so comforting and just asking me to hit that perfect shot. Did try out other brands over the years but eventually came back to the ping g series irons. As a 12 handicap it doesn't feel right buying the latest year clubs (Ive always bought used and regripped) but I just might pick up a set of these 730s. I think they look amazing
Still playing my ping g700 irons. Great iron for a slow swinger like myself. Very forgiving and fly very high. Would love a set of these if I could afford them.
If you hit several shots with an G730 eight iron (not looking at the bottom of the club) and was told mischievously it is a seven iron, what would your review of the club say?
Great video James, I thought I would let you know I brought those Ram VIP irons and absolutely love em, I actually ditched my cobra irons as the VIP irons were more consistent and much longer in fact 25 -30 yards so glad I watched that video, and yes more rounds played due to not wasting money on over ego brands 😂
I played the Nike sumo driver for a couple seasons and I constantly got crap for the sound yet when I can hit a club long with a nice power fade that finds fairways I don’t care if sounds like a fart lol.
Great review! Ping G730 is a good looking iron. And I am sure one of the most if not the most forgiving iron. But that sound? It doesn't have to have that sound. You can use the insert to adjust the sound too. Why that feeling??
I had a club firing testing my 6 year old Ping G-Max irons vs G-430 vs G730. My G-Max performed as well, if not slightly better. Talking with Ping folks in Phoenix, they noted some of their engineers feel those G-Max irons were still 'the bomb', so to speak
I hit the 730's during a fitting and the distance was impressive. However, these just didn't look or feel right. I doubt I could hit a shot around a tree or hit it low into the wind. I ended up getting the i530 irons.
Don’t look all that different to the Tommy Armour 845 irons. $300 at Dicks sporting goods on the US. Would love to see a comparison to this budget brand. ⛳️
Got fitted in these with steel shafts couple weeks ago 5-50° Personally like the looks of them and having the 7 iron go further than my current 5 doesn't hurt either 😂
Great review James would you say these are the most forgiving irons against their competition? I’m a senior 16 handicapper with a 74 mph swing speed and launch 21-23 degrees, descent 40-46 degrees carry 140 yards ( 7 iron data). My two best irons in testing have been G430 and T350. Fancy the G730 with more distance and forgiveness and think they will be around for 2-3 Years so probably a better buy at these prices!
The newest “distance” irons are just a gimmick! Strengthen the lofts and you are left with adding two more wedges to your bag to fill the huge gap on the low end.
I went to ping yesterday April 19th to get fitted for a driver and irons and came away with nothing. They couldn’t beat my 6 year old Callaway flash. So much for technology Ping must have stood still for 6 years. Very disappointed.I will now try other brands.
Even if you can hit this pitching wedge 160 yards I doubt 99.9% of the people who are buying these are going to be anywhere close to being able to do that
Best , great , irons in golfs....always came, release on 2024 ...stand for , too the second, do second for it ...( Goals, goals ,goals always, always ....always.....best ...
Titleist T400 same performance but forged face so feels better . These clubs are pointless for James swing speed , it’s what they do for people with much slower swing speeds. They would love a 7 iron going 150 yards and launching high .
Cumbersome not Clumbersome Jimbo 🤣. 7 Iron power loft 26.5. it's getting ridiculous. Wedge at 40 degrees. Going to end up with 5 wedges in the bag. Not for me Ping sorry. Great review as ever though 👌👍
So basically they are delofted by one club, or take one off the number on the bottom of the club. It’s crazy we are seeing nearly 8 deg difference between what is seen as conventional (older lofts) and some new models. We’ll soon just see the loft being put on the bottom of the club then we can compare like for like.
@@guyr7351 I prefer more traditional lofts but manufacturers are not really doing them in more forgiving clubs. I prefer older model irons. 32-34 7 iron. I'm all for the modern more forgiving drivers and putters
@@mrwoo33 yes I know what you mean, older lofts would have the PW at about 48 deg so you could then only need to add two more, although old days I guess SW was 52 deg so then maybe only one Extra wedge ?
@@mrwoo33 shorter end same for me it was pw44 deg, then 52 and 60 deg wedges. Picked up 3 ping wedges 50/54/58 to give a much more even spread. Other end its driver 3W, 3H(21 deg) 4iron -PW in Wilson D7 forged

Ping make the best GI of any manufacturers 👍👍 I gained the ping G series a while ago now and helped me to single figures
Clunky , big ugly off set shovels.

Great video J-Rob, keep up the good work!

The G710 were also pretty clicky but launched crazy. VERY forgiving.

They look like I couldn’t afford them 😂😂
Just get any g iron from the last 10 years.. app about the same
Probably 1200$
I might be able to afford them in about 20 years...

I have a set of cleveland launchers and the 7-5 is hollow bodied and frankly I like the feel and sound. I would have taken a full set like that.
I think I will keep my current set of irons....I had them fitted for me, as I am 6'6"!!
What was the point of the g430s 🤷🤷🤷 these look better tbh
lol. Good job Bobby! You’re getting it😊
I hit the 730's during a fitting and the distance was impressive. However, these just didn't look or feel right. I doubt I could hit a shot around a tree or hit it low into the wind. I ended up getting the i530 irons.
How do they stack up to the eleven golf hybrid irons ?
Wonder how these compare with the Wilson Dynapower?
The G 425's are the BEST irons I've ever hit!
If they improve my game I really don't care what they sound like.
Don’t look all that different to the Tommy Armour 845 irons. $300 at Dicks sporting goods on the US. Would love to see a comparison to this budget brand. ⛳️
What? The only Armour 845's I've seen in years has been at the Play it Again stores.

Poor Bobby, can’t get to hit the irons 😂😂😂

Nice irons.remind me of wilson staff d9 irons.
Another top drawer iron review James
Do you recommend these irons for slower swing speed players like myself. 7 iron swing speed only 66mph on average. Thanks😊
Be good to know how they compare to my G700’s. i.e is it worth upgrading?
Brilliant as usual
The newest “distance” irons are just a gimmick! Strengthen the lofts and you are left with adding two more wedges to your bag to fill the huge gap on the low end.
In Canada these irons are $1,899.99 with steel shafts.
9:50
Ping 710 black irons mar😂ked up very quickly brushed satin much better finish Wots the cost
I use my ping eye 2s because a 4 iron looks cooler in the bag than an extra wedge
I went to ping yesterday April 19th to get fitted for a driver and irons and came away with nothing. They couldn’t beat my 6 year old Callaway flash. So much for technology Ping must have stood still for 6 years. Very disappointed.I will now try other brands.

Have the Beautiful Cobra Forged Tech ,Look nothing like these Mallets!!
So much true... i just bought it and it feels amazing... i can hit 145m using pw
For me this iron set are great investment
I’d want 6 iron has my highest iron with hybrid 4
Why would someone get these over less expensive brands that have that same kind of look?
Oh Jesus 🤢🤢🤢 That would be a 260 yard 7 iron 🤣🤣🤣 Power bats plus
Jacked lofts
This iron is so ugly. Ping is going the wrong direction with the 700 series.
Don’t tell me they are hollow bodied foam filled like all the others
If I was to describe these in a word it would be FUGLY.
Look like Walmart clubs
Ping g's. Inserts fell out of most irons. Buyer beware. Complete garbage
Blah, blah, blah. Too much talk ...Can you get to the point quicker and talk less?
Simply JUNK!!!
