  • Businesswoman and actress Priscilla Presley has discussed her relationship with the late singer and actor Elvis Presley, following the release of Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ biopic.
Ms Presley married the music icon in 1967 and the pair divorced after six years of marriage.
“We had a great relationship,” Ms Presley told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“Everything just seemed to be more relaxed, more at home, when the tension wasn’t there.
    “We were better not married.”

In his day segregation was still active and I know as recently as 1972 ish there were schools down south that still had the black and white signs up (they weren’t supposed to but did). Like him, I grew up around those messages yet have never been racist. And I agree, Elvis definitely wasn’t. It’s funny because folks who call others racists seem racist themselves. I’ve noticed this heavily in the past couple of years. The majority have poor insight and an inability to look at facts over feelings. There is also an inability to dive into history instead of reading a Wikipedia excerpt. For those who are modern day racists these judgey folks praise them because they don’t even know. It’s disturbing and frightening to see how stupidity has set us back.

@@reckondragon2130 He knew her for a couple of months when she was only 14. Then he went back to the US and she stayed in Germany. They were never even on the same continent again until she was 17.
Then she moved to Memphis, initially staying at Elvis' father's play nine weeks before she turned 18. She finished school the same month. Many people think she was at school in Memphis for a long time. It wasn't. It was from mid March 1963 until May 1963.
I don't know why her parents allowed her to leave home and go there so close to leaving school, It would have made sense for her to finish school and turn 18 first. You'd have to ask her parents why they agreed to that.

But she was proud to have that Presely name.... Abd when he said didn't want her physically after she gave birth... What a key down. Latterly he was turned off by her... No wonder She went after Mike Stone... Elvis ego was hurt when he found out. Even though he didn't want her he didn't want everyone to know she wanted someone else beside him...
Elvis was a great singer and intertainer

But millions of folks who were born long after his passing enjoy and know Elvis today, because of Miss Priscilla’s hard work and dedication to her late husband. She’s amazing. On the question of cancel culture today. Elvis already lived through that in the 1950’s. He was banned from the waist down on TV. Many radio stations refused to play his records etc. Today he would be broken hearted to see the world has gone backwards. Priscilla is so respectful, gentle, sweet and delicate and I love how she keeps Elvis‘s legacy and his fame. He is so lucky to have Priscilla and vice versa. No wonder he fell in love with her. Such a beautiful and sweet soul and of course she was often very unhappy and annoyed by the fact Elvis had so many females jump on him and literally eat him alive because he was so desired but she ALWAYS respected that and never once lashed out or got mad by the fact he kisses fans whatsoever. She had a lot of respect for his career and him as a person. Such a beautiful and lovely couple and Elvis was truly a very hard working, very talented, kind and amazing man and there will never be someone like him ever again. He was an icon and will forever be irreplaceable. The movie was truly great too it was one of the best movies I watched. This was a great interview with Priscilla Presley and she looks better than ever!! Her answers were coherent spot on and highly intelligent and she was laughing her head off when she said the women used to jump Elvis that was hysterical. I'm just sorry that Piers Morgan kind of talked over her from time to time that wasn't right but maybe he's only got so much time with these interviews so he's got to kind of butt in when he can...

If you look up the history when Elvis started it out, he was banned in many places in USA, and censored in Ed Sullivan show... Great interview & I have much respect for Priscilla & Lisa Marie keeping Graceland alive & thriving. I got to tour it in my 20's & it was amazing!
That said, my favorite movie about Elvis will always be the 1988 version called "Elvis and Me." It stars Dale Midkiff as Elvis and Susan Walters as Priscilla. Dale Midkiff's performance as Elvis is so on point & he looks so much like Elvis in the movie. He nailed that role & I always felt his acting in that movie was very under-rated. I'm not sure if he won any awards for it.....I'd have to look it up. 🤔
If you haven't seen that 1988 movie check it out. It's REALLY good.

It just makes me sad that the family did not go receive the Medal of Freedom from President Trump in 2018. I feel had Elvis been alive today he would have wanted to receive that medal himself because of his love for this country. I know he loved the police and was very pro-police. I never in my life thought people thought Elvis was racist until the movie. It was just insane to me since he idolized gospel and all the talent in Memphis.

She is, and will always be, just an absolute genuine, beautiful gem of a lady. She's just as much an icon as Elvis. I've personally seen some famous women try and emulate this soft, calming, femininity and grace, yet behind closed doors, they're very different. (Or some go the other route and try to emulate tough-as-nails masculinity so as to seem untouchable, but then sadly break down in private.)
Priscilla seems to have stayed true to herself her entire life. Interview after interview, she's the same warm, generous spirit. I respect her very much.
