  • This futuristic entertainment venue in Las Vegas is the world’s largest spherical structure.
It squats on the Las Vegas skyline like an enormous spaceship, black and mysterious - until night falls, when it will glow like the Earth from space.

This only works in Vegas. When they built the Allianz Arena in Munich, which just has illuminated blobs on the outside, they were required to limit the color change interval as otherwise it could distract drivers and cause accidents. Though that tells you more about the ape brains behind the wheel. This looks absolutely trippy in comparison, how it hasn't occurred to anyone that perhaps this is a massive distraction to everyone that sees it is remarkable. That and the fact it consumes and ungodly amount of power even compared to Vegas in general. I don't quite get who this is for anyways. The folks in the hotels nearby, plane passengers, you have a hard time seeing all of it from ground level and you need to be some distance away to actually get a good visual of it too. Like it only works from the point you recorded, anything much lower or closer looks bad. The technology inside is really cool, but the outside show seems a bit thrown into the wind. Sure it is meant to get people there, but it's actually really difficult to get to by foot and by the time the lightshow really draws you there it's already dark and you are likely to not be fit to drive. At least the bus and other shuttle connections appear to exist. This is just all around a little odd, cool and the technology is impressive, but nonetheless an odd application and combination.
