@@pesto12601 I have an immensely stressful job as a paramedic. Watching a fun, simple, soothing and uncomplicated video about making candy gets high marks for me.
I'm a paramedic, and lost a patient shortly before this video was posted. This helped take the edge off that. Thanks Greg. Your content means a lot more than just making candy to some of us
i am a machinist that has the equipment to do this. just off the top of my head i would initially estimate around $800 a for a pair of rollers in brass. there are probably lots of shops that could do it cheaper. i tend to be more organized towards one-off parts in high precision and difficult materials so my machine rates match that.
I really enjoyed the little clip at the end, reminds me of when TH-cam had annotations and there’d be little Easter eggs and interactive games and stuff. I miss TH-cam.
I ordered these at the behest of my great-grandma. She’s 83 and she said she remembered her mom talking about making horehound candy when she (her mom) was a young child. I’m incredibly pleasantly surprised by just how good these are! I thought they might be too medicinal, and as someone who has hated every tea with marshmallow root I’ve ever had I was skeptical... But of all the candies I ordered for us these have been the biggest hit so far! They’re actually addictive and I love the “not quite liquorice” flavour they have! The shape is also really nice! It has a really good mouthfeel and I have sensory issues so eating by texture is a big factor in my life! My grandma loves them as well! She said she could see why her mom talked about them and that they were very good! They will be a definite re-order once we work our way though the other candies.
I love learning about the history, nature, and function of candy and it's ingredients and the meaning of words while watching the candy creation process and having it explained.
Why haven’t you guys got over a million subs yet? I’ve been following you guys for years. I feel the way you guys do this is the way it’s supposed to be. It’s like you make it with passion and not just a job. ❤️
This is great! I love horehound candy! And the idea of adding mallow root to it as well is just divine! I hope you guys all stay safe down there, and hope that this all blows over soon so I can come visit on my next trip down! Keep on making great candy! Now... I need to go buy more candy!
i have been watching your videos for about a year now and this video convinced me i could not hold out any more. i just have to say i wish i didn't wait the year. i got this one and 10 others. All of them are some of the best candy i have ever had. thank you for doing what you do. love the videos and now i love the candy too.
Had the pleasure of stopping by this place a couple years back. If you are ever road-tripping, add this to your list. They have some great breakfast too!
I got a Marsh Mallow for the garden soley because of sweets I loved as a kid, they were all different herbal cough rememedies. Marhmallow was my favourite so when I was doing my garden this year with medicinal plants i knew I needed one.
Im so glad yall are making new videos, these are just so satisfying. I tried looking at other channels but I like how you talk and explain things better.
Our candy is arriving today and my family is beyond excited! We're all going a bit stir crazy right now and thought some special candy would give us something to look forward to.
I just received my order in the mail today and I have to say, the Black Currant is delicious. I also got the Apple and Lime Sour Soda. The lime has quite the kick. So good!!
I received 6 bags of your candy today, and it tastes soooooooo delicious! Its flavorful and smooth! I'm actually eating one right now! It is sooo worth the 43$ we spent!
Just got my order in an finally got to try some of your candy and it is out of this world! Super addicted to the forbidden fruits and the acid drops already and i still have more to try =D Keep it up yall!
I've been following this channel when I lived up in the Northwest, now I live in Tallahassee Florida. I gotta check this place out now that I have the chance.
Thank you so much for continuing to put out great, original content. Especially in the age of CoViD-19, I love when these pop up on my notifications. Please, keep up the great work!
We just moved to Tallahassee about a month ago and bisited the storefront last weekend. While I was looking around I saw your digital counter near the candy making station so I decided to follow you. Turns out, I was already a follower! I didn't realize that!
These ones had a weird flavor profile got a cola start turned into a light black licorice then faded out as a mint. Was interesting but your Banana and lime sours really knocked my socks off glad I bought X2 of each.
I cook a fair bit for a part time job. I've learned that cooking really isn't hard; but oftentimes the hardest work in a kitchen is cleaning all the pots and pans. How do you guys manage to get all of that molten and burnt sugar out of the cooking pots?
i love how he always smiles it means he truely loves his job and it makes me feel really happy im buying the corona and orange image candys i cant what :)
herby (thyme/sage) with a bit of sweet coffee flavor? They're really delicious; I had the humbugs. I'd order more but the shipping to the EU is just crazy expensive. Edit I just checked; and shipping for 32$ of candy is 65$! That's just insane.
I just received my baggie of these 2 days ago and I'd say it tastes like black licorice, but better. Minty perhaps? Very herbal. I already have a couple more in my cart along with the honey lavender drops.
Currently using these as cough drops, great flavor (I normally hate liquorice) and works well for me. Had the honey lavender too but they melted (I got them on the hottest day of the year) and the plastic stuck to them, so complete loss on those. Love your candy, and the videos!
Been binge watching the channel and you do some great work. Always wanted to be a candy maker but my hands have such a low tolerance for heat that it would never work.
Thank you for posting a video, I had no idea they used Marshmallow root in horehound cough candies. I've always looked for horehound candies when I'd have issues with weather changes, it, hibiscus tea and rosehip are my go-to herbal remidies for coughing and sore throat from asthma attacks. I hope I can order some of your candies when my budget has more room in it. * virtual safe hugs to you and your staff * From Seattle, Washington.
My parents and I are most likely visiting Florida around thanksgiving!! And I asked mom if I could stop by and see you guys since I love your content!! And I might be able to!! :D
I wonder if it’s possible to 3D print a mold to make custom designs for different types of candy shapes that don’t exist. Or maybe even some custom drop candy that say lofty on them!
Now that I'm all caught up on videos, I have a few idle questions I've been meaning to ask. 1) Sometimes, right before you start equalizing the temperature of the candy on the cooling table, you poke the middle of the still-molten candy with your spatula. I've always wondered what that's for. 2) Do you guys ever bang the undersides of your arms on the point of the candy hook while you're pulling candy? It's a little amazing to me that I've watched pretty much every video, and I've never once seen that happen on camera. When you're lifting the candy over the hook to start another pull, I keep thinking about how I'm clumsy enough (and/or short enough) that my arms would absolutely bang the hook in the process, but you guys clear it every time. Does that happen, and you guys just don't do it (anymore) due to long practice? Or is it actually really easy to avoid doing that? 3) What does horehound candy taste like? It's not a flavor I'd even heard of before this. Is it common enough in some parts of the world (like Florida) that people don't expect to have to explain the flavor? I'm from Ohio, for the record, and I've never seen or heard of it before. (And yes, I know I could look up what horehound tastes like, but I feel like that might not be accurate/reflective of what your candy specifically tastes like.)
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺, just love this so soothing interesting video, wanted to purchase some but alas will cost $70AUD shipped, wanted to make some HOREHOUND OLD ELIXIR 💕🎊🎉 THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TALENT!
Me and my gf are planning on opening a candy shop in the future. Any tips one where to find equipment? And any tricks of the trade that arent trade secrets i cant know?
Ok so I’ve wanted to visit this place for so long now. I was supposed to fly to Florida on the 23rd of this month but of course, with everything going on my holiday was cancelled. To order one pack of candy from the online store it would cost $24 including shipping to the UK which seems too much to pay for one bag. It just means I’ll have to try and make it next year instead but I swear I will visit as soon as is possible!
I just had a thought, you should create image candy with the entire alphabet and then each flavour corresponds to the letter, like Apple for A, rhubarb for R, etc. Not sure if is really possible but think it would be so cool and really push the boundaries of what people think can be candy flavours
@@natedefrees5862 I'm in the same situation... You could order them online but the shipping cost and import fees are so high, that it isn't really worth it for one person

I wonder how much it would cost to get a new roller with "Lofty Pursuits" on it so that you have your own 'branded' candy

We should totally get the Slo Mo Guys our to watch the drops break apart and watch the candies being chopped apart on the anvil
The collaboration would be cool but he could just get a slow Mo camera
But imagine watching a big slab of cooled candy cracking in super slow mo
@BlueNuke 2, well, yeah..
But it would give them quite a bit more business if they did collaborate, so I mean-
