For example someone believe in something but after affected by Erosion they belief and thoughts might end up completely opposite to their previous believe. This is natural and caused by no external force. Also it's completely mental Now the one i think affected Guizhong might've been similar to what Xiao suffers from, or as they call it the wrath of the dead Gods, We know how badly it affected the other four Yakshas

I have a theory that Guizhong was actually killed by Zhongli because her high intelligence led her to question the legitimacy of Celestia and discovering their forbidden truths and secrets, so Celestia forces Zhongli to kill Guizhong. Perhaps he had to choose between all the inhabitants of Liyue (humans and adepti) getting to live or killing Guizhong. Zhongli didn't want to do this but knew he had no choice or power that could overthrow Celestia and as an Archon Celestia is his boss and his puppet master. The Archiac Petra artifact set pretty much confirms Morax has killed friends. He chose to kill Guizhong with compassion in a field of glaze lilies - the same field where he first met her. HOWEVER, I don't really think she is actually dead. I believe that the Tsaritsa (the Cryo Archon), who was once known as the god of love, formed a contract with Zhongli to help him fake Guizhong's death. This contract would be the exact same one Zhongli referred to when he willingly gave up his gnosis to the Fatui. He said he formed his contract long ago. I like to think the ever gentle and nice guaizhong would be kind of antagonistic for the archon quest, using her genius to come up with tests that make her look bad but are ultimately harmless, just her being thorough, going the extra mile and taking it up a notch just cuz she cares so much for liyue and wanted it to be safe (thinking highly of zhongli's work could also cause her to raise the bar, and go really far with her trials)

"zhong-l-li..." zhongli flinched as he heard the meek voice of the dying woman in his arms call out his name. guizhong reached to cradle zhongli's hand which was on her cheek and intertwined her fingers into his. she then reached out to wipe his tears that were streaming down his face. zhongli couldn't hold it in anymore. why was he going to lose her? she did nothing wrong to deserve this. why couldn't the world just take him instead? it was tiring to see everyone you love dying before you. that was the pain of immortality. "i hope i am pleasing you guizhong. your trust means a lot to me. i will protect liyue and fulfil the task you set me. thank you."
This was a great story but for me personally it really calls to one massive issue I have in genshins story, that being I refuse to believe Gods in this universe just die of old age it just makes no sense that's not how God's work. But that's just me again this was a great story none the less
They don't die of old age, erosion is different. When gods erode they loose their minds and go beserk, eventually having to be killed or sealed by other gods.
