I wasn't familiar with the 140th PA Infantry, so watching this was all new information to me. When Kris talked about Col. Roberts writing to his last remaining 10 year old daughter after his wife and other two daughters had died I said to myself, "Please don't say that he died." Unfortunately that was the case, but it was uplifting to hear how the regiment embraced the daughter.
Thanks for sharing your familial connections to this battle and the 140th Pa., Kris. Your insightful additions to any video are always special. And Evan, I could watch and listen to you indefinitely. I hope we will be seeing a lot more of you in future videos! Thank you both, for helping to tell the history of Gettysburg-and the story of our country. 👍
My ancestor Daniel Wychoff servered in the 140th. We were just there at that monument on July 2nd. Wow thank you for creating this. It means alot to me and my family!
Well done Evan!!! Kris, thank you for sharing a part of your family history with us, it enhances the larger historical events that occured at the time.
Thank you very much for your excellent discussion of the day to day events on this 159th Anniversary of Gettysburg. I Love how this year you are using many others and especially young people in describing the events! I’m enjoying and learning more than ever and I’ve been watching American Battlefield Trust doing this every year. Thank you ALL very much!
Enjoyed the personal account and the reaction of Washington County experiencing a horrific experience. Appreciate the slow video of the monuments near the end. Helps to capture and read later.
I’m trying, but the gettis burg thing is really annoying. Whether it is the proper pronunciation or not, I have NEVER heard anyone, including renowned historians, park rangers, locals, etc. pronounce it that way. There is a pretentiousness to his insistence on pronouncing it that way. In any event, you guys do fantastic work and I have really enjoyed the content lately. Bravo!
Evan Portman. Another excellent historian. Welcome Evan.
Such a sad story about Col. Roberts. He seems like such a good Dad and good man who really loved his daughter. Thanks Chris for remembering him.

Fascinating and riveting. The devotion to duty by these men and their valor is remarkable to this day.

Such touching stories of these brave men.
Fantastic stories 👏
Great presentation, I saw the return of the Sword noted in a transcription of Capt. David Porter Rittenhouse's daily diary.
Suggestion, being a split state in the war Delaware sent 12,000 troops could you possibly show the monument to Delaware?
My Great Great Grandfather was 1st sgt in co K of the 118th PA
Nice job Evan.
# Evan !
Isn't this area also called The Loop. Why is it called that and is that a name from the battle or does it predate or post date it?
550 men from 140th vol inf pa, lost at Gettysburg 50 percent casualties...
The audio is horrible guys in most of the recent videos
Sounds good to us. We did have technical difficulties with the "Weather, Heat, Hydration" video but that's all.
