I think that one of the many reasons for the great hiatus was because SBCG4AP sold less copies than expected and might not have made its money back. TBC were probably counting on the revenue from that to fund further Homestar projects and when it didn't materialize, that's when they decided it was time to move on. Based on that experience, I can understand if TBC are hesitant to get back into commercial game development again.

It's a bit like making an NES game in terms of graphics and sound, and each object can be programmed to react a certain way when tapped on. It's about as in-depth as you could ask for when making a 5 second game!
@@McShmoodle Warioware: Mega Party Games Inc. for Gamecube is a masterpiece, that game is seriously so dang fun, as is warioware twisted on GBA which did a masterful job of utilizing the full functionality of the gyroscope motion sensor. Mewtroid and Sew Hard are my favorites from Warioware twisted, they get very intense, really fun high score games.
We need a remaster of Strong Bad's Cool Games for Attractive People badly. I know it's a stretch, but I wouldn't mind having a remaster of the game I loved.
20 year old me and 12 year old me are collectively losing our minds. I remember spending hours trying to recreate the trogdor theme with that godawful sounding guitar in the music makermatic, until finally getting something that sounded close enough. WarioWare D.I.Y… I sucked at making any games with the thing, so all I truly did was complete what wasn't optional, port all the Showcase microgames to here, port all the D.I.Y 101 microgames to Showcase, and dabble with the music thing for 5 years. My music composing sucked too. Maybe it wouldn't sound as bad if D.I.Y recycled Touched's soundfont, but that's just me.
I remember being really into Warioware DIY, playing hours and hours and hours of it, making games upon games upon games....... .........And then a competition came up to make a sports-related mini-game (with the prize being able to get into E3). Mine was a simple shoot-the-basketball-into-the-moving-hoop minigame... Drawn well enough, designed well enough, with exceeding factors of difficulty........ And then when the winners were announced, mine didn't win. Mine wasn't even in the runner-ups. Well, that's fine, so long as the competition was at least on-par.......... But many of the runner-ups were nonsense games that had NOTHING TO DO WITH SPORTS, barely playable/understandable controls, and pretty much trash. And that's not coming from a competitor's viewpoint, that's coming from just a game design viewpoint. I was so discouraged by the mismatched judging that I altogether stopped entering its contests, and soon enough: stopped making games on WWDIY. The same thing happened with Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer.... I adored that game. But the horrible judging metric (aka whoever has more followers on twitter) turned me off from that game entirely too...
