Unspooling that copper is so satisfying! Definitely not gonna get rich doing these but man they look like a ton of fun! I enjoy just sitting at my desk and micro scrapping while I watch TH-cam. A stress reliever for me indeed! Take care my friend!
@@Virginianative1968 it is very satisfying unspooling them indeed 😁
Me too my friend. I like to keep my hands busy while watching tv, so micro scrapping is perfect for that.
Have a great rest of your week.
Hi!
I get motor/transformer price for them but usually dismantle them fully. Especially if I'm running low on material. Love your videos man, God bless!
@@chriswalters9819 that is really awesome you get that price.
Thank you so much 😁
God bless you too!
Not a money maker. But, l love doing them while watching TV or listening to an audiobook.
@@onyxfire7511 exactly!
I used to munch on chips, now I micro scrap lol
Have a great day! 😁
Pop up video! It’s definitely worth it when you get copper it all adds up! If you have the time to do it. Awesome video!
@@ScrapMan69 thank you my friend.
Nice of you to relay your tips.
🤣 I liked that
It's worth it to me. Thanks for sharing buddy. Good times
@@ThatsRightRecycling me too buddy, me too lol.
I enjoy microscrapping. I normally bring things in and micro watching videos or TV. Great video
@@deborahclark1136 same with me. I like to micro scrap while watching tv or TH-cam during the evening.
Thanks for always showing the easiest ways of scraping
You’re welcome and thank you for watching.
In my opinion, there's something very satisfying about a copper slinky. It reminds me when I was a kid, another great video. I'm also in the process of building a copper Winder for number one wire.🤠
@@fraudanator2249 copper slinky, I love it 😃
Oh! Another interesting idea from you. I do love how creative you are my friend.
@@scrapitall200 👍🤠 Now I just need to strip the four hundred pounds of Number one wire, so I can use my winding machine.
@@fraudanator2249 400 pounds? Dang buddy, that is awesome 😃
@@scrapitall200👍🤠 I sent some pictures.I hope you got it
@@fraudanator2249 I will check my email once I’m home. I look forward to seeing the pictures. Thank you.
It's worth it to me just to get the contacts! The copper is just a bonus !
@@scrappingonthefly77 I do like the silver contacts as well 😁
A message from the preschool scraper: Hi Mr scrapitall, I liked the video. I have no school today.
Hey buddy, I hope you have a great day of no school. 😁

@@bigcountryscrapper6885 thank you buddy!
The stickers I mailed to you should be there soon I imagine
Awesome Video
Thank you!
Hey Y'all ✌️
@@ThatsRightRecycling hey buddy
Taking them in whole or without the contacts, I get $0.20/lb as copper breakage for relays. Or, as you say #2 copper if I remove windings.
That reminds me, I need to get to the junkyard for another bag or two...
@@silver_salvage_savage that’s a pretty good price for them.
Grab me a bag while you are there 🤣
@scrapitall200 I'm actually filling a metal trash can. I don't have much time to get to em. I'm drowning in wire and aluminum, trying to hold out for better prices. I've had worse problems 🙃
@@silver_salvage_savage I’m doing the same, holding out for better copper and brass prices.

Hello there! 😁
When you start your videos with "Hey there", Big Time by Peter Gabriel starts to play in my head 😂

Dlaczego używasz chińskich narzędzi ? Amerykańskie są słabej jakości ???
I have lots of tools, those ones stay in my house, my better ones are in my shop.
I especially like your videos because you keep a tidy shop. I think it makes watching these videos some how more relaxing 👍
I definitely try to keep my work areas clean and tidy, I think it does make a difference.
Thank you!
I scrap them if I’m in absolute desperation with not a single other thing to scrap and I need a scrap fix real bad. I’m working on trying to save up a bunch of smaller stuff to scrap inside during the real cold part of the winter where I don’t want to use a grinder and such. Sort of like a bear layers on fat in the winter I’m trying to layer on scrap😊 Thanks for the video
I like that analogy 🤣
I save up stuff to scrap during the winter while watching tv indoors where’s its nice and toasty lol.
This was great, thank you for making this video! Personally I use a sturdy pair of hand held nut crackers to open relays etc.
@@bentleyalder5492 you’re welcome!
Oh, I like that method, I’ll have to give that a try, thanks!
I think you're 100% correct. Keep scrapping!
You too buddy, thank you.
I checked today for tin shred and my yard is $130/ ton. .06/pound. That is terrible
@@Kreacher1974 steel is not good right now and it might be that way for awhile.
I always scrap them & love collecting the silver contacts, great video my friend & God bless
Me too! Thank you and God bless you too!
I think your count is off, because if you include the silver contacts it's worth more... That's the main reason i do them, I collect the contacts. I have a small coffee can full of them. Once I get enough, I'll refine them....
I know a lot of my viewers won’t mess with the contacts so I just calculated the numbers with them still left on.
I’ve never refined contacts before, you know how much silver can be recovered from 30 relays?
Great video james! I love scrapping for the fun of it, and not the money. Yes money is nice but scrapping is just my way to relax and get away. God bless and have a great week!
Thank you!
I’m with you on that, it’s great for relaxing and getting away from the stresses of the world.
God bless you too.
M8 I break them down too , but what you just showed me , I'll have to let them go as small electric motors for $0.28 cts /lb . Thank you for the eye opener .
Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.
That is a really great price, hard to pass up on that.
Thank you my friend and God bless you too.
To me brother I think it's always worth getting everything of value it all adds up thank you for sharing this enjoyable video with us six stars brother
@@josephcormier5974 I’m with you 100%!
Thank you brother.
Have a great evening.
The old Western Electric Telephone relays had a lot of precious metals. They were designed to last 100 years.
@@untermench3502 I would love to find some of those.
I’ve found a few older ones and they had gold contacts in them.
It all adds up my copper bucket is getting full i just need more copper
@@Jdrf73 it sure does! 😁
Don’t we all 🤣 seems like we can never have enough copper.
Have a great day!
I like these shorter videos that feature a how to of just one type of item.
Very cool how the copper looks coming off the spool, reminds me of a slinky
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
@@GDSavingThePast I’m going to try and do a mix of these sort of videos and longer ones! Don’t feel like you have to watch every single video, we all have lives outside of TH-cam. 😁
Wonder if that company ever made a slinky from copper? That would be cool.
Thank you for all of your support my friend.
So you are saying there is little to no silver in those contacts?? I heard those contacts were silver.
@@johngay1981 they are silver clad on copper. Some older ones are about 70% silver. They will all need to be refined using acids unless you’re able to find a buyer for “junk silver”
I have seen folks sell silver contacts on eBay, but I’ve never tried.
You showed me a faster way of doing those. Thank you. I think most micro scrappers are doing it for fun as much as making the most out of the scrap. I know I am not getting rich at it
Awesome! 😃
I completely agree with you, it’s such a fun hobby.
Thank you for watching my friend.
great info you are like me its not just about the money its also fun to scrap
Exactly! We all can use more fun in our lives.
Can you put these in copper bearing motors
You’ll have to ask your scrapyard
I scrap those by stripping them down and throwing the copper in with the bucket or transformer copper and electric motor copper.. my scrapyard wont give anything for those for shred..
I always find it interesting how different scrapyards are from one another. Someone said their yard will give them 28 cents per pound for them.
Definitely worth more than shred imo.
Thank you for watching.
Money is money. Worth it
Heck yeah buddy, I agree.
I like to scrap them too. But then think I wasting my time. Cheers Graham.
@@theaussienurseflipper.8113 the way I look at scrap, if it’s fun, then I’m scrapping it.
