I have been using the Lansky system for a few years now, and I'm very impressed with it. I have been looking for a decent field sharpener so I ordered a Blade Medic off the back of this video, and now I'm using it daily. It's a great little field sharpener and it's also handy around the kitchen. Thanks for this honest and descriptive review Darren 👍😀

It is a nice thing to have to keep a sharp edge when you do not have the time for a stone.

This guy doesn't know how to sharpen with a Lansky.

Looks like it should be very useful. You have rather an impressive selection of knives!

I agree, it will not be as good as a stone but it works well enough for the field!

Imagine you need to desperately sharpen your knife and you have to cut the packet open lol. I remember similar things have always been available and bought in their thousands for use in home kitchens. Nice to see one with multiple types of tool included. They're never the perfect solution but definitely great for use when out and about. It definitely made a bit of difference, not much but some, and that little bit could be just enough to get a job done. I have to admit I was waiting for your hands to return covered in plasters lol. Another awesome, in-depth review from you again Darren, great job buddy :)

Funny you should say that, I could not find my scissors so I had to use my Mora to open the package! I know I should have ran each knife through more than I did but I did not want the video to be any longer than it was, I am guessing that if I ran that cheap knife through about 25 - 3 more times it would have been a lot sharper, I might do a follow up video for the fun of it. As for the other two knives I ran them through about 12 -20 times each and they came out really nice. LOL maybe I should have put some fake blood all over my hands for the video that would have been funny. Thanks for watching yet another long video!

When you sharpened your Mora Companion you didn't put a micro bevel on the scandi grind, right? It certainly didn't look like it which is great. I just ordered the Lansky Blade Medic for use on traditional bevel edges but I do have the Mora 546 and Cold Steel Finn Hawk.

In the video no I did not, I use a stone for that plus a strop. The Lansky will put a good edge on a knife but not as good as a stone & strop.

Not a bad sharpener, LOL I did not think that the cheap Ebay knife would get any sharper, great idea though for having it for batoning & digging.

Well I had to try & sharpen it, that cheap knife actually does baton wood really well. Thanks for watching.

Not 12 times you do 3 and than another 3. you're making your knife blunt again.
