I'm a huge soup, chilli and stew fan. I've become extremely good at making them. One of the joys of the arrival of autumn and it's cooler temps is getting geared up for soups and chillis. However, I take all 3 out of rotation when the weather turns and starts heating up. So for now it's "no soup for you".
I heard that drinking hot coffee on a hot day makes your body feel cooler. Something about the body working to cool itself in reaction to something hot compared to attempting to heat itself up when something cold was introduced. Heard it from an old man on the work crew. He drank hot black coffee all day.
I have a coworker who worked in construction in NC. In the summer time he said he’d often have soup for lunch. It was light, the broth contains lots of good stuff that helped with replenishing all the sodium and electrolytes lost while sweating and working outside. He swears by it to this day.

Chicken soup is good anyday. I remember helping my Grandma make homemade noodles from scratch. Gives me comfort when I need it. Freeze it sometimes so its readily available. I lived in southeast asia for a couple years, right on the equator. people there would not think it strange to eat something hot on a raging hot day. a person there told me i should take cold showers and drink hot tea, as opposed to taking hot showers and drinking cold drinks
