yes i like harrah's it's close to fast food places mcdonalds and all the fancy restaurants in vegas next to the link and flamingo, flamingo has a better pool, the rooms at harrahs are renovated, clean, i'd rather spend money on excursions and eating out and entertainment shows
Agreed. Location is everything. I stayed at Harrah's a couple times. Either I got a slightly nicer room or they were 'warmer' before being renovated. Yours looked very institutional. The view was a little better. Agreed on food too. The food hall is okay. Harrah's used to run its own steakhouse. The view was/is phenomenal from there. Thank you!
We stayed in April and had a similar room, however, the floor in ours was filthy dirty. I mean there was garbage under the dressers, candy and stuff just left all over the carpet. Told the housekeeping staff about it for 3 days and nothing was done. The beds were done and the bathroom minimum, but no vacuuming or general picking up (should have asked for another room or something off the bill, but we were just happy to leave) Won't be back. Stayed at the Mirage 2 weeks ago for approx. the same cost (Mirage was less expensive) and the difference was night and day for cleanliness and security.
Think Harrahs is a really nice property since being remodeled and price wise won’t kill you! Being center in the strip is great and love the food options..the food court had a lot to offer and reasonably priced, unlike most hotels which gouge you. And Ruth Chris is a really good steakhouse. Gambling all over the strip is tight right now!!! Love your videos and enjoy your little guy..they grow up too fast!!❤️
The table games at least have progressive pay. I usually stay at room to sleep, change, shower &watch a little tv before going to bed. View is not that important because how many times are going to look at it without being able to sit on a balcony. Location ,location, location baby!!!
Stayed there in March of this year. Bought a package trip from our local budget airline. 3 nights and RT air for under $400, including resort fees. I was upgraded to a suite upon checkin and it was really nice. As you said, location, location. I knew I wouldn't spend much time at Harah's but did a lot of walking the strip and ridesharing to places I wanted to see. I think I would stay again if the price is right. It's just a place to sleep and rest, and being center strip near the Linq Promenade is a big plus for me.
I stayed there for the first time about a year ago. Your review is exactly what I thought. It's a place to stay and then experience the rest of Vegas. I would highly recommend Tape Face. It's the best comedy show that I've seen in Vegas.
FYI, do NOT get a strip view room at Linq. Carnival Court is right below it and you can hear the music in your room until 3:00 am. Forget about trying to sleep.
Stayed there during monsoon had view of volcano during monsoon with lightning behind volcano , room small but remodeled and clean liked piano bar and linq promenade would stay again for right price. Good to see your thoughts.
Great video review Matthew of Harrah's. I agree with everything you said. I'm a view and Hotel snob I guess 😂 Love the location and everything around Harrah's. Had some great times at Carnival Court and The Piano Bar too. Thanks again for a great review
I noticed again no coffee maker in the room. Typical for most Vegas Strip hotels. I bought a one-cup coffee maker a couple of years ago, and I put it in my suitcase, then set up in my room. Sure beats going downstairs, waiting in line and paying $ 6 for coffee at a Starbucks.
I rarely get to go on holiday so when I do I like to experience a bit of luxury with regards to my room and food. Nice furniture, comfy bed, big tub and shower and yes, a view that I can’t get at home. Same with food. I can eat fast food anywhere so I like to try different things. Relaxing in the afternoon in a nice room with a drink after a fun day on the strip is just icing on the cake. It’s also nice to relax before dinner and a show.
I always stay at Harrahs not there for the room I play table games I usually walk to different casinos to play I'll be there in May for my daughter's 40th birthday she's a professional singer so I'll love it at the piano bar this year.
Great Vlog...enjoyed the day in the life vlog very much. I've always liked Harrahs for the location, clean rooms and how it caters to gamblers. And I used to love their buffet back in the day value wise. It was fairly inexpensive and they always had crab legs and shrimp. It's basically the OG as they're the ones who created what is now known as the mammoth that is Caesars Entertainment. They started plucking up all the neighboring casinos years ago. (Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Ballys/Horseshoe, Imperial Palace/Linq, Rio, Barbary Coast/Cromwell and of course Caesars Palace)
I stayed at Harrah's many, many years ago (1995?) and thought it was just okay even back then. Though Harrah's wasn't part of Ceasars back then, I personally don't like any of the properties that are associated with Ceasars. To me, they're all about quantity over quality and want to nickel and dime you to death. I don't care too much about the view, and the room looked nice enough, but the noise would really bother me when I'm trying to sleep. Matthew, this is a really good review, and honest opinion. Great job!!!
I would not even go to Vegas if my room didn’t have a view. And I would assume everyone waits in the line to try and jag an upgrade, I’m guessing the kiosk doesn’t give you any upgrade option?
😼😼😼 another fun video to watch. I will always remember Harrah's as the first resort I ever stayed at many years ago. I was so excited.....first place I won my first silver strike coin. I'm sure in 25 years it has changed. I should go back this January and check it out again.
Omg thanks for sharing your harrahs experience in Vegas! I recently stayed at harrahs in Atlantic City and it’s definitely not a luxury experience but for a place to stay it definitely gets the job done!!
I love the Harrahs...Big Elvis at the Piano Bar is a cool show... The rooms are good value for money especially if you have a Caesars players card at Platinum level upwards... And the Linq Promenade is close by...
As a SoCal native that travels to Vegas by car often / Harrahs has one of the better parking lots. Easy to access, get out, and I can always find a spot near the elevator
Stayed pre renovation and it was like staying in an old peoples home. Hated it. Rooms look so much better now but it wouldn’t be my choice to stay at again.
I have stayed at Harrah’s before and after remodel. I don’t really care for the remodeled rooms. I had an issue with the missing shower door. You have to pay for parking now. Plus resort fees. Comp doesn’t mean completely free. They sucks. Awesome location. The Queen bed fills more like a Full.
I reckon I will be giving Harrah the wide berth. I very much care about the room, even though I only sleep for one hour a day when I’m in Vegas! I like that to be a luxurious hour!! I do like to gamble in Harrah however
I stayed at Harrah’s last year, appreciated the renovated rooms! Definitely think that the Linq is better for similar area/budget, though! Thanks for another great video.
Great video Matthew. I love Harrahs, great value, location. Pool is ok. Easy to walk to walgreens or CVS for cheap supplies. Monorail is a great way too travel the strip. Thanks Matthew! Viva. 🎲
Harrah's is boring...the vibe is stale and there's not much action. Although one night back in 2021...3 Matt Pack members followed me back to my room & we had fun!🥳 Thanks Martin D, Steve D & Robert Valentino...I'll never forget you guys! ❤️😁
@@drquinnmedicinewoman7786 🥳 I wish I was there...😱 I bet it looked like a crime scene after you checked out!!!😂😅😂 Thanks for the comment, Martin D and I miss you...he loves wearing the bra & panties that you lost!🥳🥰👍
I like how they remodeled everything but the last time I was there the employees were very unfriendly. Just trying to get a water on the Casino floors impossible. I recommend the Mirage
Pretty much what you said is right. It is a budget friendly resort. Nothing fancy. I did stay at Harrah's back in March for my birthday. I went to see the Whitney Houston Hologram Concert. I love the location. Not a great selection of gambling. I love the karaoke they have. I went to the Stratosphere in June and I hated it. The location was horrible. The only thing I liked there was their pillows. I would stay at Harrah's again. I would NOT stay at the Stratosphere ever again.
During the 30+ years I've been going to Vegas I've probably stayed the most at Harrah's...and have had a wide variety of rooms. You definitely had one of the worst! My major complaint is the remodel shower - worst design ever...floods the whole BR floor, but I did note the shower head in your vlog was different/better. The casino is my go-to regardless of where I'm staying, and the Asian station in the food hall is fantastic! Food is great, they are open to substitutions, and prices are really reasonable. Employees are friendly and helpful. Yes, it's not Cosmo, but I think you were overly harsh.
The new shower head he pointed out helps big time. They are retrofitting that head into the new showers due to the terrible design you speak of. They also replaced some bad carpet from a bunch of floors that was just remodeled. At least they are fixing some of the remodel faults, I credit them for that.
@@keganrussell4511 Glad to hear they are finally trying to address the issue - but I doubt a movable showerhead will eliminate the problem. The stationary glass wall is still too short to prevent water splashing. This issue has been resolved at Flamingo by hanging a curtain inside. Not pretty, but at least functional. Hope they also put up additional towel rods/hooks. Thanks for the info!
March 2022 was when I stayed one night, then move to MB for NY conference. Not bad rooms. Great location. But the walls and doors are thin. Granted the girls we were next were very loud. I mean really really loud. I do enjoy the entertainment at night. Everyone should check out Harrah's once. Great video
Yes location is everything. The room looked descent but if it's in the middle of the strip and there's more places you can go around you, why not? Now for the view, I don't need the most beautiful view, but once we got a comped room at tropicana and our view was terrible! Our patio door was facing the trash bins, so I went back to front desk and changed it to a garden view of course we had to pay 25.00 more but it was well worth it! No more trash smell 🤣🤣🤣🤣Mathew, have you stayed at the tropicana before?
This sounds great for my needs. I'm coming there for a work trip and I"ll be staying at the venetian, but i wanted to come out a day early and do a day trip to the desert, so for one night, most of which will be traveling, and the first just checking out the strip and crashing for the night, this seems perfect. Thanks for this video, this is what i needed to help make the decision. I was also weighing staying near fremont for the night too, so still considering that, got any reviews of the budget hotels over that way? thanks!
Have Caesars Rewards & usually get a good room rate. Was there last week and it was a decent stay however sad to see the oyster bar is no longer there.
I just stayed at Harrahs for two nights in August that I booked months in advanced online not sure if that made any difference, easy check in kiosk, checkin right on time, nice standard Valley View King 👑 size bed, side view of roof with slight view of Rio in distance, but overall great budget friendly room in center of strip and interesting upgraded room with funny sliding door for bathroom 🚽. The room was very spacious and felt like you could have a party in it or people getting ready for a wedding would be a great room to do it in. Nice vanity. Yes, great central location in Las Vegas strip and most people will venture out to explore and do other things like me! The bus 🚌 transportation is great when you don’t have a set deadline. You can see so much off strip. 😊
I've stayed there a few times, using my comps. I agree it is a landing pad, that's about it. I usually mix my cheap with expensive stays. I might stay at Harrahs for couple days, then stay at move Caesars, Wynn, or Cosmopolitan, Circa. Last minute trip I'll stay there. I like it better than Ballys, and Linq. Maybe once Ballys gets renovated to the Horseshoe I'll chance my mind. Most of cheap stays are Harrahs, Park MGM, Linq, Westgate, Strat. I stay away from Excalibur and Luxor these days, but that's where I started before I had any players status. I try and stay at the Wynn/Encore or Cosmo most of the time anymore. I have tried Resorts World a couple of times Hilton and Conrad. It really depends on how long, when, how much I want to spend and the experience I'm looking for. I use Westgate and Strat as one or day stay. Usually during peak season, or event season when prices on the strip are expensive for one night, those surge costs. I basically use Harrahs as somewhere to sleep, and leave as soon as wake up. I can say the same with Linq, Flamingo, MGM Grand, and few others. I know this was a long winded answer to your question. But it is my reasoning for staying there, as well as some of the foremenioned places. Best of luck
I'm an odd ball.... I'm Ceasars Diamond, so Ballys is usually preferred because they will upgrade me. At Flamingos they don't care they don't even have a diamond line 😑
@@JustinClough76 I'll look again next time I walk through Flamingo but the past few times I walked through the Flamingo check in area to peek at the Diamond line it's usually closed off 🤔🤔
harrahs has been my home casino for quite a while now. i spend very little time in the room but i think the remodel is pretty nice. i've stayed all over at the resort and can honestly say i've never had a decent view. guess that comes with being smack in the middle with resorts all around you. i will admit i don't eat much in harrahs. i think their food offerings leave a lot to be desired. i have really enjoyed their staff. dealers and pit personnel seem to always be helpful. with all that being said, i think the condition of the strip is going downhill in a hurry. dope, homeless, people dressed as characters, dope, did i mention dope? we've always been strip people. in 50 trips, probably 180 nights, i've spent exactly one night off the strip and that was at the Golden Nugget. me and my gambling buddies think we are going to stay at Southpoint this next trip. we've ubered over there several times and it has quickly became our favorite hang. i enjoy your videos , thanks for this one.
Want a room with a view? Book a strip view room. Get a free room and use a kiosk? You get what you paid for. Foodwise, Harrah's is a ghost of what it used to be. Nice buffet, KGB Burgers, good Chinese restuarant and a coffee house with late night steak special. They also shut down a nice sized Poker Room. Got a Caesars card? You can stay for 3 nights in December for $160 TOTAL. About what you pay for a steakhouse meal.
Great Vlog Matthew!!!! Mary and I just stay there to sleep. We’re spoiled with the Cosmo and Delano. Love the comment of they don’t even sell good water. Do you mean bougie water, I’m mean Fuji water😂😂😂. Keep up the good work Matt!!!
@@SayHiToMatthew I get it. That’s why I made a joke of it. Your awesome Matthew!!! So glad we got to meet you!!! Can’t wait till we can meet up again!!!
I allso got a comp room. Of course I did the 20 dollar card trick and got up graded. Of course this before they put self chack Inn. I enjoyed it. I am both the view are grate and I am there to have a good time any ways.
The room didn't look bad for a comped room, but of course the view sucked! I get waived resort fees and parking at any MGM Property, so it's not really worth it to me. My last comp was Park MGM and I'm using it for cheapie rooms when The Lakers come to town in October too.
I have always said Harrah’s gave me a retirement vibe… meaning it is meant for retired folks. The casino is decent and the part about it I liked is the Oyster bar but I heard it closed. The best part is legit the location on the strip, like you said.
I’m one of those gamblers that don’t care where I sleep. I spend most of my days at the sportsbook anyways. Stayed at harrahs for week 1 of nfl and actually didn’t mind the hotel and casino. Very basic just how I like it.
@sayhitomatthew People are waiting in line because they are doing the 20$ trick, getting free early check in and late check outs, modifying the rooms and asking for better views. Your room experience in Harrah's would have been much better if you would've waited in line.
I am a view guy so I want to see more than the parking garage. Yes the location is great but the rooms are just basic. So I would pass on staying there but i do like walking thru the place. Pizza Cake is a must stop.
Cool vid Matthew. The view and ambiance of the room matters to me. I am 51, so definitely older than you and many of the other TH-camrs out there. Maybe I am weird but the view and the room has always mattered to me. Sure, location matters but if you get a bummy room, what good is location?
I tell friends, if you can get it close to $0 a night/comped yes, and if you just need a place to eat/sleep/sh*t, then you’ll be good here. Just a step up from basic.
Thanks for the video since Harrah's is on my list of where I am considering to stay my next trip. While your room does look basic, it does look relatively clean. As for the view, well, you pay for what you get I suppose. Comped? Probably no view unless you are a super whale. And yes, I have no plans to actually do anything at Harrah's except needing a clean place to shower and sleep. I have other areas where I will go to eat and gamble. Location is very important for me. I heard Harrah's use to have a good Oyster Bar that I definitely would have tried but now it is closed to make way for yet another Gordan Ramsey place. How many are there now on the strip? Geez.
Can anyone tell me if harrah's charges a security deposit at check in and if its a total or per night charge? Excalibur charges $200 as of july 2020. No I e talks about that and i need to know EXACTLY how much I have to spend. Thanks!!

SHTM, thank you very much for sharing that review! I only gamble in Harrahs. I subscribed to your channel!
Harrahs finally redeemed itself for me. The drink service is on fire. The smell was cut down/out and the rooms are nice.
Basic was OK for me I stayed there twice. So overall I really enjoyed the hotel thanks Matthew for this update fun date 🤣
I was also weighing staying near fremont for the night too, so still considering that, got any reviews of the budget hotels over that way? thanks!
I will say it's a great location decent rooms.
Does the fact that you win or lose at gambling affect your opinion of the place?
Haha no but i know it does for some people!
Have Caesars Rewards & usually get a good room rate. Was there last week and it was a decent stay however sad to see the oyster bar is no longer there.
Your review is what I guessed would be like. Last time I stayed there was a lot worse so I guess is getting better? Awesome video as usual!
I don’t go to Vegas to gamble much anymore just to hangout and people watch. Room views don’t matter to me as long as the room and carpet are clean.
Have stayed there a few times but when they changed to the food court I have not or will not stay their again!
The Tropicana rarely gets any video play
I'm an odd ball.... I'm Ceasars Diamond, so Ballys is usually preferred because they will upgrade me. At Flamingos they don't care they don't even have a diamond line 😑
Flamingo has a diamond check in lounge my man..it's to the left of the main check in with it's own dedicated room.
I need to explore more of southpoint!
You can only get that strip/Mountain View so many times, I don’t have to have it. I really only need the room to shower and change clothes
Vacancy at the MPM
😂😂😂
Want a room with a view? Book a strip view room. Get a free room and use a kiosk? You get what you paid for. Foodwise, Harrah's is a ghost of what it used to be. Nice buffet, KGB Burgers, good Chinese restuarant and a coffee house with late night steak special. They also shut down a nice sized Poker Room. Got a Caesars card? You can stay for 3 nights in December for $160 TOTAL. About what you pay for a steakhouse meal.
Casinos tend to give rooms with bad views as comp rooms. It happens to me all the time.
Haha that was a joke for the people that get it 😆
@@SayHiToMatthew I get it. That’s why I made a joke of it. Your awesome Matthew!!! So glad we got to meet you!!! Can’t wait till we can meet up again!!!
@@robval9085 same to you guys !
Hey. Harrah's very basic. Check out Ballys/future Horseshoe. Stayed there June 2021. Roz from Newark NJ
Hello 👋🏽 Everyone 😊
I have always said Harrah’s gave me a retirement vibe… meaning it is meant for retired folks. The casino is decent and the part about it I liked is the Oyster bar but I heard it closed. The best part is legit the location on the strip, like you said.
The oyster bar was taken over by a new Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
Before I moved here I cared about the view. I always avoided Harrah’s.
Geez.
Matthew does that cake make you salty
It depends not everybody care about a fancy room for me personally, I have to stay at a five-star resort because it matters😂
You gotta pay the resort fee on comped room??? MGM properties never did that to us.
Can anyone tell me if harrah's charges a security deposit at check in and if its a total or per night charge? Excalibur charges $200 as of july 2020. No I e talks about that and i need to know EXACTLY how much I have to spend. Thanks!!
i would only go there for $5 blackjack but i think that is gone now
hard to find that anywhere!
