  • This song is a lament of a Lower Primary teacher who taught in a private Primary School
Somewhere in Meghalaya, India. His plight may represent the tough life of many other underpaid teachers too, especially those who teach in private schools, where work load is heavy due to large number of enrollment and a stressing whole day classes.
Furthermore, the singer wishes to communicate that teaching in a lower primary school is a much heavier task than those teaching in the higher level as he has to start from nothing or from the roots. Yet most managements would offer higher pay to high school trachers rather than the LP teachers. Besides that, most students and even the society as a whole would give LP teachers less respect and recognition.
The song means no harm to anyone and its just the artistic expression of the artist from his perspective and his experiences.
Due to some mistake in subtitle's spelling, plz have a clearer view of the translated lyrics below :
I am a Lower primary teacher. Clothed in cast off attire. The folks call me Sir, though all i have on my feet are slippers
The plight of being underpaid . The plight of one at a private school.
I work hard amidst difficulties and despite the scanty reward
I rush in haste from home every morning to reach school on time.
To discipline the children on the line while being embarrassed of my own sewn clothes.
Eight classes in a day and with a very short lunch break . Enough to wash and piddle until the bell rang and classes resume
In the classroom i shield my nose from the foul smell of farts
I wipe their noses and clean their wastes too
Slogging the entire day, correcting exercise copies during off periods
Careful with my tongue to children
Assisting the ones who struggle to write
Along with them i sing and dance
Spending all energy left in me
This over crowded room hindering the flow of fresh air. And under my half-built hut packed with children for home tuition
To whom i can't say no for they will only think less of me.
    Other people speak of ATM.
I only have my chest pocket
I disperse my salary paying debts after debts
They say i am a miser for never using a cab.
The status of an educator and yet a porter on weekly market days
A hard working LP teacher i am
Facing obstacles from all angles; chided at when mistaken.
And on that glorious matriculation result day
The victorious students thank everyone but not me, the LP TEACHER
