About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. Hi guys. Thanks for reacting to my recommendation! Good to know you liked it. As I've told you in my recommendation, Nightwish is a Finnish band. The pipes around the keyboards are made to look like the monument in Helsinki for the famous Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. I've also mentioned that they have a huge variety in songs. From heavy songs like this one, to more epic and melodic songs, as well as beautiful ballads and Celtic sounding songs. So there's a lot more to explore if you're interested. Nightwish was founded in 1996. This is Floor Jansen, the third lead singer of the band. She was 32 at the time of this show in 2013. One of their heavier tunes, but a few go at least as hard.
The guitar of the lead guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is custom made. The purple one is a EV-1 named after his initials. The keyboardist is standing behind a false front that looks like a pipe organ but he plays KORG synthesizers, usually two sometimes three. He usually has a bottle of wine hidden there somewhere.
Nightwish has been around since 1996. Floor officially joined in 2013. This video is from 2013. As you can hear she has an incredible voice and this is live. She can sing pop, rock, metal, classical and opera. She also does some growling. All of this pitch perfect and with power. I know of no other female singer that can do all that. Nightwish also turns out different styles of music. There’s probably something there that would be your cup of tea unless you’re not into female fronted bands. Nice reaction. Floor already joined 2012 as a substitute, but soon became a permanent/official member, not long before that concert. You will get aware of that special "Honeymoon" like vibe, if you keep up reacting to that legendary Nightwish concert at Wacken 2013. Sorry, I am into Rammstein since 25 years. They where in-official formed in 1993 as Tampleprayers and official in 1994 as Rammstein and have never changed their line up. The vocalist Till Lindemann made his licence as pyrotechnician in 1996. He has the "big licence", where the members have the "little one", so they can "assist him". Lindemann did it, because he was bored on stage, but for all at the beginning he had stage fright (that's why he often was wearing googles or sunglasses. Also because there was an incident in 1996 at a concert, where 5 or 6 (I am not completely aware of the numbers) got injured, one had to stay in hospital over night. The others kept on playing the song (so no panic starts among the audience) and Lindemann helped the security. He finished the song, apologised and after the concert they all went to the hospital to have a look at the injured. They are "bad guys" on stage, but that it is. With ballads he is very uncomfortable to be on it until today, which you even can see at some videos from 2019. The singer Floor Jansen (Dutch) had been with the band for 10 months at the time of this concert in August 2013. She is still with them today. So Floor is only few years younger than the guys, except Marco (and maybe their current drummer Kai), the basist. Around this concert Floor was in her early 30's. They did change singers (twice). The original singer is the around the same age as the original band members, the keyboard player and the guitarist. Now they are in their mid 40's.

Floor is the third singer in the bands history, yup she is the youngest member of the band...fun fact: at that show she was not an official band member, she jumped in for former singer Anette Olzon during a running tour! She actually learned the entire set list (two hours of content) in only 48 hours during a flight from the Netherlands to the U. S. and during quick rehearsals. Hehehe yes this was a live show, one of the best ever recorded. All their live shows are awesome, I've seen them live in weather hotter than hell but still great. This is one of their heavier tracks, but they are not limited to this, from very fast pacrd and heavy to slow melodic they bring it all. Floor is only 4 years younger than the original singer - she just looks great - no face lifts to my knowledge. She has been with Nightwish just as long as Tarja was, so they are a well oiled machine. Nightwish are an interesting band without a particular style other than epic music. They move between all forms of metal all the way through to sea shanties! The main writer Tuomas (the keyboardist) doesn't really give a s#$t as to genres or styles just writes the music to serve the emotions he wants the listener to get from the song. Some hate this as they wish that Nightwish had all their music like Romanticide whereas most of us love the fact they don't!

Nightwish was founded in 1996. This is Floor Jansen, the third lead singer of the band. She was 32 at the time of this show in 2013. One of their heavier tunes, but a few go at least as hard.
The guitar of the lead guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is custom made. The purple one is a EV-1 named after his initials. The keyboardist is standing behind a false front that looks like a pipe organ but he plays KORG synthesizers, usually two sometimes three. He usually has a bottle of wine hidden there somewhere.
Nightwish has been around since 1996. Floor officially joined in 2013. This video is from 2013. As you can hear she has an incredible voice and this is live. She can sing pop, rock, metal, classical and opera. She also does some growling. All of this pitch perfect and with power. I know of no other female singer that can do all that. Nightwish also turns out different styles of music. There’s probably something there that would be your cup of tea unless you’re not into female fronted bands. Nice reaction. Floor already joined 2012 as a substitute, but soon became a permanent/official member, not long before that concert. You will get aware of that special "Honeymoon" like vibe, if you keep up reacting to that legendary Nightwish concert at Wacken 2013. The official announcement of her staying with the band was made in autumn 2013, after they finished their tour and kept their fans busy with some exciting news...

Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera). Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered TH-cam in the last year. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughter Freja (5 years old), a horse and pony, a dog and a bunch of cats, she found this.

They where in-official formed in 1993 as Tampleprayers and official in 1994 as Rammstein and have never changed their line up. The vocalist Till Lindemann made his licence as pyrotechnician in 1996. He has the "big licence", where the members have the "little one", so they can "assist him". Lindemann did it, because he was bored on stage, but for all at the beginning he had stage fright (that's why he often was wearing googles or sunglasses. Also because there was an incident in 1996 at a concert, where 5 or 6 (I am not completely aware of the numbers) got injured, one had to stay in hospital over night. The others kept on playing the song (so no panic starts among the audience) and Lindemann helped the security. He finished the song, apologised and after the concert they all went to the hospital to have a look at the injured. They are "bad guys" on stage, but that it is.
With ballads he is very uncomfortable to be on it until today, which you even can see at some videos from 2019. So I would say, Rammstein was first. 😉
Yes I also like Nightwish, but I fell in love with Rammstein back in 1997 in an Austrian Nightclub as 16 year old girl, such love lasts forever.
The band started in 1996 as teenagers and also this video is a decade old. And yes, the singer did get swapped (twice), but Floor is about the same age as the rest of original the band. However, the bass player (Sami) got swapped after just a few years for Marko and Marko is about ten years older than the rest.

So Floor is only few years younger than the guys, except Marco (and maybe their current drummer Kai), the basist. Around this concert Floor was in her early 30's. They did change singers (twice). The original singer is the around the same age as the original band members, the keyboard player and the guitarist. Now they are in their mid 40's.
Floor Jansen (the singer) is not that young during the time this video was recorded, I think this is Wacken 2013, so Floor was about 32 at that point.

Floor is the third singer in the bands history, yup she is the youngest member of the band...fun fact: at that show she was not an official band member, she jumped in for former singer Anette Olzon during a running tour! She actually learned the entire set list (two hours of content) in only 48 hours during a flight from the Netherlands to the U. S. and during quick rehearsals. There is a documentary, called "please learn the set list in 48 hours"!
Hehehe yes this was a live show, one of the best ever recorded. All their live shows are awesome, I've seen them live in weather hotter than hell but still great. This is one of their heavier tracks, but they are not limited to this, from very fast pacrd and heavy to slow melodic they bring it all. I'm sure people will suggest other songs, I won't they're all great. 🤘🏽

Nightwish are an interesting band without a particular style other than epic music. They move between all forms of metal all the way through to sea shanties! The main writer Tuomas (the keyboardist) doesn't really give a s#$t as to genres or styles just writes the music to serve the emotions he wants the listener to get from the song. Some hate this as they wish that Nightwish had all their music like Romanticide whereas most of us love the fact they don't!

why is age so important for you guys? Floor is 46 now but looks amazing. A bit more depth in your reaction would be nice. You don;t have to like the music, but at least admit it is geniously composed and the muscisians are awesome.
So, Floor is a great, amazing singer, but Tarja (who left Nightwish in 2006 I believe) is on another level, a true opera-style singer that blended so nicely with the whole Nightwish mood. Imho...
