Glad you posted this up. Glad you're still out there giving them hell. Really been missing this stream. Live streams are nice... but so many are just repetitive, full of stream snipers. I mean like everyone on the server is broadcasting the same fight from their perspective simultaneously kind of crap. And not one iota of difference between their ears. I tell peeps to watch their flanks and their butts, Don't stand still. Shoot and change position. Flank Them. Don't take on more than 1 or 2 stragglers. Use the environment for cover... never waltz down into the middle of bullet town. etc etc. Only one that comes close to listening is my son. He's learning. Plays Overwatch though. yuch.

A lack of situational awareness is typically what gets most players. Sometimes you get a no-win scenario, especially in Planetside 2, where numbers are often the deciding factor. The trick is to learn what you did wrong to get yourself into that scenario, then adapt. I watch players frequently repeat the same action: Run into point from the same route and get mowed down. Farmers prey on them and love it. They never change tactics because once the numbers equalize by redeploy or a platoon dropping in, they win. But they won't understand why they won, or what they could have done differently to not need numerical superiority. New players especially struggle with this idea because they don't understand the base population display or that the shortest route becomes the heavily defended bottleneck. Of course sometimes you simply have to cut your losses to focus your resources elsewhere... It's a slippery slope and most players (especially the new ones) don't identify with the concept of adapting.

Glad to hear you appreciated the breakdown. The idea is to get people to think about what they did and identify how to improve for next time. My activities aren't random. They don't always pay off, but I learn from my mistakes... And I'm not afraid to let people see my failures (deaths) to show my assessments.
