$40 TARGET Shoes Are Taken Apart and UPGRADED | Shoes GIVEN TO CHARITY

  • After our Walmart shoe makeover, we wanted to have some more fun. This time, we went to Target and purchased this pair of $40 Goodfellow & Co captoe oxford dress shoes. We disassembled the lower half of these shoes and built them back up using premium materials. This pair of shoes definitely received one heck of a makeover and can now last much longer, due to the upgraded leather welt, British-made Dainite rubber soles and heels, and leather heel blocks. This pair has been delivered to the Nashville Rescue Mission, and we hope this pair of shoes will help someone out.

Much respect to your company for all you do for charities and homeless shelters! I was once homeless, and I really appreciated all the help I was given to start my life over after dealing with addiction. The one thing I really cherished more than the clothes was finding nice pairs of dress shoes for interviews. It was a godsend to find nice dress shoes. So now that I've overcome that hurdle in life, I donated my dress clothes and dress shoes to a shelter, plus a myriad of household items. One thing I can say is that whomever picks your donated items really appreciates that item. So peeps continue donating to your favorite shelters and charities for your gift will save a life and will help continue the cycle of sharing.

Agreed. Out of the box with a nice toe shine, it would probably be enough to impress on a corporate interview. Wouldn’t last as long after that I think, but it would do the trick initially or with special occasion/very light use.

I know this is an old video but I wanted to say that I appreciate this type of content much more than other channels that cut in half/destroy perfectly good shoes that could be going to people who need shoes, or just clothing in general. Watching this video was just as informative on how these shoes were constructed, and someone got to wear them at the end. Win/win.

I had four pair of Florsheim shoes. loafers. On the very first wearing the crappy foam soles fell apart. I took the to a shoe repair shop in Barrie, Ontario. Get It Done. They were like moccasins without the sole. There was no welt. The tops are not top quality leather either. But with the shoes done I think those shoes will last for the rest of my life. I'm 90, eh? They were so good I had all four pair done. Shoe repair is reborn. So, enjoyable to watch skilled craftsmen at work.

So I'm no stranger in the shoe repair shop on the customer side of the counter. As a seamstress, I understood the concept, but this is a specialty craft. I've taken a few pair of shoes apart at the end of their useful life, just to check it out.....yes, that's nerdy. Thanks for doing this guys. I'll be back for more.

These are my favorite types of videos. I love what y'all do and it is such a joy to watch. Whoever gets that shoe is one lucky dude. I really like the look of them. To me, they look tough, more masculine. Yeah the uppers are not that great, we got it. Just looking at them though. Not many people could tell, just by looking at them, especially after the work y'all put into them, that these are Target shoes. Well they ain't Target shoes any more! I know I'd be happy to get those, no matter if I was down on my luck or not.

These will be awesome for someone - replacing that crappy particle board insole with real leather and getting rid of that 'save 2 cents' 90% hollow sole will make these last until the upper falls apart.
Having had similar shoes in the past - if you attempt to care for the upper at all they always outlast the insole - let alone the sole - these should give someone a good year or more of service without hurting their feet. Awesome job.

As always, wonderful work guys. I do not understand anyone complaining in the comment section about how you gents decide to invest your time and resources. I guess thats the problem with society today!! Great concept!! I love the fact that you're willing to give back and reach down with a helping hand!! Thats why your business and channel continue to grow and thrive!! Much love!!

Great video. Not sure how hard it would be, but maybe check goodwill for some worn out shoes with leather uppers? Then redo them. Probably going to be way more comfortable than redoing shoes with man made uppers.

Very neat work ! At this point, you have proven that with skills and good will, A LOT can be done with soles.
Your next challenge "for fun" could focus on uppers that have been torn on multiple spots ... most likely around the vamp, where leather creases ... and you would proceed to take them apart and sew up a new vamp. While you're at it, you could also fix the uppers' lining, assuming it has been badly damaged too.
I believe such a project would complete all the upgraded soles you have already posted, and it would showcase your overall mastery of the craft. The video's title could be "Destroyed $10 EBAY shoes/boots are brought back to life" ✌️

Good job. Someone will get good use out of these shoes. Thanks for doing this video. On s different note, i happened to see some covers of romance novels and saw soneone that looked like one of you. I was wondering when you all started posing for those covers. I was startled to see that picture but thought you might just do that posing for a little change from your other work.

On this pair, I'm in the camp of "what's the point?" Taking a "pleather" (sow's ear) upper and trying to make a silk purse from it... well, pleather shoes aren't even worthy of the effort. They won't breathe, there's no repairing of scuffs, etc. And, were probably more capable of keeping a person's foot dry {from puddles) when they had the OEM "melted on" soles.
Don't get me wrong, I always love watching you two work your magic on a pair of thrashed hoof-covers, and I get it when it's to salvage someone's beloved shoes that have either a sentimental worth, or for medical reasons, need a renewed lease on life.

We have A LOT more of these to come…from many different brands. Why Target? Why Walmart? Well, it’s fun, it’s different, a lot of folks watch the video, and it’s still a better shoe than three quarters of the worn out shoes people donate to charities. That’s why. Enjoy the video and wait for all of the other shoe makeovers and donations we do. 👍
