Oh, *and please don't trust the bad reviews on Amazon, they're written by Xiaomi/LeEco.*
Actually mostly Xiaomi.
How good does it play games? Heat-wise? If it overheats, is it dangerous to the phone?
Quinn Evans I'm not a big phone gamer so I haven't played some of the heavy games like Asphalt 8 and all, only smaller ones, and in them it performs like a champ.
Although there's 'gaming reviews' available on TH-cam for the G4+ that you can watch to see how it performs in heavy games.
As for heating, the only time it's gonna be noticeable is when it's fast charging. If you use the charger that comes in the box, it fast charges the phone, so gets full in about only 1 hr 15 mins, but as a side effect, it heats up.
But you don't have to worry as it stops fast charging if it heats up too much (stops at 44ºC).
So it does heat up, but never does it 'overheat'.
Also, heating doesn't damage the phone in anyway, in comparison, laptops get upto 70ºC and they do fine.
Oh, and if you use the camera it does get upto 38-42ºC because the camera on this is great so it needs to work hard to get the shot right (16MP + PDAF & Laser AF require lots of processing power).

I am still using this phone after buying it in May-2016
In last 5years, after many drops screen never broke, never used scratch proof screen cover still very minimal scratches.
No over heating even after so many years.
Capable battery yet after 5years it can still stay running for a day after moderate use. Heavy use can get 6-7hour battery. One issue with battery is that, it has ballooned a bit and backcover is useless now.
It's almost time for it to die now, but m still using it for few more months, let's see how long will it last.
For others wondering, no its not the only phone m using... 😂

I'm regretting buying this third class phone. lock button broke on its own, got scratches on the camera right after 3-4 months of buying. Keeps hanging and sooper slow. Videos can't be played cz of some unknown error. Even this video can't be played, I am simply commenting.

Not really you would probably be allright if you quickly take it out but not water proof it is resistant/splash proof

It's splash proof but not completely water resistant.
Moto G4 Plus does not have a waterproofiing certificate like IP67, IPX7, etc (Moto G3 was only water resistant and not waterproof) and thus it is not waterproof. But it comes with a nano coating that protects it from water to a small extent but still it is not eligible for being water resistant.
does the moto g4 plus have touchless control features? like the one present in moto x.
