    I had the same problem and it was the mass air flow sensor.3 years later and still no issues. Make sure its a mitsubishi OEM. After market ones kept making my car stall out at red lights with the ac on.

    I had this problem on my galant a while back and the forum guys told me to change the ground wires in the engine bay. I did it and that did the trick. All the light stayed on nice and bright after that. Make sure your battery is providing enough juice, have it tested. If I remember correctly, there is a flat braided ground wire from the firewall to the engine, change that wire to a fat ground cable too.

      @cactar4minecraft  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I actually had to do the same recently. The inside of the cable was totally destroyed. Now she starts up fine.

      I have a 1998 super saloon.... first the neutral light kept blinking and once I go in drive: it loses power, looooow rpm, now it wont start and sometimes it backfires. I can't get a decent mechanic to give me a good diagnosis

    • @cactar4minecraft
      @cactar4minecraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wesleyreid3128 I myself am not a mechanic so I can't give an accurate answer, just an educated guess. Neutral light is either the sensor for it being in neutral going bad or I am wondering if it's an electrical issue related to it not starting. I would go simple first and find the ground for the dash and the sensor and make sure they are fine. Then if you still have the issues you might have to look into that sensor for neutral. Not starting is something I wrestle with all the time currently. Replaced the Ignition Switch and then down the line I had to replace my negative wire coming off the battery as it was filled with corrosion. Now I think the ignition switch is bad again so I am going to try and bypass it with a push button start

    my 04 galant is having a similar, but its idles at 1300ish in park, tries to stall if you turn on ac, and tries to stall in drive with ac off, when you drive you need to left foot brake and keep it at about 1000 or it tries to stall

    My engine has a rough idle and insane vibration when idling, same make and model as this. Any idea what it might be?

    • @cactar4minecraft
      @cactar4minecraft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly I have no idea. Only thing I can think of off hand is if it's a stable RPM but the car is vibrating the motor mounts. Otherwise I have no clue since what happened in this video was the rough idle I experienced and the throttle body was the issue in my case.

      maybe thats what i need to do to my,n when you hit the gas pedel to take off did it make a air sucking sound at the throttle body

    • @cactar4minecraft
      @cactar4minecraft  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just guessing but if its a sucking sound it typically is the IACV. If you have a ram air intake you'll hear the sucking sound all the time. But if you still have the stock air box and hear the sucking I would also guess the intake hose could be cracked because the stock air box typically eliminates the sucking sound.

  • @mrmanautomotive
    @mrmanautomotive 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sometimes its as simple as removing and inspecting the IAC for carbon buildup ---> th-cam.com/video/8YVd5NICvpk/w-d-xo.html
    Also, galants can be sensitive to overfilling the oil causing it to leak through the valve seals and onto the spark plugs, if this happens you'll end up burning out your coil packs or plug wires. Fortunately, that's also an easy DIY fix and plenty of people have videos on here to show how to diagnose and fix it.
    I'll be sure to make a video about the oil and coil pack issue sometime in the future.

    my mitsubishi galant from year 1995 is having idle issues too. When i cold start it it wont raise rpm and will stall and shut off unless i press the gas. I cleaned whole throttlebody and replaced iacv. changed temp sensor too without any help. These things are notorious of having idle issues

      Yeah so I bought an entire new (not used because I tried that) throttle body off of eBay and it has ran fine since then. Only issues since I did that was when the aftermarket security system started dying so the car wouldn't start. That was fun tracing all the wires back and uninstalling the system haha.

    Da fuq did I just watch? Don't ever do that to your car, no matter the year or model. Shut down all electronic components before switching the car off. If you do that a couple of times, most cars will tolerate it. However if this becomes a habit, you can very well kiss your eyes goodbye in no time.
    As for the problem, the only solution is a new battery and connectors. Also be careful with this in the future if you don't wanna do it all over again.

    • @cactar4minecraft
      @cactar4minecraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I am not sure what you are losing you mind about. I never turned the car off. I was simply showing that before I did shut it off that day I had noticed a large drop in the rpm when I switched a lot of the climate control off. There was nothing wrong with the battery or any connectors and in this case actually ended up being my throttle body causing issues all around the car and after replacing the throttle body this was no longer an issue.
